Dear Sir,

Having studied your proposal for collaboration on the TESLA project, which you are developing with
Robert Wilson, we would like to inform you that the Dubrovnik Festival is interested in taking part in
this collaboration both programme- and production-wise.

We would be happy if the Dubrovnik Festival could give its share in the development of this
production, and if the premiere could take place in the late summer/early autumn, at the latest by 15
September 2014.
We are ready to offer, according to our abilities, all our assistance - both where finances and logistics
are concerned - in order to carry out the project. We find the projects concept to be quite interesting
in its present-day phase and to have artistic and media potentials which can be developed in time,
offering artistic challenge of working in the Festivals new venues.

Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 7 January 1943) was an ethnic Serb born and raised in Croatia. Inventor, electrical engineer, and futurist best
known for discovery of alternating current (AC) electrical supply system. He patented devices and introduced theories used in many
inventions, among others in field of radio transmission, X-ray, wireless transmission of energy, concept of free energy and beam weapons. On
January 9
th
1947. after learning of Tesla's death, the FBI seized all of Tesla's belongings. His opus in developing modern technologies of
communications, weaponry and free energy is still subject of research.

Tesla is a project inspired with life and work of inventor Nikola Tesla.

Project explores early life in science of great inventor Nikola Tesla (1856.-1943.) Story has focus on Teslas complex relationship
with science and religion and his research in codependent relationship between Human and Universe mentioned in many ancient
and sacred texts and books.
His development as scientist and inventor was search for solutions on how to apply his mystical experience of Unity from his youth
days for benefit of all humanity.Tesla looked beyond material world.

TESLA could be a regional (Southeast Europe ex Yugoslavia) co-productions with international partners and reach.
Because of Tesla's origin (ethnical Serb from Croatia) he is well accepted as a symbol of peacemaking and cohabitation among Serbs and
Croats, two largest nations on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia, and also the nations that ignited the last war on European soil.
Tesla also had enormous influence and importance for the rest of the World. Based on that, project Tesla could have international appeal and
reach.
For that purpose we propose to iconic avant-garde director Robert Wilson (USA) and influential music authors and important social
figure (TBA) to artistically lead the project inspired with Tesla's life and work. For story/scenario and choreography we are proposing Croatian
writer (Vladimir Stojislavljevic) and choreographer (Emil Matesic).
Form of project, opera or theatre performance, is up open for discussion with CPA and Mr. Wilson. In case that project Tesla became theatre
piece, leading role could be given to Hollywood or European actors with art allure - James Franco/Vincent Cassel, or some other affordable
actor well know in the region of ex-Yugoslavia and the rest of the World.
Robert Wilson personally knows both of Croatian members of creative team and agreed to work and develops project with them!

Model of organization and funding of production

Change Performing Arts (CPA) from Milan (Italia)
Change performing arts from Milan has a long lasting relationship with Robert Wilson as his collaborator and producer. In the Tesla project
CPA should be positioned as production supervisor and umbrella organization for production and development of project on international scale.
Relying on its know-how, expirience and reputation we believe that CPA could find international coproducers for Tesla project and secure to
project international reach.
Serafini (Zagreb, Croatia)
Serafini, organization based in Zagreb, Croatia is creative developer of project Tesla with some history and experience working with Robert
Wilson. In this production model, SRAFINI should be the main regional organizer and producer in close collaboration with CPA. Having already
worked with Mr. Wilson we are pretty much aware of how Robert Wilson work in performing art is structured and how production should be lead
and executed, from first idea, visualization, staging in Watermill and to final presentation.
Serafini would work under supervision of CPA and should be involved in development of production as creative producer between director,
writer, musician and others involved. Serafini will overlook preproduction and develops model of collaboration with regional coproducers.
Coproducers could be regional National opera/National theatre houses or influential festivals with long tradition in Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and
Macedonia. Serafini would also manage local/regional PR, marketing and financing of production in close collaboration and supervision of CPA.
Because of connections that we (Serafini) have in Croatia and the rest of the region, we could also develop strategy for public, corporate and
private fundraising. We would manage applications for appropriate public and corporate tenders including presentations to multinational
corporations that operate in the region of Ex-Yugoslavia.

Dubrovnik summer festival - DSF (Dubrovnik, Croatia) together with Croatian National theatre - Zagreb
Main vehicle in funding and executive regional co-producer could be well known, 'Dubrovnik summer festival - DSF' with 63 years of tradition,
held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Festival opens every year on first week of July and closes by the end of August.
Festival has budget for theatre, music and film content. Few years ago performing art program began looking for international recognition. In
last few years some important steps are made. New leadership of festival wants to go further and offeres initial and continues funding in
exchange for role in Tesla project. Based on that DSF should have world premiere of the project.
With DSF as regional production vehicle project TESLA could be easily presented in regional national opera / theatre houses or seasonal-
autumn festivals... (Croatia World theatre festival, Slovenia Ljubljana festival, Bosnia and Herzegovina MESS festival in Sarajevo,
Serbia Bitef festival in Belgrade and Macedonia MOT festival in Skopje) and seek funding in presales or in coproduction form. All
mentioned are held in time frame of September 9th October 15th

FUNDING
Public and corporate funds could be the source for funding of Tesla project, as well as internet donations.
Project Tesla should be middle scale production. National theatres/Opera houses in region of ex Yugoslavia are 500-700 seats. Our wish is
that production should have international star of affordable price in leading role. It could be someone with strong affinity and admiration for
Tesla's personality (in case that Tesla became theatre piece that could be James Franco, Vincent Cassel etc...His appearance in the
project could be sponsored by corporate funds)
All other cast could be from Croatia.

