Tender No 3424233.024.10.001E Design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning
of NEW 25 kV AC double unit traction station at Vryheid East.

1. Site

Site is situated at Vryheid East main rail junction approx. 3 km out sde of the town.
Access to site is via tarred roads in good condition.
This is a Greenfield site and no services are available on site.

2. Activitys to be performed.

Design, construct and commission a double unit traction station consisting of:

2 x 88 kV primary feeders 2 phase ( SA, Isolator with ES, VTs, Breaker , Cts)
2 x 20 MVA traction transformers with Primary SA (88/25 kV)
2 x 25 kV secondary main incomers. ( CB, Isolator, Cts)
1 x 25 kV Bus bar with bus coupler and Vts.
7 x 25 kV track feeders (CB, SA, Isolator).
2 x 16 kVA Aux trfr with DOFL
All steel work to be designed and supplied.
All civil works, incl design and execution to complete the station.
Platform for Eskom station.
Steel palisade fencing for complete station incl Eskom
Control room (Prefab building, Isobodies)

1. Site

Site is situated at Sheepmoor approx. 40 km from Ermelo on the Piet Retief road.
Access to site is via tarred roads in good condition.
This is a Greenfield site and no services are available on site.
Site power could possibly be arranged with Eskom there is a trfr close by. Water will
have to be arranged from the local community.
The local community is approx. 100m from the proposed site and will have to be
involved in the construction otherwise there will be issues of unrest.

2. Activitys to be performed.

Design, construct and commission a double unit traction station consisting of:

2 x 88 kV primary feeders 2 phase ( SA, Isolator with ES, VTs, Breaker , Cts)
2 x 20 MVA traction transformers with Primary SA (88/25 kV)
2 x 25 kV secondary main incomers. ( CB, Isolator, Cts)
1 x 25 kV Bus bar with bus coupler and Vts.
4 x 25 kV track feeders (CB, SA, Isolator).
2 x 16 kVA Aux trfr with DOFL
All steel work to be designed and supplied.
All civil works, incl design and execution to complete the station.

4. Concerns

Security will have to be on site full time theft is a problem.
A very secure and decent site camp will have to be constructed.
Buy in from the local community.
Working next to cemetery so we have to be sure that all necessary arrangements
and permissions are in order.

1. Site

Site is situated at Dumbe just outside Paulpietersburg
Access to site is via Transnet service road
This is a brownfieldsite and no services are available on site.


2. Activitys to be performed.

Design, construct and commission a double unit traction station consisting of:

1 x 88 kV primary feeders 2 phase ( SA, Isolator with ES, VTs, Breaker , Cts)
1 x 20 MVA traction transformers with Primary SA (88/25 kV)
1 x 25 kV secondary main incomers. ( CB, Isolator, Cts)
1 x 25 kV Bus bar
1 x 25 kV track feeder (CB, SA, Isolator).
All steel work to be designed and supplied.
All civil works, incl design and execution to complete the station.

4. Concerns
Access to site is difficult only via road next to rail.
Transformer will have to be transported under rail track through culvert,
culvert may not be big enough to accommodate lowbed.
Access road very narrow at some places

5 Clarifications

F2.1 SD Min 25% to be scored before technical evaluation will be
considered.
Region is defined as with in 150km from site
Technical compliance will be evaluated on a clause by clause compliance to
spec.
Materials and equipment to be ordered only after design approved.
No ROE to be entertained by Transnet.
If not priced in bill it will be assumed that it is costed in somewhere else and
not compensated later.
Addendum to BOM to be sent from client as fence spec has changed
Geotech and civil bom to be sent by client.
High level design to accompany tender as well as type test cert for equipment
ordered.
No alternative will be considered.
Telecontrol system to be supplied, client to forward spec.
No own terms and conditions will be accepted.
Perf bond as per tender example word for word.
Batterys NiCad 30 ah rating.
Building to have bottom entry for control cables.
Distance protection Protector Relay to be used.
Working in close proximity to live rail line
