Rivalry:The Musical comes fresh from awards garnered from Aliw as Best Musical Director (Ed Gatchalian), Best Stage Direction (Jaime del Mundo), and from BroadwayWorld as Best Music (Ed Gatchalian) for an original Filipino musical. until 02/23 Bulwagang Carlos Francisco (Little Theater Lobby), Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3rd Floor Hallway Gallery) The PAEA Biennial exhibition at the CCP brings together various school groups and community organizations to collaborate in scroll format works that explore the theme of water or danum in Ilocano. This exhibit is also in celebration of PAEAs 45th anniversary.

01/22-03/09 Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) The untold musical story of The Wizard of Ozs Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good before Dorothy dropped in. Based on the imaginative Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked takes fantasy journey through the unseen side of Oz, sharing a tale of unexpected friendship and love. Visually stunning, Wicked boasts a soaring score from Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin), Tony Awardwinning sets and costumes and some of the most gravitydefying moments. The Philippine season of WICKED is produced by Marc Platt, David Stone, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and John Frost. It is presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, David Atkins Enterprises, 105.9 Radio High, and Concertus in association with WICKED Worldwide. WICKED WILL DONATE the proceeds of one PERFORMANCE TO THE relief and rehabilitation of communities affected by the typhoon.

01/14-01/25 Tanghalang Huseng Batute Three leading experts in musical theater performance from New York coach mid-career performers in art and technique of singing, acting and dancing the musical. A two week intensive aimed at developing triple threats musical theater performers who can sing, dance and act. The teaching team is composed of CARMELA SINCO, musical director and vocal coach who has worked for theater, television and film; ORLANDO PABOTOY, an OBIE awardwinning actor and physical theater specialist who works with the Julliard Drama Division and the NYU Tisch School of the Arts; and ALBIN KONOPKA who has enjoyed a career as musical director for major Broadway productions and international productions. Made possible by a generous grant from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC).
01/22 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) Anna Netrebko and Mariusz Kwiecien star as the lovestruck Tatiana and the imperious Onegin in Tchaikovskys fateful romance. Deborah Warners new production, directed by Fiona Shaw, is set in the late 19th century and moves episodically from farmhouse to ballroom, with a powerful snowstorm providing the dramatic setting for the finale. Piotr Beczala is Lenski, Onegins friend turned rival. Later performances in the run feature another extraordinary cast: Marina Poplavskaya, Peter Mattei, and Rolando Villazn. Russian maestro Valery Gergiev conducts. Made possible by a generous grant from the Philippine Opera Guild.
PPO Series V
of the Sistine Chapel commission, to paint a series of murals for the cutting edge Seagram Building on Park Avenue. But after completing the works, he mysteriously decides to keep the paintings and returns every penny of the advance. Years later, the artist donates the works to the Tate Gallery in London and on the very day it arrives at the gallery, he commits suicide. The play introduces a fictitious assistant who engages Rothko in arguments and conversations that ultimately make us understand why Rothko might decide to withdraw his work from the commission. Red by John Logan is presented by Actors Actors The Necessary Theatre featuring Bart Guingona and Joaquin Valdes.
01/29 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) A three-time first prize winner of the National Music Competitions for Young Artsts (NAMCYA), Raymond was a semi-finalist in the 1st Calvia International Trumpet Competition in Mallorca, Spain in 2003, won 3rd Prize in the International Trumpet Guild Competition in new Jersey in 2006 and First Prize in the Don Bushell Concerto Competition in 2011, which led to his debut with the Seattle Philharmonic on March 2012 playing the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.

02/12 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) Franco Zeffirellis magnificent staging of Puccinis final opera - a fairy tale set in mythical China - is one of the most popular in the Met Operas repertory. In this Live in HD production, Maria Guleghina takes on the title role and Marcello Giordani is Calaf, the unknown prince. Marina Poplavskaya and Samuel Ramey co-star, and Andris Nelsons conducts in his Met debut. Made possible by a generous grant from the Philippine Opera Guild.

