Dear Members of the Jewish Community,
We call on you to review and condemn actions taken by one of your members, Mr. Igor Kolomoisky. As you are, no doubt, aware there is a major humanitarian crisis taking place in Ukraine these days, and the crisis affects the Ukrainian Jews as well as other people. However, the crisis has developed and taken a fascist turn due to a large degree to support of Mr. Kolomoisky, the governor of the region and a prominent member of the International Jewish community.
Ukrainians Abroad (Ykpaua sa koppouor) is a non-profit organization representing and uniting Ukrainians living abroad.
We are Ukrainians currently living in United States. Some of us have been living there for a long time, whereas others were forced to leave Ukraine because of the recent numerous outbreaks of violence. Still, we consider Ukraine our motherland and are deeply concerned about its safety and safety of its citizens, among which there are our beloved ones our parents, children, brothers and sisters, friends.
We call on you to look into one of the most extreme cases of ultra-nationalism.
Ihor Kolomoyskyi is an Ukrainian-Israeli business oligarch of Jewish descent. On March 2 nd , 2014 during pro-Russian protests in Ukraine, acting President Oleksandr Turchynov appointed Kolomoyskyi governor of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Kolomoyskyi is a member of the board of trustees of the Jewish community of Dnepropetrovsk, the head of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, head of the European Council of Jewish Communities, President of the European Jewish Union. However Mr. Kolomoyskyi is financing Ukrainian neo-Nazis and foremost "right sector" fighters as well as a coup in the country.
According to the Ukrainian media, Kolomoyskyi has a direct relation to the tragedy which took place in Odessa, May 2, 2014 at the House of Trade. More than 50 people were poisoned by gas and burned to death.
Oriental Review headlined on 14 May 2014, Bloodbath in Odessa guided by interim rulers of Ukraine 1 and reported that, ten days before the tragedy a secret meeting was held in Kiev, chaired by the incumbent president Olexander Turchinov, to prepare a special operation in Odessa. Among the minister of internal affairs Arsen Avakov, the head of the Ukrainian Security Service Valentin Nalivaychenko and the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy, co-founder of Ukraine's National Socialist Party, Ukrainian oligarch Kolomoyskyi consulted in regard to the operation. Kolomoiskyi delivered his private Dnieper-1' Battalion under the command of law-enforcement officials in Odessa and also authorized a cash payment of $5,000 for each pro-Russian separatist killed during the special operation. 2
It is well-known that Kolomoyskyi financed neo-Nazi combat units in Ukraine that continue to foment civil war in Ukraine.
Ukrainians Abroad on behalf of all Ukrainians living overseas appeals to you and your organization to condemn Mr. Kolomoiskyi fascist actions and Nazi statements and to call on him to stop supporting neo-fascist and ultra-national activities in Ukraine.
We hope that you will review this information and take action.
