InYoga Centers 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Immersion Program
Vinyasa Krama: Yoga for Everyone
January 24 April 13, 2014

LIKELY QUESTIONS (AND ANSWERS!)

IVE ONLY BEEN DOING YOGA FOR 6 MONTHS. CAN I DO TEACHER TRAINING?
Yes, TT is for "everyone" - every level of student. It is based on the same guiding principles as our
studio: every body is different, and therefore yoga is different for everybody.

Some of our trainees will have only 3-12 months of yoga practice; others will have many years of
experience. Yoga is a journey; its a process. Our program is based on the yogic concept of Vinyasa
Krama (a step-by-step approach). We encourage each student to start where they are, and
consciously progress their practice, deepening their understanding of yoga. Well start where we
are together.

Its for people who want to become 200 HR registered yoga teachers (RYT). With successful
completion of the training and its requirements, youll receive a certification of completion, with
which you can register as an RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance.

AND, its also for enthusiastic students who want to enhance their studies of this amazing,
transformative practice. Students who want to learn about yoga history and philosophy.

Whether you're interested in becoming a teacher or growing your personal practice - this program is
for you!

WHEN DOES THE TRAINING BEGIN? HOW DOES IT WORK?
InYogas Yoga Alliance approved training begins on Friday, Jan. 24 and ends on Sunday, April 13.
Prior to the start of training, we are planning four informational gatherings to present program details
and spend time addressing all of your questions. Dates & times TBD.

The training including practice, labs, lectures, class observations/assisting, quizzes/tests, practice
teaching & more is over a 12-week period on weekends. (12 consecutive weekends). Hours are:
Fridays, 6:00-9:00pm; Saturdays 12-6pm; Sundays 12-6pm.

The program is well-rounded, comprehensive and rigorous physically, emotionally and
intellectually. A profound, intense experience for everyone involved both trainees and teacher-
trainers alike.

WHO IS LEADING THE TRAINING? WHAT WILL THE TRAINING INCLUDE?
InYoga teacher favorites Trisha DeCesare (E-RYT 200), Maria Cristina Jimenez (E-RYT 500), Joe
Kara (E-RYT 200) and Clio Manuelian (E-RYT 500) serve as the primary instructors. Julie Buckner
(RYT 200) and Kelly Simonsen (RYT 200,) are Program Director and Program Manager, respectively.

#

Together and separately, our teachers will lead Asana practice and labs, will work with you on
teaching techniques and methodology, and lead discussions and conversations about yoga
philosophy and how it applies to your everyday life (on and off the mat). Please expect homework,
reading assignments, quizzes/tests and extra classes/class observations outside of the training
hours.

Yoga Alliance also sets requirements for its yoga schools to provide substantial hours in anatomy
and physiology, subtle body energy, yoga teacher ethics and the business of yoga.

Our school emphasis is on self-discovery, safe alignment and focused flow. To that end, well study
the development of modern Hatha from the Krishnamacharya lineage, as taught by BKS Iyengar and
Pattabhi Jois.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN?

The tuition fee is $2,900 if paid in full by December 15, 2013; $3,250 thereafter. A $500 non-
refundable deposit (included in tuition) is required to reserve your spot in the training, as space is
limited.

In addition to the training itself, tuition includes:
1. Unlimited yoga classes at InYoga Center are included with fully paid tuition. Current
members & package holders will be put on pause during this time
2. InYoga Center 200 HR Teacher Training Manual

Books are an additional cost; InYoga extends discounts on required books. The books are available
before training begins at InYogas store, SEEDS.

Payment plans are available on a case-by-case basis. Please discuss all financial and logistical
issues with Kelly.

Full payment is required before training begins.

As you plan your year ahead and as the 2013 holiday season approaches you may want to
consider asking family and friends (who customarily buy gifts for you during the holidays) to instead
contribute towards your 2014 Yoga Teacher Training. The gift of yoga is incredibly meaningful.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE?
InYogas teacher training does not require - nor does it expect - students to be "advanced yogis.
(We don't have to be able to "perform" certain poses or have practiced yoga for x# of years.) The
important thing is to become very engaged in your current study of yoga.