More than 300 shows in music, theater, dance, visual arts, film, and literature to choose from. 3000 artists participating and expecting more than 70,000 viewers - the Pasinaya transforms Manila and the art and culture mile between the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex and Intramuros into the most creative place on earth. Specially created for the Centennial of the Philippine Revolution and restaged as part of the Sesquicentennial celebration of Andres Bonifacio, this full length ballet promises an enriching and revitalized approach to the great proletarian heros life and sacrifice.
04/01-04/27 A yearly tradition among young dance students, professionals, teachers and choreographers, the CCP Summer Dance Workshop offers classes in Baby Ballet, Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Hip Hop, Creative Movement, Improvisation and Dance Composition. Lectures on topics such as Pedagogy, Stagecraft and Dance History are also offered. Over 50 Metro Manila and Provincial scholarships are available through auditions beginning mid-March 2014. 06/24-07/06 Tanghalang Huseng Batute A festival of untried, untested, unstaged works. The play festival has earned a solid reputation for its exciting and provocative line-up of one-act plays from both emerging and established playwrights. New works are developed through a collaborative process between the writers, directors, designers, actors and production staff. The Festival has produced winners in literary contests, two anthologies and film adaptations. The Festival also runs the Virgin Labfest Fellowship that immerses early career playwrights in the rudiments of one act play writing, production and development during the run of the Festival. A joint venture of the CCP, the Writers Bloc, Inc. and Tanghalang Pilipino.

with writer Paul Dumol and director Nonon Padilla premieres at the CCP. Lorenzo is about an OFW awaiting execution in the Middle East who, while in prison, creates a theater production based on the life of the first Filipino saint, San Lorenzo Ruiz. The production has original music by Cayabyab, book and lyrics by Paul Dumol and Christian Vallez, production design by Gino Gonzales, and direction by Nonon Padilla.
07/01-07/06 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) and Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) A large gathering of symphonic orchestras and bands in the country in solo, joint and collaborative performances and workshops. These urgent questions - and others - are answered in The Price of Everything, a performance lecture/stand-up storytelling show about value. Daniel Byes whistlestop tour of bizarre facts and extraordinary stories is occasionally shambolic and often misguided - but always a joy to watch. Daniel trained at the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theater (UK). His works has been seen in more than 50 venues and festivals across UK including the Edinburgh Fringe. Presented in cooperation with the British Council and the Philippine Educational Theater Association.

07/23 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) Ross Salvosa has been performing in concert venues
around the world as an orchestra soloist, solo recitalist, collaborative artist and chamber musician and was a prize winner in national and international piano competitions. A versatile artist with a wide range of solo, concerto and chamber music repertoire, Ross frequently performs and premieres current contemporary works. He is one of Vancouvers most sought after piano pedagogues.

08/15 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theater) Sarah Mae Gabuyo finished her degree in Flute Performance at the International Academy of Music of the Foundation of the Foundation of Civic Schools of Milan, Italy, and from the State Conservatory of Music A. Buzzolla-Adria, Italy under the guidance of the Italian international flute soloist Raffaele Trevisani. From 2004 to 2007 she has participated in the annual flute convention in Italy where she got to know through masterclasses and performances noted international flutists such as Davide Formisano, Glauco Cambursano, and Andrea Griminelli. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Flute Performance with Raffaele Trevisani at the International Academy of Music in Milan.

Chabet mentored and collaborated with todays leading contemporary artists, many of whom have established their respective names and presence in the local and international art scene. Guest curators for this exhibit are Ringo Bunoan and Nilo Ilarde.

An interactive timeline display of the History of the Cultural Center of the Philippines since its founding in 1969 up to the present. The timeline features landmark productions, artists and events.
The nine resident companies perform a brief production number in the most unexpected places. The random acts of culture progress towards a grand flashmob participated in by hundredds of artists.

