Cement Corporation Limited is a Royal

Government of Bhutan (RGoB) owned company incorporated under the Companies Act of Kingdom of Bhutan, 2000. It is s subsidiary company of the Druk Holding and Investments Limited, an investment arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan. It is a green field cement plant situated 150 km north-west of Guwahati, India. It has an installed capacity to produce 3000 MT of clinker and 4130 MT of cement per day. It uses the state-of-the-art technology of Humboldt, Germany. DCCL produces OPC 43 (ordinary portland cement), PPC (portland pozzolana cement), and PSC (portland slag cement) under the product brand of Dragon Cement. Dragon Cement has been licensed by both the Bhutan Standards Bureau, and Bureau of Indian Standards.

Dragon Cement OPC - 43

It is an ordinary Portland cement which has a minimum

strength of 43 mega-pascal or 430 kg/cm2 in 28 days. It is prepared by adding 3% to 4% gypsum in clinker. It has a fast setting property and high early strength. Dragon Cement OPC conforms to IS 8112/2013 with strength of 36, 45.2 and 50.5 mega-pascal although the required minimum norms are 23, 33 and 43 in 3 days, 7 days and 28 days respectively. Dragon Cement PPC

Up to 30% of fly-ash is mixed and inter-ground with

3% to 4% gypsum and the remaining clinker to produce Portland pozzolana cement. It has high strength because of the use of high quality clinker, grinding techniques and stringent quality control checks. Dragon Cement PPC conforms to IS 1489 (Part-I)/1991. It has strength of 23.36, 31.8 and 42.5 mega-pascal in 3 days, 7 days and 28 days although the norms require a minimum strength of 16, 22 and 33 mega-pascal respectively. Uses Buildings, walls, roads and bridges Dams, power houses, tunnels, spillways Shotcreting or guniting tunnels Airport, runways etc. 4

Dragon Cement PSC

Up to 65% of granulated blast furnace is mixed with

3% to 4% gypsum and the remaining with clinker and inter-ground to produce Portland slag cement. It has high strength because of the use of high quality clinker, slag and grinding techniques. Dragon Cement PSC conforms to IS 455/1989. It has strength of 23.7, 32.8 and 40.7 mega-pascal in 3 days, 7 days and 28 days despite the statutory requirement of 16, 22 and 33 mega-pascal respectively. Uses Roads, bridges, walls, oil and well drilling Buildings Shotcreting or guniting tunnels Airport, runways etc.
