BULLETIN OUTLINE I Have a Friend WhoDoesnt Like the Way They Look 05.04.

14 Tom Oyler, Lead Pastor We are all self-conscious of our unacceptability. (Genesis 3:1-11) Cultures dictate what is acceptable. (1 Samuel 16:7; Luke 16:15; James 2:1-7) Our friends only hope is to be changed by Christ and used by Christ. (Genesis 3:21; Jeremiah 9:23-24; Romans 12:1-2; 1 Peter 3:3-4; 2 Peter 1:5-9, 3:18) LOOKING BACK I Have a Friend WhoDoesnt Like the Way They Look Lets face it. None of us are comfortable with the way we look. Why? Good question. Finding the answer for yourself will set you free, in many ways. Helping your friend find the answer will do the same for them. Why wait? What do you have to lose? Thinking It Through

The eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.
~2 Chronicles 16:9

Trying to be someone else is a waste of the person you are. If you dont like something, change it. If you cant change it, change the way you think about it. Saying someone is ugly doesnt make you any prettier.
Working it Out 1. What is your story when it comes to how you feel/think about your appearance?

2. What work do you need to do on yourself, primarily inwardly, in order to be a better friend to your friend?

3.

LOOKING AHEAD I Have a Friend WhoWants to Know the Will of God Decisions, decisions, decisions. Life is made up of them - and we know how they affect us and others. So... many of our friends want to know the will of God. That, theoretically, would make everything a lot easier. But how easy is it to know the will of God? Good question. Best thing you can do for your friend is to start asking questions. Some of them are in this study guide! Looking It Up 1. What assumptions is your friend making when they say, I just want to know what the will of God is in this situation! 2. How does the Bible counsel us to make decisions in the following areas? Becoming a church leader 1 Timothy 3:1