10/10-10/11 Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino Inspired by Haruki Murakamis novel Norwegian Wood: after his best friend dies, the hero starts a relationship with the bereaved girlfriend. In Cousins duet, the dancers are intimately entwined but her focus is rarely on him. She reaches out into space, but would fall if he let her go. For the whole of this long duet, an intense relationship drama, the female dancer literally never touches the ground. Choreographer James Cousins is a rising star, winner of the first New Adventures Choreographer Award. Scottish Ballet performed his work as part of its International Festival programme. Presented in cooperation with the British Council and the Philippine Educational Theater Association.

10/21-10/26 Various Venues The CCP Choral Workshop (more popularly known as the CCP Hands-on Choral Workshop) is a choral clinic open to amateur choirs and choral conductors who wish to hone their skills in choral singing, conducting and performance. The Workshop has trained choirs and conductors from different parts of the country, some of whom have already competed and won in local and international choral competitions. Open to Phiippine and international choirs. Mentored by members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

A reunion of the countrys leading musical theater performers who have interpreted the roles of the enduring musical.

11/18-11/23 Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater) The National Music Competition for Young Artist (NAMCYA) serves as a catalyst in discovering and nurturing young Filipino musicians towards advancement of artistic performance, creativity, and Philippine music traditions. With generous support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA and the Department of Education and Culture (DepED), activities include outreach programs and the Final Round of the various group; solo NAMCYA competitions culminating in the CONCERT OF WINNERS at the Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater), Cultural Center of the Philippines.
11/19-11/21 Tanghalang Manuel Conde Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video (The CCP Independent Film & Video Competition) promotes Filipino independent filmmaking by giving recognition to the years most outstanding film and video artists. It is also the longest-running independent film and video competition in Asia.
11/20/2014 to 2/01/2015 Bulwagang Juan Luna (Main Gallery) and Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery) Following his first retrospective in November 2013, this exhibition will feature Constancio Bernardos abstract works, including large-scale paintings rendered in the minimalist style. Bernardo was among the first generation of abstract painters and was especially known for his distinct linear style which he developed after his studies at Yale University under Josef Albers. The exhibit will also recreate Bernardos exhibit held in the Small Gallery comprised of monochromatic paintings ranging from white to black.

MASTERCLASSES WORKSHOPS

sessions with art experts training advanced students in performance and technique. The selected outstanding young Filipino artists featured on the 2014 Special Concert Series will be giving masterclasses.
The workshop is designed to expand the skills in orchestra conducting. Module will consist of lectures on score reading, score interpretation and baton techniques. Podium time will be givento participants to individually practice conducting in front of an orchestra.
A classical guitar program for the youth offering free weekly lessons to interested public High School students. The program intends to promote appreciation for classical guitar performance among public. Aside from the weekly lessons, the students are also expected to have campus performances to promote interest in classical guitar. Under the tutelage of classical guitar arranger and professor Maestro Jose Valdez, the students of the program are expected to develop a self-sustaining performing classical guitar ensemble with excellent performance.
A two-week mentorship program on the study and practice of dramatic writing for the stage. The module consists of lectures, script critiquing, writing sessions and interactions with known playwrights, directors and selected actors. Fellows also have access pass to all the Virgin Labfest plays and rehearsals as part of their mentorship. The Fellowship Program culminates in a staged reading of the fellows works.
The MARIA Scholars in Dance and Music will be having its lectureperformances in different schools to promote arts and arts appreciation to the students.
An intensive training program for symphonic band conductors and enthusiasts. The workshop module consists of symphonic band conducting essentials, leadership skills enhancement, rehearsal techniques, score preparation, and actual band conducting in front of a laboratory band.
Printmaking Workshop.
Rudiments of various techniques of printmaking conducted by members of the Printmakers Association of the Philippines (PAP). Sessions are held at their studio/exhibit space at the Folk Arts Theater.

