sYNOPSIS

This project is aimed at developing warehouse management
System should ensure that the supplier is able to respond to the change in
the demand very fast. Entire production should change from traditional push
system to pull system to facilitate rapid response. Instead of stocking, the
goods and supplying on demand, orders are executed on shipment to
shipment basis information Technology plays an important role here as an
enabler. IT helps management in producing and delivering goods when the
consumer needs them. Now the management resolves these deficiencies and
slashes down costs. The Visual Logistics suite of products supports freight
transport planners and traffic office managers with purpose built tools to
support their decision making reduce the burden of their administration
improve their communication and, step-change their efficiency Additionally,
the transport plan output from the visual logistics systems can be converted
to an event list output that links to vehicle systems to give real-time event
management and exception alerts. At the heart of the Visual Logistics freight
transport systems is a powerful match engine that identifies all of the jobs
within its scope that can be done by each asset and all of the assets that
could do each job. The scope of the system can be single site, multi-site,
multi-company community or freight marketplace.

. 2.SYSTEM STUDY

System Study may be defined as the process of dividing the problem into parts,
identifying each part and establishing relationship in the part. System Study is a detailed study of
the various operations performed by a system and relationship within and outside of the system.
System Study is a continuing activity at all stages of the project. It is the process of studying
problem to find the best solution to the problem, by which the existing problems are understood.
Objectives and requirements are defined and the solution is evaluated. Once system study is
complicated, the analyst has a firm understanding of what is to be done. System study consists of
two sub phases planning and requirements definition. They include understanding the customers
problem, performing a feasibility study, developing a recommended solution strategy,
determining the acceptance criteria and planning the development process. The products of the
planning are system definition and project plan. The system definition typically expressed in
English or some other languages and may incorporate charts, figures, graphs, tables and
equations of various kinds. The exact notations used in system definition and highly dependent
on the problem area. Obviously, one uses different terminology to describe a process control
system. System Study is defined as the procedure by which are breakdown and intellectual or
substantial whole into parts are components.

2.1 EXISTING SYSTEM

Products are ordered, billed/invoiced, handled, packaged, packed, wrapped, bundled,
sorted, crated, and braced. The order of booking cannot be done easily in the existing system.
Products are assembled and stored, warehoused, loaded, unloaded, shelved, displayed and cross
docked. The details are maintained in the record system and it will be handled by manual.
Products are exported, imported, documented marked and consolidated. Products are recycled
and disposed easily. Logistics customers service standards are set(time, availability, errors etc).

2.1.1 DISADVANTAGES
The challenges in the present system due the lack of maintenance software are:
No tracking.
Didnt maintain customers record properly.
No warehouse Design.
Involves large man power.
Requires huge paper work and maintenance of paper in records.
The system is deprecated.
The old system is inflexible.
Not suitable for the latest technology.
