Learning outcomes : At the end of the lesson, the pupils will :
1.5.1 state tools for measuring mass
1.5.2 state the standard unit for mass in the metric system
1.5.3 measure the mass of an object using the correct
technique
1.5.4 record the measurement using standard unit
Prior knowledge : The students know the meaning of the mass
KPS : communication, observing
KBKK : correlating the prior knowledge with the new knowledge
learned.
BBM : compressing balance, manila card, some pictures of tools
for measuring mass, books, markers

1. Teacher tells the students the
exact standard unit of mass in
metric system.
2. Teacher also tell the other units
that we can use to measure mass.
3.using one of the balance such as
compressing balance, teacher
make a demonstration on how to
use the balance and how to take
the measurement of mass with the
correct technique.
4. Teacher list down on the
blackboard about the precaution
while taking the measurement.

Correct

1. After that, students will be
divided into 5 groups .
2. Each group will be given a
manila card and some pictures of
things that have mass.
3. Each group must make a table to
classify the things and tools that
suitable to measure the mass.
4. They must also include the
suitable units for each thing given
5. Then, each group must weight
one same book using any suitable
balance and record the
measurement.
6. Then, each group must present
their work at the front of class.
7. teacher and students will
discuss together if there are any
wrong answer or the mass of book
is different between each group.
