We quoted Sir Edward Cokes viewpoint, quoted from his work, on the Born Alive Rule in our discussion of the historical background of abortion, which was from this set of treatises. This gave us an idea of the legal position of abortions in England, which was integrated into early colonial society. In contrast with beliefs that abortion has been only recently legalized, abortion restrictions only began to be enacted in the 19th century. Comstock, Anthony. Traps for the Young. 1883.
