We will review all of our hard work from week one which incorporated a variety of greetings and introduction vocabulary. This will include Good Morning/ Good Afternoon. We will practice this every day as a basic polite greeting. The children enoy singing the !Good morning" song to start the day too. #ther vocabulary to be reviewed will be$ Thank you. %ou"re welcome. Are you ready& %es ' am. (ello. Goodbye. See you later. )asic commands such as stand up/ sit down* stop* listen* look and be +uiet will be practiced with flash cards as a visual instruction aid. Acti$ity Ti"e ,ocabulary Sunny* rainy* cloudy* windy* snowy* hot* cold, snow* snowflake* rain* rain drop* sun* cloud. Games and Activities We will be paying close attention to the weather outside of our classroom this week- 'f it rains* we may go out and feel the rain drops- We will use a weather board which has pictures to stick up to say how our weather is today and we will discuss this together as we decide which* is the appropriate picture. We are going to be making a giant cloud out of cotton wool. This will test our gluing and sticking craft skills as well as further our weather knowledge. We also play the fly swat game to see whether the children can recognise the correct flash cards when they are called out and there is a choice of a few in front of them. #e$ie 1honics phase one is developing well and the children have so far become very familiar with the letter sounds Ss* Aa* Tt* and 'i. They are really enoying the songs and actions which accompany each sound. The characters and rhymes include$ the snake in the grass* ants on my arm* watch the tennis game and (nky the mouse. Writin! )ractice Writing practice will begin later in the semester after the phonics base is established.
