A Message from Fr. Peter

As you read this note of thanksgiving, I will be in Will County of the Joliet Diocese, Channahon, Illi-
nois. Already it seems like a whole new world and adventure. It is a bit lonely not knowing the people I am called
to serve. No one ever said it would be easy to say good bye and move on to a new area and parish. Priests and
Gods people mourn and grieve together because life is quickly changed and will never be the same. Here is a
quote I would like to share, Some people come into our lives and quietly go, others stay for awhile and leave
footprints in our hearts. And we are never, ever the same. Your support, prayers and companionship have
changed my life as a Priest and as a person. The Lord and my Bishop Daniel have called me to take what I have
learned and experienced from the family of Christ the King to the family of St. Ann Parish. The next chapter of
our lives continue as you await the coming of your new Pastor, Fr. Jeff, a kind, gentle and holy man. Please love
and guide Father as you have done for me. Come to know him, welcome and support him. Thats what a family
does for each other!

Thank you to the parish staff, parish council, transition committee and so many others who made the last weekend
for Bill and myself, a moment to remember. Your presence, kind words, generous giving, smiles, hugs and tears
was a special gift to me and my family.

It tells me that you love your priest and deacons, treasure the gift of the Eucharist, faithfully support the Church
and live your faith to the fullest, under the guidance of our Holy Father Francis and Bishop Daniel. Thank you for
allowing me to enter into your homes, lives and hearts.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve with the CTK staff and deacons. They have become my family, who
have always put their hearts and souls, into serving the parish. It has been a joy to be a priest for twenty five years
and to have served Christ the King for twelve years.

Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Love and prayers,
Fr. Peter Jarosz, Pastor
St. Ann Catholic Parish, Channahon, Il.
Fr. Jeff Stoneberg Biography

Father Jeff Stoneberg was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, about 20 miles west of Lombard. Father
Jeff spent his early years in Aurora, Oswego and Yorkville, and he was the oldest of
seven children. The Stoneberg family was always busy with activity, especially when it came to church
and attending Catholic schools. Father Jeffs first employer was Sears, Roebuck and Company; he later
became an Official Court Reporter for the State of Illinois in Geneva at the Kane County Courthouse.

After spending time discerning the priesthood, Father Jeff entered St. Meinrad Seminary College in
southern Indiana and later attended the seminary at St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein. Father Jeff was
ordained by Bishop Imesch in June of 1990, and was assigned to St. Michael in Wheaton. He later
served at St. Joseph in Addison, St. James in Glen Ellyn, and was assigned as pastor at St. Ann in
Channahon.

Father Jeff enjoys walking, so you will no doubt see him walking through the neighborhood on his way to
Yorktown Shopping Center or shops along Roosevelt Road. He enjoys listening to his music, prefer-
ring big band, classical and Lawrence Welk. Father Jeff spends much of his free time out in the Fox Val-
ley, having grown up in the area. In addition, his mom and dad live there in the town of Yorkville, about a
50 minute drive southwest of Lombard.

He finds the role of a priest rewarding and challenging. He looks forward to coming to Christ the King to
share his faith with others; and to grow with them in the journey we share in walking with the Lord.

Farewell to Father Peter Jarosz and Bill Runge
Good morning. My name is Mark Shutock, your Pastoral Council Chairman. On behalf of the Parish Council I would
like to bid an affectionate farewell to two remarkable men: Father Peter Jarosz and Bill Runge.
Bill Runge is a man of many talents and truly an institution here at Christ the King. His career started 25 years ago
when he became our organist. That career has culminated in his assignment as our Director of Music and Liturgy.
Bills accomplishments and contributions are many. He has effectively led the Kings Choir as well as the special
Christmas and Easter Triduum choirs, lending his musical talents to bring our choirs to new levels. He organized
fundraising to acquire our Boston Grand piano and obtained our Gather 3 permanent hymnals. He has rebuilt the
Worship Commission, this year organizing an engaging video series based on the 50
th
Anniversary of the Second
Vatican Council. He has provided guidance and support to our lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, ush-
ers and altar servers. He even served as our webmaster, creating a website in which we can all take pride.
Ive known and served with Bill for seven of those 25 years as a lector and Choir member, and I can only say that I
respect him as a leader and musician, cherish our friendship, and will miss him a great deal. As Bill leaves us to join
the Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, IL, he will leave behind a legacy of service and will be missed by
many. We have truly been blessed to have Bill as a key member of our staff.

During the twelve years Father Peter has served us as our pastor, he has tirelessly and passionately guided us in our
faith journey. He initiated our Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament program, organized programs in support of the
Right to Life initiative, and has helped us to see ourselves as a parish family and as a part of the larger extended
family of the Joliet Diocese.

I will miss the passion that Father Peter has brought to our parish. When I joined Christ the King seven years ago,
Father Peter posed the question to me, What gifts do you bring to the church? Through his encouragement and
enthusiasm, he has helped me grow in faith and become a more committed and engaged Catholic, ultimately guid-
ing me to my role as Parish Council Chairman. Im certain he has touched many others in a similar way.
Father Peter is leaving us to offer his gifts to St. Anns Parish, but he will take with him our thoughts and prayers.
Please join me in saying good-by to Father Peter and Bill.

Reflecting on Gods Word
LIFE IN THE TRINITY
The name of the Trinity is, without a doubt, the most
familiar sacred name to us. We speak it every time we
make the sign of the cross, and it forms the heart of
our Creed. Trinity Sunday is a good day, however, to
stop and reflect on the unique role of each of the three
persons we name so often in the Trinity and in our
own lives. When we celebrate the Eucharist on Sun-
day, we come together as the Body of Christ through
our baptism, and through the power of the Holy Spirit
we offer the whole prayer of the Mass to God the Fa-
ther. This presence of the Trinity does not stop when
we leave church on Sunday. We are--always and eve-
rywhere--members of the Body, and every thing we
do as members of that Body is empowered by the
Holy Spirit, all of it offered to the glory of our loving
Father.
Take a moment each day this week to reflect on how
the persons of the Trinity were present to you during
the day, and how other people came to see the pres-
ence of the Trinity in your witness to the Good News.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Out of our love for knitting and crocheting we
have developed a prayerful ministry inter-
twined with the spiritual practice that reaches out
to those in need of comfort and solace. Many
blessings are prayed into every shawl, baby blan-
ket, and lap robe we make. This service ministry
is 13 members strong to date. We started this
ministry 3 years ago out of compassion for the babies of
single mothers at Woman's Choice, the sick in the parish,
and elderly of Little Sisters of the Poor, Little Brothers of the
Poor, Dupage Convalence Home, Lexington House, and
Beacon Hill, etc. We also provide baby blankets for the still
born babies at Good Samaritan Hospital and will branch out
to include Elmhurst Hospital. Last year alone we made
1,060 items.
