Since professions are the pupils who guide every particular individual into Right path they should be provided with development on happening in the world. Article of there interest on subject oriented articles are to be delivered to them everyday to make them updates.

Since we are in a professional side with computer since as our background and talking training in Visual Basic helped us to do a project on STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM by giving good benefit to users .In this project STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM provides details on student, course, fees, examination generate reports as addition, modification and deletion. . For the fulfillment of task some basic things required as: A.DATABASE STRUCTURE B.FORMS C.REPORTS

And more specifically the software or the environment in which it has to be developed .However the project work can also be developed in C or C++ or Oracle/ Developer or even in any high level language we have chosen VB[Visual Basic]as the front-end and Microsoft Access97 as the backend .

ABOUT THE BACK-END & FRONT-END

Visual basic is an ideal programming language for developing sophisticated professional application for Microsoft windows. It makes use of Graphical user Interface for creating robust and powerful applications. The Graphical user Interface, as the name suggests uses illustrations for text, which enable users to interact with an application. This features it easier to comprehend things in a quicker and easier way.

Coding in GUI environment in quite a transition to traditional line as programming method whether the user is guided though a linear path of execution and is limited to a small set of operations. In GUI environment the number of options opens to the user and developer. Features such as easier comprehension, user friend links, faster application to Active-x technology and internet features make Visual basic an interesting tool to work with.

VISUAL BASIC was developed from the BASIC programming language. In the Dos, Microsoft started developing ROM-based interpreted-based computer. In 1982, Microsoft quick basic revolutionized basic and was language for MS-Dos environment later on , Microsoft corporation created the enhanced version of BASIC called Visual Basic for windows. Visual Basic 5.0 made several leaps forward in its ability to build and develop corporate application of control and com objects all made version 5.0 a power house for client/server development. Visual Basic 6.0 takes the next steps in moving the language forward to the internet and building on the multiple data sources with same or Different.

Ms-access 97 is the back-end provides to the front-end for handling the database system

DEFINITION O F THE PROBLEM

In student information system, the manual work of the maintenance of students record and their day to day activity require high dignity of manual labour involved with the staffs who are predominately engaged for the same purpose. The stupendous works involved in the manual function of the maintenance of the record involved the work like, enrollment of the students in the institute there by keeping all the details of them intact, searching a particular student as and when required, checking for their eligibility to set in the examination, keeping the details of their fee structure etc. which posed a serious problem in the working environment in consider with the increasing number of students joking admission in the institution.

The manual system specifically involves the following function in an academic institution. They are:

As the system of student information handle the students, course, fees, and exam of the institution. It generates reports on all the possible information about the students .So it reduces the risk of loosing students from the institution. The auto generation of report of each student is a main feature of this system. It makes a huge and complicated work to simpler and easier. This system provides effective management to a institution reducing risk of loosing students,

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The basic goal achieved by this project is to lesson the manpower used in the student information system .It reduces the number of staff employed for getting information of the student .The purpose of the system is not only to save the manpower but it also provides accuracy of the job. The information about the students, course, fees and exam of the institution obtained by this system assured the accuracy of the information.

As the system is computerized the speed of the work becomes faster. So, the job, which consumed hours, to be completed becomes possible to do in just few minutes. As in the world of modern technology each field of work is being computerized so to make the institution computerized becomes the need of contemporary world as well as it increase the efficiency of the institution.
