Trust in Allah but tether your camel first.

This saying comes from a small story. A master was traveling with one of his disciples. The disciple was in charge of taking care of the camel. They came in the night, tired, to a caravanserai. It was the disciples duty to tether the camel; he didnt bother about it, he left the camel outside. Instead of that he simply prayed. He said to God, Take care of the camel, and fell asleep. In the morning the camel was gonestolen or moved away, or whatsoever happened. The master asked, What happened to the camel? Where is the camel? And the disciple said, I dont know. You ask God, because I had told Allah to take care of the camel, and I was too tired, so I dont know. And I am not responsible either, because I had told Him, and very clearly! There was no missing the point. Not only once in fact, I told Him thrice. And you go on teaching Trust Allah, so I trusted. Now dont look at me with anger. The master said, Trust in Allah but tether your camel firstbecause Allah has no other hands than yours. If He wants to tether the camel He will have to use somebodys hands; He has no other hands. And it is your camel! The best way and the easiest and the shortest way is to use your hands. Trust Allahdont trust only your hands, otherwise you will become tense. Tether the camel and then trust Allah. You will ask, Then why trust Allah if you are tethering the camel?because a tethered camel can also be stolen. You do whatsoever you can do: that does not make the result certain, there is no guarantee. So you do whatsoever you can, and then whatsoever happens, accept it. This is the meaning of tether the camel: do whatever is possible for you to do, dont shirk your responsibility, and then if nothing happens or something goes wrong, trust Allah. Then He knows best. Then maybe it is right for us to travel without the camel. It is very easy to trust Allah and be lazy. It is very easy not to trust Allah and be a doer. The third type of man is difficultto trust Allah and yet remain a doer. But now you are only instrumental; God is the real doer, you are just instruments in His hands

Confa en Al, pero antes ata tu camello

Este dicho viene de una pequea historia. Un maestro viajaba con uno de sus discpulos. El discpulo estaba a cargo del cuidado del camello. Llegaron de noche, cansados, a un oasis. Era responsabilidad del discpulo atar el camello; sin embargo, no lo hizo y lo dej suelto. En su lugar, se limit a rezar, le pidi a Dios: "Cuida del camello," y se durmi. Por la maana el camello se haba ido- lo haban robado o se haba escapado, cualquier cosa poda haber pasado. El maestro pregunt: "Qu ha pasado con el camello? Dnde est el camello?" El discpulo dijo: "No lo s. Pregntale a Dios, porque le ped a Al que cuidase del camello; yo estaba demasiado cansado, as que no s. Y no me hagas responsable, porque se lo ped a Dios de manera muy clara! Ese no ha sido el problema. No se lo ped slo una vez; de hecho, se lo ped tres veces. Usted me ha enseado Confa en Al! y yo lo he hecho. As que no me mires con esa cara de enfadado". El maestro dijo, "Confa en Al, pero antes ata el camello - porque Al no tiene otras manos que las tuyas". Si l quiere que aten el camello, l tendr que usar las manos de alguien; no tiene otras manos. Y es tu camello! La mejor manera y la ms fcil y el camino ms corto es utilizar tus manos. Confa en Al no confes slo en tus manos, o te sentirs slo. Ata el camello y luego confa en Al". Quizs te preguntes, "Entonces, por qu confiar en Al si eres tu quien tiene que atar al camello?" porque un camello atado tambin puede ser robado. Haz lo que tengas que hacer, a sabiendas de que no tendrs certeza del resultado, no hay ninguna garanta. De modo que haz lo que tengas que hacer, y entonces, acepta cualquiera que sea el resultado. Este es el significado de atar el camello: hacer todo lo que est en tus manos, no eludir tu responsabilidad y, a continuacin, si no ocurre nada o si algo va mal, entonces confiar en Al. Es l quien mejor sabe. Quizs entonces sea correcto viajar sin el camello. Es muy fcil confiar en exceso en Al y ser un perezoso. Es muy fcil no confiar en absoluto en Al y querer controlarlo todo y no parar. Sin embargo, existe un tercer tipo de hombre ms raro quien confa en Al y, sin embargo, hace lo que est en su mano. Es instrumental; Dios es el verdadero hacedor; l hombre slo es un instrumento en Sus manos.
