A) OBJETIVOS
La Arqueologa ha estado sujeta a grandes cambios durante los ltimos cuarenta aos durante los cuales se han explicitado una serie de programas de investigacin que produjeron importantes modificaciones en los objetivos que debe perseguir la investigacin arqueolgica, como as tambin en la metodologa implementada. Su resultado fue un abanico de teoras puestas en juego para ser empleadas en la disciplina, la discusin de su objeto de estudio y la tensin metodolgica entre objetivismo y subjetivismo. El presente programa de la materia destaca el anlisis de conceptos epistemolgicos bsicos y su empleo por parte de las corrientes o paradigmas actuales. Asimismo, se enfatizar un criterio histrico para estudiar la diversidad terica que caracteriza a la arqueologa actual. Asimismo, a travs del anlisis de estudios sobre complejidad social analizaremos los diferentes enfoques tericos actuales. Para lograr estos objetivos se pone especial atencin en la lectura y discusin crtica de los autores originales de cada propuesta y en las aplicaciones particulares de tales propuestas que se han llevado a cabo en los principales campos de la arqueologa. La base de los trabajos prcticos ser la lectura de las propuestas tericas y metodolgicas originales de las principales corrientes tericas en la arqueologa de los ltimos cincuenta aos.

E) CRITERIOS DE ORGANIZACION
Los trabajos prcticos sern organizados con grupos coordinados por el JTP y los auxiliares docentes, junto a los adscriptos, lo que permite trabajar ms directamente con los alumnos. La bibliografa propuesta puede ser modificada en algunos casos segn necesidades que surjan durante el curso.
Para mantener la regularidad se requiere un mnimo del 75% de asistencia a tericos y prcticos, y la entrega en tiempo y forma de los trabajos prcticos.
F) CRITERIOS DE EVALUACION
Los alumnos rendirn dos exmenes parciales y una nota de concepto relacionada con la entrega en tiempo y forma de los trabajos prcticos que se promediarn. Para mantener la regularidad se exige un promedio mnimo de 4 (cuatro) puntos (aprobado) en los exmenes parciales.