Teacher Training is physically challenging and demanding. Each daytime session will include a
minimum 2-hours of Asana practice. We recommend that students be in good health and optimal
physical condition.

We recommend you practice as much as possible in the coming months to become well prepared -

$
physically, psychologically, intellectually - for a program that will challenge you in each of these
ways.

We recommend that you maintain a regular, consistent, dedicated yoga practice here at the studio.
What does that mean? It means you make a commitment to practice yoga (of any kind) at least 3
times a week. Practice 4-6 times a week is radically encouraged.

We also encourage students to attend InYogas, as well as other, workshop offerings. Not only will
you learn a lot about the practice (and yourself!), your participation will help you decide whether
indeed teacher training is a good path for you.

If youre a reader, you might enjoy helping yourself to a little light reading were happy to
recommend books and texts that may be particularly enlightening for you.

CAN I STILL DO IT EVEN IF IM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I DONT WANT TO BE A TEACHER?
Yes. The program is named Teacher Training AND Yoga Immersion for that very reason. We
know that many who enroll in TT may not be seeking teaching positions upon completion of the
training. In our own TT experiences at the 200 hour level, roughly 1/2 of participants are there for no
other purpose than to grow. Alternatively, some trainees will already have a teaching credential;
some may even be teaching already. The group will be mixed and diverse; and thats part of the
beauty and benefit of TT at InYoga.

I WANT TO TEACH. WILL THIS PROGRAM ENABLE ME TO BECOME A YOGA TEACHER? DO I
NEED ANY OTHER CREDENTIALS OR LICENSES?
Upon successful completion of the program requirements, you will be able to register with Yoga
Alliance the governing board providing credentialing to yoga teachers and schools to become an
200 HR RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher). This is the first step toward becoming a yoga teacher.

InYogas program will offer you the tools you need to lead safe and successful group and private-
client yoga classes. As with any other career choice, the path of teaching yoga requires continued
study and exploration. This program provides a solid foundation and framework to begin this
exploration.

As mentioned above, the program addresses the techniques, methodology and philosophy and will
also cover practical information about how to get started as a teacher, including topics such as:
marketing, insurance, applying for jobs, auditioning, rates, etc.

Most yoga studios require teachers to have their 200 HR RYT to teach Hatha Yoga classes.
Specialized instruction (such as yoga therapeutics, Yin, pre- & post-natal, for example) usually
requires specialized training (usually an additional 25-40 hours). Some teachers continue training to
obtain their 500 HR advanced professional training.

HOW IS INYOGAS PROGRAM DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS?
InYoga is presenting its 200 HR Teacher Training & Yoga Immersion Program in a way that everyone
can absorb, understand and integrate into their practice, teaching and lives.

%
We dedicate considerable resources to our training program. With four dedicated primary teachers
(as well as a program director and manager), the program is expertly planned and staffed.
Additionally, we bring in outside experts to enhance our learning. These individuals bring a special
breadth and depth of experience and knowledge to our program.

The training is thorough and comprehensive.

The program is operated and organized in a professional manner.

The vibe is warm and welcoming inclusive and accessible.

We explore different traditions, systems, styles of yoga; the program is non-dogmatic.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF IM READY? IM STILL NOT SURE
Its hard to know if youre ready. Most of us never know if were really ready. We take a leap of faith
and see what happens.

Most of the people in our program will be other InYoga students. Youll see a lot of familiar faces,
getting to know them in new and different ways (probably more than youll ever want to know ;-).
Youre also be familiar with our teachers Trisha, MC, Joe, and Clio (as well as Julie & Kelly). Were
already your teachers, fellow yogis and friends. The program will feel very familiar to you; the same
welcoming, safe and fun environment weve already cultivated together here at InYoga. Teacher
training is an amazing, transformational and wonderful experience. Its going to be great!

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
A program application and deposit form is available by request.

As the training approaches, well keep you updated by email. You are also welcome to ask
questions about the curriculum of your teachers and program director & manager.

Kelly Simonsen manages all administrative matters for the training. Please direct all questions about
logistics and finances with Kelly.
