Newmoon Festival.

Newmoon sounds familiar but most donot have any understanding

biblically. Because it is not particularly mentioned in the bible just the way
Sabbath was commanded. Let us keep aside those who donot even know about
the sabbath or it's importance with respect to the almighty Yahweh. And
considering those who can proudly say about their so called sabbaths, a
question regarding newmoon only leaves most of them with a weird expression
which in itself speaks about their ignorance. Ignorance with respect to bible itself,
which they think says nothing about it. So let us meditate this aucpicious day of
the bible in the light of scriptures.
Arguments:
1.New moon is not commanded as was Sabbath or other Festivals.
2.There is no evidence of observing New moon as a holyday in the bible.
3. Patriarchs did not keep the newmoon days.
4.No suggestion in the scriptures to observe newmoon days.
5.There is no mention in the New testament regarding the observance of the new
moons.
1.New moon is a commandment:
In NUM 10 : 10 ,Yahweh says " Blow the trumpet.......... 'At your times of
rejoicing -- your appointed feasts and new moon festivals --'".And NUM 28 : 11
says 'on the first of every moon (month),present to YAHWEH a burnt offering'.
EZEK 46 : 3 says 'On the sabbaths and new moons the people of the Land are to
worship in the presence of YAHWEH at the entrance to that gateway'. PSALM 81 :
3,4 'Sound the ram's horn (trumpet) at the new moon and when the moon is
full,on the day of our feast ; This is a decree for Israel , an ordinance of Almighty
father of Jacob'
So in numerous occassions did Yahweh ordained newmoon along with the
sabbaths.
2.Scripturally Newmoon is also a holyday as any Sabbath:
In EZEK 46 : 1, the sovereign Almighty YAHWEH says :" The gate of the
inner court facing east is to be shut on the six working days , but on the sabbath
day and on the day of the new moon it is to be opened." 1 CHR 23 : 31 says,
'whenever burnt offerings were presented to YAHWEH on sabbaths and at new
moon festivals and at appointed feasts.They were to serve before YAHWEH
regularly.......... .'
In above verses it is evident that the almighty father Yahweh has sanctified
Newmoon days along with Sabbaths and feasts.
3.Patriarchs did observe the Newmoon days:
2 CHR 31 : 3 says, 'The king contributed from his own possessions for the
morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings in the sabbaths ,
new moons , and appointed feasts as written in the law of YAHWEH.' EZRA 3 : 5
says, 'After that , they presented the regular burnt offerings , the new moon
sacrifices and the sacrifices for all the appointed sacred feasts of YAHWEH.' 2
Kings 4 : 22,23 says, She called her husband and said ' please send me one of the
servants and a donkey so i can go to the man of Yahweh quickly and return.' 'why
go to him to day ?.' He asked 'it is not the new moon or the sabbath.' And Ezek 45
: 17 says, 'it will be the duty of the prince to provide the burnt offerings, grain
offerings and drink offerings at the festivals , the new moons and the sabbaths --
at all the appointed feasts of the house of israel.'
From the above few exemplary instances from the scriptures we can learn that
our patriarchs did observe New moon days as an ordinance passed to them along
with the sabbath.
4.Scriptures do implore us to keep the Newmoon days:
AMOS 8 : 5 says , "When will the new moon be over that we may sell grain,and
the sabbath be ended that we may market wheat?"
In the above verse scriptures make a dig at the hypocrites. It is one of the
instances in the scriptures where the hypocrites are caught in wrong and
indirectly being told so.
ISAIAH 66 : 23 says, 'from one new moon to another and from one sabbath to
another,all mankind will come and bow down before me'.
Which means that during the millennium almighty father makes it an ordinance to
observe the newmoon days by making it a prophecy.Which by in itself means he
wants as much from us now.
5.NewMoon day in the newtestament:
In Col 2:16 ,Paul says, "Therefore donot let anyone judge you by what you
eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a newmoon celebration, or a
sabbath day."
Many so called theologists quote this verse to say that Paul is condemning the
newmoon days and other holy days. But can i ask them when do they come under
judgement?When they keep the law or transgress it?.
