Bio I am a Professional Environmental Chemist with 10 years of consulting and operational experience in mining and environmental studies in Chile, South America, North America and Africa. During 9 years I worked for Golder Associates in Chile and Canada where I participated as an environmental scientist and engineer on many projects including; contaminated sites clean ups, environmental and due diligence audits, development of probabilistic site wide water balances for new and ongoing mines, mine waste and geochemical characterisations. In all these activities I participated initially as a specialist and then as project manager.
After leaving Golder I joined Barrick South America as the regional hydrologist. My responsibilities are to guide the projects and existing operations on surface water aspects. This involves the development of water management strategies for operations and closure, development of probabilistic site wide water balances and closely interacting with the Regional Environmental Group.
