WHICH IS CORRECT?
Both.

When you are taking standardized tests or writing formal essays, you will want to use the standard form.

In this classroom, we respect all ways of speaking and writing.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO KNOW TO CONJUGATE A VERB?


Singular Subjects
1st person (you) Ex- I am a pig.

2nd person (someone you are addressing) Ex- You are my friend, cow.

3rd person (a person you are referring to indirectly) Ex-She does not fit in.

Plural Subjects 1st person (you+ someone else) Ex- You and I, We are barn animals.

2nd person (a couple people you are addressing) Ex- You all are house pets.

3rd person (people you are talking about indirectly) Ex-They are not cool enough to be barn animals.

IT DOES MATTER! I DID TELL YOU WE WOULD WORK WITH THESE VERBS.
Todays handout does have sample sentences missing a crucial element. A conjugation of the verbs we just went over: do and have It is up to you to conjugate these verbs. Refer to the top of the page if you are having trouble. If you have trouble, circle the question number and move on. If there is additional time at the end, you can go back. This is a useful strategy for timed assignments.

Each of you is responsible for saying the answer for the sentence with your name in it.
