NERVOUS SYSTEM
Tasting, smelling, seeing, hearing, thinking, dreaming, breathing, heart pumping, moving, laughing, singing, painting, writing, and dancing.
We could not do any of these things if we did not have the nervous system.
NERVES
Nerves are tiny threads of nerve cells called neurons. Neurons run throughout your body. Neurons carry messages back and forth inside you like telephone wires.
NERVE SIZE
THERE ARE MORE NERVOUS CELLS IN THE HUMAN BRAIN THAN I N T H E M I L K Y W AY.
VS.
THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR BRAIN CONTROLS THE RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR BODY AND VICE VERSA.
THERE ARE ABOUT TEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND NEURONS IN THE HUMAN SPINAL CORD.
STROKE
There are two main types of stoke, Hemorrhagic stroke and Ischemic stroke.!
!
HEMORRHAGIC STROKE
Hemorrhagic Stroke
A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel on the brain's surface ruptures and lls the space between the brain and skull with blood (subarachnoid hemorrhage) or when a defective artery in the brain bursts and lls the surrounding tissue with blood (cerebral hemorrhage). Both types of stroke result in a lack of blood ow to the brain and a buildup of blood that puts too much pressure on the brain.!
Ischemic Stroke
The ischemic stroke is the most common kind of stroke; caused by an interruption in the flow of blood to the brain.
Ischemic Stroke
!
Ischemic stroke accounts for about 87 percent of all strokes and occurs when a blood clot, or thrombus, forms that blocks blood ow to part of the brain. If a blood clot forms somewhere in the body and breaks off to become free-oating, it is called an embolus. This wandering clot may be carried through the bloodstream to the brain where it can cause ischemic stroke.!

LEAD POISONING
LEAD POISONING
Lead is a very strong poison. When a person swallows a lead object or breathes in lead dust, some of the poison can stay in the body and cause serious health problems.!
