Azzahra Alsaif HOMEWORK :

January 16

What classes did you take last semester? What kinds of writing did you so in each of these classes? What did you learn about writing during the past semester? What classes are you taking this semester? Carefully scan your course syllabi for each of these classes? Do you see a lot of writing taking place? What kind of writing will you be doing?

Going back to the last semester I can say that it was not easy; it was so hard, long and stressful. I took different courses. I had calculus, chemistry, English and two computer science subjects with labs. Computing professionals: The main focus of this course was engagement, whether it was behavioral, cognitive, relational, or any type of engagement. We had a lot of C++ Programming: This course is an introduction to Computer Science, which is my major. It depends on writing a lot. I can even say that it is all about writing, but this writing is

group works and discussions in this class as much as the different writings too, such as researches, assignments, essays, drafts, reflections and feedbacks. There was really so much of writing in this course, most of them were about topics that involves skills, college experience, and participation in activities, academic and nonacademic ones. Calculus: In this math course the kind of writing that we did was a little bit different from these in the other courses. We wrote notes

totally different than what we all know. In this class we did not neither write in English nor any language. We wrote using the C++ language. It is a programming language to create programs. We wrote thousands of codes in C++. It is really interesting and enjoyable.

Chemistry: In this course we also did a lot of writing, but it is not essay or research, most of the writing in this class was solutions of

and solve exercises in the class. chemistry problems which may We also did homework and exams. In all of these writings, we used only numbers. contain different things, such as calculations, definitions, units, or even drawings.

English: About this course I really can say that it was an everyday writing class. It was so obvious from the name of the course "Writing and Inquiry in Academic Contexts". We did a lot of journals, drafts, reflections and essays.

In this semester, I will be taking calculus II, English 1102, computer science, logic and algorithms and liberal study which will be about "Western History and Culture". From the syllabi for each of these courses I see that a lot of writing will take place this semester. For example, in the western history and culture course we are going to write a lot of essays. Also the English, it seems like there will be a lot of work, such as research and journals. For the computer science and the calculus I think that it is going to be the same as the last semester, but it may be just a little bit harder.
