The genres been around on radio and later on TV for nearly 70 years, but the World Championships of Performing Arts is by far the biggest in scale and scope, and seeks to turn the international corridor between a countrys artists and dreamers and Hollywoods land of dreams into a twoway street as a launch pad for opportunity, recognition and reward.

JED MADELA became the first Filipino to win the WCOPA world grand champion title and immediately signed with Universal Records. He now has his own weekly TV show, enjoys sold-out concerts throughout the world, has had seven double platinum albums and became the first world grand champion to be inducted into the Performing Arts Hall of Fame. ANDREW PAPAS, multimedalist and finalist in the 2012 WCOPA, journeyed home to New Zealand and linked with the newly-formed boy band Titanium to launch their first single which went platinum. AMANDA BALON from Florida at age ten secured the coveted principle role in the national touring company of Annie. After capturing the top senior crown, Australias CHRISTIAN PATTERSON performed for a year with Cirque du Soleil, in the Las Vegas hit revue Splash, on a popular TV soap series in New York, and in the internationally acclaimed film Rent. Multi-medalist and finalist, DIMITRI DIATCHENKO from Los Angeles catapulted his acting career in George Lucas Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, directed by Steven Spielberg. MICHAEL DAMESKI played the starring role of Billy Elliot in the Australian production, in the Tony Award winning Broadway production and in the North American tour of Billy Elliot the Musical. Colorado is proud of nine year old CHRIS ONEIL whose first acting job after WCOPA was starring in New Line Cinemas popular film Last Mimzy. CARL MAN from the United Kingdom left WCOPA to immediately become a featured vocalist on Royal Caribbeans flagship Liberty of the Seas and then starred in Disneys Aladdin A Musical Spectacular. MONIQUE SMITH, female model medalist and finalist, graduated from Florida State University with a 4.0 grade point average and is now a media analyst at CNN.
