Even if you dont sew there are many ways you can help:

1) cut 6 elastic
2) cut 38 bias tape
3) cut arm holes
4) sort finished dresses
5) put bias tape with a matching pillow case.

Delores Paynes son-in-law and granddaughter will be at the
Pinterest Night. They have been on mission trips to Haiti and will
be sharing their experiences.

We would like everyone to bring an appetizer. If you have found
an appetizer on Pinterest that you really like, bring it to share!

THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

This week at the North American Christian Convention in
Indianapolis, one speaker made the following comment. He
said, If you show me who you are listening to, I will
show you who you are becoming. Let that sink in for a
minute! Now ask yourself, Who are you listening to? 1
Corinthians 15:33 says, Do not be misled: Bad company
corrupts good moral character.
Are you listening to those who
1) Think they know everything? First of all, they dont know
everything and to think that they do shows great pride.
Beware of the man who thinks he has every answer to lifes
great questions. Dont emulate him! 1 Cor. 1:20-25 says:
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the
philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the
wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the
world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased
through the foolishness of what was preached to save those
who believe25For the foolishness of God is wiser than
mans wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than
mans strength.
2) Have a negative, critical spirit? This person usually seeks
to be as miserable to everyone as he feels about himself.
Dont emulate him! 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, And we take
captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
3) Are not basing their life on the Word of God? This person
decides to live by his own opinion; his own version of truth.
Dont emulate him! 1 Thessalonians 2:13 says, Therefore,
we never stop thanking God that when you received His
message from us, you didnt think of our words as mere
human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very Word
of God-which of course it is. And this Word continues to work
in you who believe.
4) Follow the Spirits lead? To me, this is the best approach,
if you have seen evidence that they seek Christ first, and
make decisions not on the flesh but by the Spirit of God.
Romans 8:13 says, For if you live according to the flesh, you
will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of
the body, you will live.
This is just a sampling of whom we are listening? I just want
us to be honest in our assessment. Again, If you show me
who you are listening to, I will show you who you are
becoming. May we become ever more like our Savior,
Jesus Christ.

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

SCHEDULE CHANGE: During the months
of July and August, with the approval of our
Elders, I am reducing my working hours to just
one day per week, or approximately 8 hours. I
will, normally, be available each Wednesday. I
will, however, remain available, on other days,
for special needs or emergencies.

KEENAGERS TRIP IN JULY: On
Wednesday, July 30, we are visiting the historic
Zoar Village which is located just north of
Strasburg, Ohio. This village was settled in
1817 by German Separatists who came to this
country seeking religious freedom. The village
thrived for some 80 years and is, today,
inhabited by about 75 families living in
buildings constructed from 1817 to the present.
We will be learning about the Zoarites unique
religion and history. Cart transportation, for a
limited number, is available for those who might
have difficulty walking. The cost, per person, is
$13. This includes admission and travel. Lunch
will be on your own, at the Manor Restaurant in
Strasburg. Our departure time is 7:30 am. A
sign-up sheet is posted.

MI DWEEK BI BLE STUDI ES: These
sessions are being suspended, as is our custom,
during the months of July and August. Watch
this space for announcements regarding future
studies.

COMI NG KEENAGER EVENTS:
-August 27: A trip to Amish Country. We will
be visiting the new David Warther Carvings
display, near Sugarcreek (not to be confused
with the Warther Museum in Dover) and
stopping by our favorite cheese shops. (Watch
for details!)

-September 9: The New Horizons Retreat,
which is held annually at the North Terrace
Church of Christ in Zanesville. (More
information later.)

FI NAL THOUGHT: In our youth we want to
change the world but in our older years we want
to change youth.

Annual Church Picnic
Sunday, August 3
rd

There is a sign-up sheet on the
bulletin board for anyone who
would like to help with the picnic.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE!
At FACC, we focus on loving
God, loving people, and turning
the world upside down.

We are happy you chose to worship
with us today. We hope you return next
week and bring your friends with you. If
you would please take a few minutes to
fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located
on the back of the pew, you can then
place it in the offering plate as it is
passed. Thank you. For more
information about our great church,
contact our minister, Brad Seevers at
Brad@new-churches.org or call him at
740.550.9882. Have a great week and
may God bless your life.

Core Values...

Values central to the life, mission and
vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are:

Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our
music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-
based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our
authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance
Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony &
live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity
of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism,
proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-
Coming King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry
After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to
find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to
serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His
church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of
Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks
a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other
words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change
your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical
marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah
56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).

How Can I Respond Today?
At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all
issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear
concerning what a person must do to become a
Christian.
Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation.
Turn (repent) from the sin in your life.
Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord
of your life.
Be baptized (immersed) in water for the
forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy
Spirit into your life.
To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you
come forward during our commitment song at the
conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers
are welcome to become members at FACC by coming
forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior
Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you
complete a series of Curious classes to help you
better understand what you are committing to as a
member. If you would like to take a Curious class,
please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card.
