Quite a lot of them are facing issues with the KDZ method, hence I recommend this method to

get ICS on your phone. In this method you will be using SmartFlash Tool.
1. Download SmartFlash Tool (mirror) [password: radkor@XDA] and unzip the files.
2. Download .bin and .fls files for the official ICS ROM from this link and unzip them to
get the two files.
3. Run B_SmartFlashTool_Extern.exe
4. In SmartFlash Tool (SFT) select ROM copy D/L
5. In select mode, choose Normal mode.
6. In CP bin, select the .fls file. In AP bin, select the .bin file
7. The next step is to put your phone into s/w update mode. To do this, remove the battery
of your phone and re-insert it (dont turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and
connect the phone to PC via USB. It should now show S/W upgrade Please wait.
8. Choose COM port.
9. choose LGE Mobile USB Serial Port in Communication Driver.
The SmartFlashTool must look like this (Ignore the file names)

10. Click on Start button and wait for the firmware to be flashed. You should see the
following screens:


Finally when the process is complete, you should see this:

Flash Using KDZ Updater
1. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer. Download this KDZ file.
2. The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it and restart your PC. This
will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue.
3. The next step is to put your phone into s/w update mode. To do this, remove the battery
of your phone and re-insert it (dont turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and
connect the phone to PC via USB. It should now show S/W upgrade Please wait.
4. Run KDZ updater as Administrator.
5. Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and
KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 1.
6. Click on Launch Software Update button.
7. This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on
your phone.
8. If everything goes well, you will see Finished written in the log screen and your phone
will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.
9. The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. This is normal!
10. The phone may start in Arabic language but do not do anything for a while after the
phone boots up and then you will be able to select your desired language.
