100 Websites You Should Know and
Use (updated!)
In the spring of 2007, J ulius Wiedemann, editor in charge at Taschen GmbH, gave a
legendary TED University talk: an ultra-fast-moving ride through the 100 websites you
should know and use. Six years later, it remains one of the most viewed TED blog posts
ever. Time for an update? We think so. Below, the 2013 edition of the 100 websites to put
on your radar and in your browser.
To see the original list, click here. While most of these sites are still going strong and
remain wonderful resources, weve crossed out any that are no longer functioning. And
because there are so many amazing resources out there, please add your own ideas in
the comments. Happy surfing!

There are seven different words in Dothraki for
striking another person with a sword. Among
them: hlizikh, a wild but powerful
strike; hrakkarikh,a quick and accurate
strike; and gezrikh, a fake-out or decoy
strike. But you wont find these words in
George R. R. Martins epic series A Song of

some very good links in there, thanks.
However, it is disappointing you guys too fell for the J akob Nielsen hype. If all sites looked like
useit.com, most of us wouldnt be here.

Thank you for the list. There are some that I visit regularly, and others that I will check out first
hand.
I am disappointed my blog (www.TalkTurkey.us) is not on the list however. Maybe next year.

What an excellent thought-provoking and inspiring list of web sites. And how overwhelming it
can be if you start looking through the web sites that are mentioned. And then get off on other
web sites that are listed on those web sites.
Well, I guess Ill start out by looking at one or two (of the ones I dont know yet) a day.
Thanks for posting this.
