Dr Bruce Lipton – Spanning Science and Spirituality

DNA rules. Or so we thought until the new sciences of Epigenetics and Physics began revolutionizing our
understanding and evaluation of life as we have known it.

Dr Bruce Lipton is a Cell Biologist, university professor, and the author of several books, including “The
Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, and Miracles”. He is also an
internationally recognized authority, from the Unites States, on the association between science and the
spirit. He has explained the basis of epigenetics and has shown that the answers to life do not lie within
the DNA, but within the mechanisms of the cell membrane. Hence, contrary to conventional theories, the
“reading” of the genes in the cell is controlled by the cell membrane, which in fact, operates in response to
environmental signals picked up by the membrane’s receptors.

Watson and Crick unraveled the structure of the DNA molecule in 1953. Based on a few experiments,
they were convinced that DNA controls life. The factor to be considered here is that this was only a
hypothesis, without any scientific validation. The current understanding of how genes work is that this
hypothesis is incorrect and that genes are merely the blueprints that are read.

In other words, your genes do not control your life, or the way you are. You are not a victim of heredity. It
is your perception of the environment you live in that determines the fate of your health.

To quote Dr Lipton, “This is very relevant to the world that we are in because we have to take back a
belief that we have power over our lives. Because our current perception is that we are victims, and since
perceptions control life, if you believe you are a victim, you become a victim. When we change our
perceptions, we can become masters. So we are moving out of “victimhood” into mastery.”

The new science plucks you from your former role of ‘victim’ and places you in a position of power, in the
role of ‘master’, because if you can change your perceptions and thoughts, you can guide, and govern the
readout of your own genes, for better or worse.

That perception and belief can cause healing that is innately a part of the body, is a fact that is taught
even in medical schools. This innate healing ability has been within humans from the time of evolution.
However, Dr Lipton points out that from the age of six onwards, as our brain patterns change, we start
acquiring perceptions of ourselves in relation to our world and in most cases, conditioning overrides this
natural ability.

Positive thought will have a definite impact on you; however Dr Lipton says that when people put it into
practice, it may not work because a vital link may be missing, that is, the recognition that the mind is
made up of two parts – the conscious and the subconscious – and what it implies. The subconscious
mind is a million times more powerful in processing information, and on an average, 95% of the time, the
subconscious mind or the auto-processor runs our lives.

The two minds work in tandem, such that, if the conscious mind is thinking about something, the
subconscious mind will perform the task at hand. This is the critical part…it will perform according to the
conditioned ‘program’ that was put there…this is most often negative, reducing your abilities.

If thoughts and emotions play such a vital role in modifying your biology and health, then handling them
becomes essential to your optimal health and well-being.

Grounded in these scientific principles, and with the knowledge that our environment affects our health,
Monish Dhawan, an ordinary man, with an extraordinary dream, has given birth to the idea of “I Want a
Positive Headline”.
Sure, if thought creates, expands, and then returns. You do want that to be a positive thought then, don’t
you? Because the quality of your life and your environment depends on it.

When the media showcases a Headline, it influences people’s thoughts, and these thoughts are what
create the reality you see all around you. “I Want a Positive Headline” encourages every person to
demand the inclusion of more positive headlines in news broadcasts and newspapers in order to generate
positive thoughts among the billions around the world who see and read them, to help build a collective
positivity, vital to well-being.

You are the master then, with the power to change your reality, one thought at a time.
