Tourism is becoming increasingly important as a source of revenue for many countries but its disadvantages should not be overlooked.

What are some of the problems of tourism?

Tourism is regarded as an important sector to all over the country. In all most all the countries of the world there are separate ministry of tourism. All nations are trying to showcase their respective countries to attract visitors because of the belief that with more tourist, more money will come in. It is the best way for the country to have large sum of money all occated in its budget. Eventhough, tourism contribute many advantages to the country, there are also have many disadvantages of tourism that may impact the people and environment of a tourist destination. The most obvious disadvantage is negative effect on the environment. These occur when the level of usage is bigger than the amount of caring for the environment. Uncontrolled tourism is threatening many natural areas around the world. It can put great pressure on an area and lead to negative environmental impacts on air and water quality, vegetation, soil, wildlife, and many other things. On the other hand, tourism destroy the environment by cutting down many forest in orders to build hotels and park to attract tourist. Besides that, tourism also may cause elevation of pollution. These issues are so important
that there has been an explosion in the eco-tourism industry. Transportation is more important in tourism field. Mostly air transport is used in this sector, so its responsible for a large amount of air transmissions. These emissions, as well as those from the production of electricity, another important tourist need, are linked to acid rain, chemical pollution and global warming.

In addition, tourism also causes in increasing the crime rate. The crimes such as selling drugs, prostitution, gangs, and ultimately taking drugs can occur by tourist from other country. The desire to become wealthy quickly then causes a proliferation of the drug culture. The drugs culture as it causes an increase in burglaries, rapes, home invasions and murder. The tourist come from other country carried their attitude to change country to crime country. Generally, tourism is one of the most important sector that helps country to maintain and develop their economy. Even though tourism contributes many benefits we also have to look the problems that we will face in future by this tourism. If we only focus to gain profit from the tourism we will lose many this such as our beautiful environment and our culture for our new generation. ( 402 words )