trumpet January 29, 2014; 7:30 PM Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino A three-time first prize winner of the National Music Competitions for Young Artsts (NAMCYA), Raymond was a semi-finalist in the 1st Calvia International Trumpet Competition in Mallorca, Spain in 2003, won 3rd Prize in the International Trumpet Guild Competition in new Jersey in 2006 and First Prize in the Don Bushell Concerto Competition in 2011, which led to his debut with the Seattle Philharmonic on March 2012 playing the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto. He performs with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in December 2012. Catch this remarkable trumpet virtuoso in a solo concert with Raul M. Sunico as pianist.

piano July 23, 2014; 7:30 PM Tangahalang Aurelio Tolentino Ross Salvosa has been performing in concert venues around the world as an orchestra soloist, solo recitalist, collaborative artist and chamber musician and was a prize winner in national and international piano competitions. A very versatile artist with a wide range of solo, concerto and chamber music repertoire, Ross frequently performs and premieres current contemporary works. He is one of Vancouvers most sought after piano pedagogues. His students have won numerous competitions both national and internationally, and have performed as soloists with orchestras internationally.
flute August 15, 2014; 7:30 PM Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino, Sarah Mae Gabuyo finished her degree in Flute Performance at the International Academy of Music of the Foundation of the Foundation of Civic Schools of Milan, Italy, and from the State Conservatory of Music A. Buzzolla-Adria, Italy under the guidance of the Italian international flute soloist Raffaele Trevisani. From 2004 to 2007 she has participated in the annual flute convention in Italy where she got to know through masterclasses and performances noted international flutists such as Davide Formisano, Glauco Cambursano, and Andrea Griminelli. She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Flute Performance with Raffaele Trevisani at the International Academy of Music in Milan.

double bass September 24, 2014; 7:30 PM Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino Jiovanni received his basic music training on double bass in 1996 at Salvador and Pilar sala Foundation, Inc. in Cebu. For years later, he was awarded a full grant to study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands, one of the best conservatories in Europe. He graduated with a masters degree in Music, major in Double Bass, with distinction. He has performed with the Sinfonia Rotterdam Chamber Orchestra, the Holland Sinfonia and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. He now resides in his hometown, Cebu and contributes to its growing music scene.

Sining sa Eskwela (Arts in the Curriculum). A weeklong arts and culture series training specifically designed for teachers of the Special Program for the Arts (SPA) schools. Bayanihan Summer Workshop. Open to children, teens and adults dance enthusiasts who want to learn the Bayanihan way of dancing and to be acquainted with the dances and music that earned for the national folk dance company international acclaim. Participants will undergo a two-week intensive workshop under a mentor who will teach them to do specific body movements at the right time and a culminating activity of the workshop will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Ballet Philippines Summer Intensives. From April to May, the CCP Dance School conducts the Summer Dance Workshop, a five-week intensive technique and total dance training culminating in a dance showcase at the CCP Main Theater. Ballet and more for beginners to professionals. With classes in: Baby Ballet, Classical Ballet, Contemporary/ Modern Dance, and Hip- hop. The CCP Summer Dance Workshop culminates with two grand Recitals at the CCP Main Theater.
UST Summer MusicCamp Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group Sayaw Foundation Arts Management Intensives. A program that will organize an enhance activity to help nurture, develop and sustain the growth of the Philippine creative industry. Conference can be organized as a stand-alone event to focus on Intellectual Property Rights, Social Media/Technology Marketing and Promotion. Conference can be detailed to major CCP festivals and CCP festival involvement, e.g. Pasinaya CCP Open House Festival, Aliwan Festival, Cinemalaya Festival, National Theater Festival.
Tanghalang Pilipino Summer Theater Workshop. Tanghalang Pilipinos Summer Theater Adventure, a threeweek program from April to May, offers various theatrical activities for different age levels designed to develop, hone and explore the dramatic skills and talents of aspiring theater artists. National Folk Dance Workshop. An annual five-day intensive workshop specially designed for teachers in the elementary, secondary and tertiary levels, dance trainors, directors of dance groups, choreographers and dance enthusiasts. It primarily aims to address the various needs and concerns of folk dance education and dance production in both the public and private schools. 700 to 800 representatives from the different regions of the country participate in this annual workshop. The program is conducted with the Philippine Folk Dance Society, and is endorsed by Dep-Ed, CHED, TESDA, CSC and DILG
Culture Carousel. Cultural Carousel is a weekly radio program of the CCP aired over 98.7 DzFE-FM from 12 noon to 1pm on Saturdays showcasing the works and performances of outstanding Filipino and foreign artists.

