Climate change is a significant and lasting change
in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years. It may be a change in the average weather conditions or a change in the distribution of weather events with respect to an average, for example, greater or fewer extreme weather events. Climate change may be limited to a specific region, or may occur across the whole Earth.
Industrialization The process in which a society or country (or world) transforms itself from a primarily agricultural society into one based on the manufacturing of goods and services. Human-caused pollution, from factories, fossil fuel combustion and other activities, is contributing to an enhanced greenhouse effect and global warming Transportation Transport is responsible for more than 20% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions which cause global warming. The real challenge lies in the fact that while other sectors have managed to reduce their emissions, in the transport sector emissions have been consistently increasing. Curbing this increase and reducing transport emissions is one of the vital steps in combating global warming. Poor Agricultural Practices Agriculture has been shown to produce significant effects on climate change, primarily through the production and release of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, but also by altering the Earth's land cover, which can change its ability to absorb or reflect heat and light, thus contributing to radiative forcing. Land use change such as deforestation and desertification, together with use of fossil fuels, are the major anthropogenic sources of carbon dioxide; agriculture itself is the major contributor to increasing methane and nitrous oxide concentrations in Earth's atmosphere. Illegal Practices Illegal logging is the harvest, transportation, purchase or sale of timber in violation of laws. The harvesting procedure itself may be illegal, including using corrupt means to gain access to forests; extraction without permission or from a protected area; the cutting of protected species; or the extraction of timber in excess of agreed limits Slash-and-burn (kaingin) is an agricultural technique which involves cutting and burning of forests or woodlands to create fields. Mining Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth from an orebody, lode, vein, seam, or reef, which forms the mineralized package of economic interest to the miner. The nature of mining processes creates a potential negative impact on the environment both during the mining operations and for years after the mine is closed. This impact has led to most of the world's nations adopting regulations to moderate the negative effects of mining operations. Improper Disposal of Garbage Waste disposal is the act of taking items that no longer have value to be destroyed.
