LENT 2013 CALENDAR

7 Holy Virtues

SEVEN HOLY VIRTUES
This Lent, as we explore how the 7 deadly sins impact all of our lives in our Teaching Series, we also want
to reflect on how we can more fully live into the 7 holy virtues, or fruits of the spirit, as they are also
known. Beginning with the Sunday before Ash Wednesday, this calendar provides 7 full weeks of daily
invitations for entering further into the Lenten season. Each day you and your household, whether youre
family members, housemates, or simply a gathering of friends, will have the opportunity to engage in a
particular activity around the designated weekly virtue. These rhythms are designed to help you let go of
your normal routine and truly engage this season with your heart.

Week 1: Feb 10-16
Kindness [Compassion + Empathy]

Sunday: Celebrate
Every Sunday during Lent we break our fast in celebration of Jesus Resurrection. Join others for a meal
and give thanks for Gods extravagant grace.

Monday: Fast

and take notice of your environment. Ask for Gods peace to fill the moments of silence.

Tuesday: Read

Ash Wednesday: Pray
Attend an Ash Wednesday Service. Then, read Galatians 5v13-26, and pray that God would sow the fruits
of the Spirit into your life.

Thursday: Reflect

them.

Friday: Offer

neighbors driveway, offer to care for someones kids for a couple hours so that they can have a break,
etc.].

Saturday: Remember
Take 15 minutes either before or after dinner and reflect on your week. When did you feel the greatest
connection to God, yourself, others, and creation? When did you feel the least sense of connection? What
