Indians in Australia :Is it racism or attention plot.

Indians have been moving to different places throughout the world since last 100-
150 years . Some to find better opuurtunities,so to say and some because their
erstwhile masters asked them to , anyways we made it a point to take our culture
and our religion with us, which is a good thing in itself and thats where similarities
end.

Although we take great care in selecting the country of our choice and the
potential "money markets" and once we reach there we think we are one of
them , but the difference is we take our indian styles and ways of thinking there .
Instead of trying to adapt to their lifestyles and their mannerism , we end up
being mixtures of both , "Jack of all trades , master of none " , to be more precise
, we neither remain fully indian ( in term of speaking and acting) neither are we
able to completely adapt to the way of living of the people of the country we are
in .

Just take an eg. from an incident that happened to my family during a trip to
singapore , at one of the railway stations the locals and foreigner had q'd up in a
civilised manner and were waiting for train to arrive . Enter , a group of "gujaratis"
as usual they have a very peculiar way of speaking and their communication
skills are at the least , not very amusing in my view . They were talking amongst
themselves as if each of them is ina separate country and their is long distance
trunk call going on . All this understand the sign saying " please keep noise to a
minimum " , after they finished talking they made a sole ood outlet their next
target , bought burgers and sat on the bench right underneath of the sign which
said " keep the station clean" and they did exactly what was expected of them,
they messed place around , dropping mayonnaise and ketchup all along .
Although they were asked to cough up a hefty amounty as fines for littering , that
did not numb their senses. The noisy group had by now occupied positions near
the plateforms where the doors of the train were supposed to align . They
occupied it in such a way that no other passengers could use those particular
doors creating a very messy situation .

This is one incident , now lets focus our attention to the Australian incidents . In
my view these are sporadic incidents and should be not pictured as " Racist",
although a very small margin of them might be racially inspired . The main
reason why these are coming to light is because a certain Tv channel is hell bent
on increasing its TRP's or the "Indian Instinct" overpowered some student and
workers which made them instigate those people . No one is looking into this side
and as a result of retaliation from both sides this has led to a very ugly scenario .
These people need to realise that they are in someone else's country and they
will need to understand and act according to the local requirements . They dont
realise that their actions will amount to a very different reaction in that country
whereas they might not be taken that seriously in India .

There is also a "Groupism" issue , especially with students as they tend to stay
together, 6-7 people cramped up in a 2 bedroom house, one on top of the other,
no regards for personal hygiene or for the someone elses property. Second , The
people dont really care about other persons comfort level , as in I have had
people knocking at my door at 2-3 am in the night to ask for a light !!!! What the
hell!!! man ....

We need to grow up and sociallise try to understand other cultures and societies
and their workings...We might have succeded in our professional life but we lag
behind drastically in our social lives.

I take pity at all the poeple back home who are taking the bait by reacting to the
incidents in Australia and our job less governemnts as usual instead of taking
steps to educate people going abroad, we are still following the worthless
gandhian philosphy , which of course we should have learnt that doesnt hold
good in todays world.This is the condition of our people and politicians , who
have a poius issue like religion a ppolitical one on the other hand they ask a
sovereign government to react to such issues .

This protest comes from a country which perfected the caste system and used it
against its own people with deadly precision , blaming it on holy books . I dont
know which books are they talking about , i dont remmeber reading any book
which delegates such authority to any1 , let alone a priest or a king. Just for
quoting -- Rig Veda, Brahma sutra 3:16 -- " there is one god , nothing but one go
and only one god and that is nature . No other god shall stand before mother
nature " , if thats true and hindus take the vedas as Holy books , some one tell
me why are there 27 million gods and goddesses in the country .

But still we are voting for them as if we have become slaves of the materialistic
world , GROW UP INDIA OPEN YOUR EYES !!! SELECT YOUR LEADERS
CAREFULLY AND BE A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE AROUND
YOU .

India: Are we an intolerant nation

India has been a free entity since time immemorial...we have had several rulers
and princes but never had we witnessed all this pain and sorrow as we have
done i last 40 year....for what ...just for vested interests...all this is handy work of
all those saffron clad-pro hindu organiztion who claim to "cleanse" mother india
of her dirt...all bull shit...these people are majorly responsible for all the
unrest...and alll we can do is just sit coz...the government doesnt give us enough
power to act against such org....ther is no freedom to exdpress ouir views against
the people incvolved...india might be developing but only finnacially....mindset
still says below the required level...all they do is brag...condition in india is at
least as far as i can percieve is beyond reckoning ...untill thjese act. and
organization(VHP etc.) are put on ahold...they cause major brain-drain by
recruiting rather "luring" educated youth into their cadres....our religion teaches
us tolerance...to stay in harmony with our...thats how we were dwelling for past
4500 years untill these anti -- religion org. cropped up to propagate
"hinduism"....HAVE WE BECOME SO INTOLERANT IN 4500 YEARS OF OUR
EXISTENCE THAT WE CANNOT COEXIST WHICH OUR BROTHERS AND
SISTERs OF DIFFERENT FAITH.......its time we wake up..to such
matterz...befor its too late and these worms(eg:VHP) bore through the fabric of
our integrity..
