ONLINE EXPERTS A Yoga Posture for Improving Digestion Vajrasana is a Hatha Yoga Asana, which is very easy to do and beneficial. A regular practice of this asana (posture) improves digestion and removes tiredness. There are many benefits of doing this Asana regularly. Vajrasana (Thunderbolt pose) This Asana is the easiest as you can see from the sketch. Just sit with legs folded back, toes of both feet touching together and buttocks resting on folded feet. Sit at ease with straight back and both hands resting on the knees. This asana is also known as the Thunderbolt pose. After each meal sit in this posture, lightly close your eyes and focus attention at the Manipur Chakra (Umbilical centre) and recite the mantra, Om Ghrini Sooriaye Namaha. A regular practice will improve your digestion and increase your digestive power. Whenever you feel tiredness in your legs and particularly the shank area which is the lower part of legs sitting in this asana will remove tiredness. For this purpose just close your eyes, do not recite the above mantra and imagine the prana (subtle invisible vital energy) energy flowing in the legs. This asana can be done anytime; you can even meditate while sitting in this asana. It is the best meditation asana for people suffering from sciatica and sacral infections. Other benefits of this asana are: *Blood circulation in the pelvic region is improved. *Improves nerve-impulse flow in the pelvic area and legs. *Strengthens the pelvic muscles. *Prevents Hernia problem.
