What Is A Good Leader?

In order to become an impactful leader in history, you have to display respectful
attributes. A good leader is noble to his people and doesnt quit on his subjects. They
should never take something too seriously, and has to keep relaxed through any situation,
or altercation. In A Treasury of Royal Scandals by Michael Farquhar it displays many
qualities of a good leader but also shows a decent amount of flaws. King George III,
Henry VIII, and The Borgia Family all showed qualities of great leadership, but had
faults while in power. Every king or queen has problems while in power and work it out
differently but some leaders handle it in horrible manner.
King Henry VIII showed only a few traits of a powerful leader, and I say that he
wasnt great at all. He was a king that showed his authority by being a tyrant, and
burying anyone that showed even the slightest notion against him. During his reign as
king he killed between 57,000-72,000 people. (The Tudors) King Henry was married six
different times during his power on the thrown and even had two of them executed.
(Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard) He wasnt a respectable leader because of his
decisions and how they were determined around the fact that all he wanted was a son.
Henry VIII didnt really spend ruling the country, so there for Cardinal Wolsey ran the
show while Henry VIII was sleeping around. With all of these flaws it made it impossible
for The King to be a good leader in history.
One other leader by the name of King George III, in my opinion was an even
better ruler than Henry VIII. I only say this because he actually tried and gave an effort to
better his country. The problem with King George is that he taxed the colonist after they
had already paid for lots of the war. While he had power some people say he was a tyrant
that abused his power, but he is a king and has all the right to do that. During his reign he
accompanied Great Britain, as they defeated France in war, and become a dominant
power. A good leader will never leave his subjects and King George stayed very loyal to
his country. Not only did he do that but he ended out his sentence as king on a good note
with most of the people in the country.
The family that had the most qualities of good leaders was the Borgias. I say this
only because they ran the country with a powerful and tyrannical fashion. The Borgias
all had a stable position in the whole empire. During the time they were in control, the
family kept it organized and made decisions all as a whole. A good leader should stay
calm during situations and they Borgias never panicked during rough times but they kept
moving. This is the way good leaders should display their attributes during there reign on
the thrown.
To answer the question what attributes does a good leader show and what makes a
good leader, in my opinion they should stay calm during any situation. They should also
do there job with power and dedication, and should never leave the side of his countries
people. Those qualities are shown in A Treasury of Royal Scandals. The
