The cost of paint is Rs. 60 per kg. A
Kilogram of paint covers 20 square
feet. How much will it cost to paint
outseide the cube having 10 feet
each side?

 Surface area of cube = 6 * side * side


 Total surface area = 6*10*10 = 600

 The rate = cost / area = 60/20 = 3 per


square feet.
 Thus total cost is 600 * 3 = 1800 answer.

order at the rate of 5% per month. If
the current rate is 40 per dollar,
what is the rate at the end of 2
month.
 The exchange rate increases @ 5%.

The sum of squares of 2 numbers is
1700 and difference of their squares
is 348. what are the numbers?
 X^2 +y^2 = 1700
 X^2 – y^2 = 348

 2x^2 = 2048 or x^2 = 1024 or X = 32.

 1024 – y^2 = 348

 -y^2 = -676 or Y = 26

 The numbers are 32 and 26 answer.

be satisfied if :

 Solution: try from options:

 Distance to travel = 200
 Relative speed = 14-5 = 9.

2.5 meters per second.
 Thus time required is 200 / 2.5 = 80
seconds answer.

Y = X means both are passing from zero
also ( when X = 0, y is also 0) thus both
are passing from origin. Thus this like is

Equation is 6x^2 -15x -8. what is
its discriminant?
 Discriminant = b^2 -4ac
 B= -15, c = -8 and a =6

 Thus : 225 – (4*6*(-8))

 =225+192

 = 417 (answer).

Y=5x-x^2-3, if x is real?
 The formulae for maximum value is :
 (4ac – b^2 ) / 4a

 Here b = 5, a = -1 and c = -3.

 Thus answer is :

 (4*(-1) (-3) – 25) / -4

 =-13 / -4 or 13/4 answer.

 Let us count all 5 digit numbers (with or

From 20 toffees, 15 namkeens and
10 icecreams, how many
combinations can a person form?
A person has 21 choices for toffee (one
for not taking any tofee), 16 choices for
namkeens and 11 choices for icecreams.
 Thus his total choices are :
 21*16*11 =3696. Supposing he has to
take at least one out of these.
 Thus total choices are 3696-1 = 3695
answer.

Find the least number, which when
divided by 14,15,16 leaves remainder
1,2,3, respectively?
 Let us find LCM first: LCM of 14,15,16 is:
 1680.
 When we divide by 14, remainder should be 1,
we know that 14-1 = 13, similarly for 15 also,
we have to either reduct by 13 or add 2. (thus
we should subtract 13 from the number).
 Similar condition apply to 14 & 15.
 Thus 1680-13 = 1667 answer.