Because of important role of Dubrovnik summer festival in funding, promoting and implementating of Tesla project in the region, it could be
very wise to bear in mind that Dubrovnik city theatre is small scale (stage is only 7mx8m), but city of Dubrovnik has a variety of
spectacular open air (site specific) locations with basic equipment for theatre performance in time of festival.

It is usual practice that National theatre in Zagreb coproduces with Dubrovnik Summer festival in sense that performance in Dubrovnik is held
on site specific location with basic, but sufficient equipment and in Zagreb in theatre with 700 seats with full equipment.


Funding in 2014.
Application for financing project through public funds in 2014. In Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina must be ready by the
end of July 2013. Funds/resources that could be obtained would be on dispositions in March 2014.

In Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia source of funding could be the same City council for culture and Ministry of
culture because they are main source of funds for National theatre or influential and well budgeted festivals mentioned before, in Sarajevo,
Ljubljana, Belgrade and Skopje. All of them could be easily attach to the project in frame of regional cultural collaboration lead by Dubrovnik
summer festival. Important is to have credible announcement of project Tesla with booklet and let them know in time. Presentation could be
done with personal visit from director of DSF and Serafini team, in time frame that gives them enough time to include the Tesla project in their
budget
Corporate funds:
Croatian corporations are the strongest and most present in the region of ex-Yugoslavia, few of them have a well structured funding of art and
constant need to build the best possible reputation in region as the market leader. National Electric Companies of all countries in the region,
Tobacco industry, fine electronics , mobile communications, car industry and soft drinks are our target.
International corporations operating in region of Ex Yugoslavia could also be interested in sponsorship perhaps even on global level Nokia,
HTC, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, etc

Project Tesla - short summary of activities
2012
OCTOBER
Emil Matei develops first idea about project Tesla and presents it to Robert Wilson during his stay in Zagreb. Bob agreed with outlines
of Tesla project and green lighted creative credits for writer (Vladimir S.) and choreographer (Emil M.) and suggested that document
should be done in form of presentations and sent to CPA soon as possible.
Writer came up with research about Tesla days in Prague and Paris and amazing lack of information about his activities there surfaced.
Through due diligence writer found in Tesla's autobiography strong affinity for esoteric teaching in a wake of esoteric rebirth in Europe.

NOVEMBER
Emil presents the idea of the Tesla project to deputy of Croatian Minister of culture who immediately catches it and offers financial help.
Emil presents idea of project Tesla to new program director of Dubrovnik summer festival. Hes agreed to be regional executive co-
producer and immediately starts to look how to secure funds and logistic.
Emil M. writes about project Tesla to CPA, to Elisabetta di Mambro
CPA gives first opinion on Emil's proposed production developments and corrections should be made.
We have prepared tentative list of activities from December 2012. to October 2014.
Upon request and feedback from Elisabetta we could start to create a step by step plan forrealization of Tesla project up to 2014.
It could be wise to mention again that Dubrovnik Summer festival opens on 10.07. 2014. and closes at 25.08. 2014. or a week later. Because
of Bobs Watermill activities we could have here some sort of date conflicts. We are fully aware that Watermill activities, that are held in
June/July, are very important to everybody around Bob. We are also aware that last three Benefit dinners were held in the last week of July.
Many combinations are possible, and in good will DSF and CPA could always find solutions that would open timeframe for rehearsals and
premiere in Dubrovnik

1881.TeslaWorksInBudapest
Tesla's Uncle Pavle arranges for Tesla to work for Ferenc Puskas at the Budapest Telephone Exchange in Hungary, which was then
underconstruction.WhenTeslaarrived,hefoundthatthenewbusinesswasnotanywherenearoperationalandinsteadworkedasa
draftsman in the Central Telegraph Office. Within a few months, the Budapest Telephone Exchange became operational and Tesla
was assigned the position of Chief Electrician. During his employment, Tesla made numerous improvements to the equipment and
developedanamplifierdevice.

Tesla,obsessedwithsolvingtheriddleofA.C.,suffersamentalbreakdownandisn'texpectedtolive.Ashorttimelater,Teslabegins
to recover and during a walk in the Varosliget city park of Budapest (Hungary) with friend Anthony Szigety, the solution comes to
Tesla in a vision. In his recollection of the event, Tesla states that he looked at the setting sun and began to recite a passage from
Goethe'sFaust.Atthatverymomenttheideacametohiminaflashandhedrewadiagramofthemotorinthesandwithastick.
1882.:TeslaTakesJobInParis

TeslaandhisgoodfriendAnthonySzigetyacceptedpositionswiththeContinentalEdisonCompany,whichhadrecentlybeenstarted
inParis.TeslaworkedforCharlesBatchelorattheIvrysurSeinelampfactoryandinstalledlightingsystemsintheParisOperaHouse
andatheaterinBavaria.HesubmittedaplanforimprovingtheEdisondynamostoMr.Rau,anadministratorforthecompany.The
planwasapprovedandsoonTesla'sautomaticregulatorwasgratefullyaccepted.Teslawaslikelyexpectingtobecompensatedbut