Filipiniana Sunsets A weekly cultural show at the CCP scheduled on Wednesdays from 6pm to 7pm. A program of the Cultural Center of the Philippines for cultural awareness and audience development, showcasing the rich and diverse Philippine traditions in dance and music. All shows are free and open to the public. Folkloric groups regale local and international visitors with songs and dances from the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines from the indigenous, to the Spanish and American colonial periods. The colorful pageantry is set against the backdrop of the famous sunset of Manila Bay. CCP Building and Theater Tours. Go on a guided tour of the CCP Main Building to see the galleries and museum, as well as the various theater venues, lobby spaces, auditorium and backstage areas.
Sining Galing (Arts Therapy) CCPs arts based psychosocial program intended as a response for children and/or service providers like teachers, and social workers who are survivors of calamities and other major social problems such as armed conflict. using uNICEFs guidelines on Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings the activities intend to facilitate the communitys return to normalcy. Front-Of-House Apprenticeship Program The program provides various trainings in different aspects of theater operations, with specialization in the frontline. An apprentice from a partner-beneficiary agency like gawad kalinga, Caritas Manila, and Our Lady of Sorrow Pasay, can eventually be employed as a member of the CCP ushering staff and be able to learn through a Building and Theater Tour and Production Design Center Tour, attend lectures on Front-Of-House Operating Procedures,Technical Know- How, and Personality Development.

Now at the faade of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Parul Sampernandu showcases Christmas lanterns from the province known as the Christmas capital of the Philippines and renowned for its large size, brilliant colors, and flashing kaleidoscopic patterns made possible by the intricate electrical circuitry fashioned by the craftsmen of San Fernando, Pampanga.

The Choral Institute
founder of the Philippine Madrigal Singers National Artist for Music, Professor Andrea O. Veneracion, an esteemed choirmaster and choral clinician who was instrumental in the promotion of choral music all over the country and in Asia. The event intends is to bring together choral groups from different parts of Asia and around the globe to the Philippines to celebrate choral excellence through a festival and a competition.
The CCP Choral Workshop 2011 (more popularly known as the CCP Hands-on Choral Workshop) is a choral clinic open to amateur choirs and choral conductors who wish to hone their skills in choral singing, conducting and performance. The Workshop has trained choirs and conductors from different parts of the country, some of whom have already competed and won in local and international choral competitions. Open to Phiippine and international choirs. Mentored by members of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
Two week intensive for mid career music theater professionals conducted by experts from New York and Manila on the art and technique of singing, acting and dancing the musical. The 2014 teaching team is composed of Carmela Sinco musical director and vocal coach who has worked for theater, television and film; Orlando Pabotoy an OBIE award winning actor and physical theater specialist who works with the Julliard Drama Division and the NYU Tisch School of the Arts; and Albin Konopka who has enjoyed an career as musical director for major Broadway productions and international productions. The program is made possible by a generous grant from the Asian Cultural Council (ACC).

A week-long voice masterclass on vocal techniques and opera arias with French director and vocal coach Florence Guignolet. The masterclass will culminate in the presentation of French composer Jacques Offenbachs opera La Vie Parisienne, with the masterclass participants as performers. In cooperation with the Alliance Francais and the Embassy of France.
The CCP Dance School is the professional training ground of Ballet Philippines. It offers regular courses in dance (Classical and Modern Ballet for all levels) including specialized lecture series and workshops from June to March. From April to May, the CCP Dance School conducts the Summer Intensives.
The only full time actors training in the country. Apprentices, scholars and full members attend physical, vocal, acting technique training with senior members and faculty. Actors Company participants also audition and get cast in the Season of the Tanghalang Pilipino.
