CLINICAL EXPERIENCE: Community Health Nursing Level IV CLINICAL AREA: Pasonanca Health Center DAYS OF DUTY: Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 7:00AM-3:00PM CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR: Elena M. Tierra, RN MN GENERAL OBJECTIVE Application of skills, knowledge and attitude for beginning professional practice through the utilization of nursing care process, work independently or in collaboration with others in the promotion of health, prevention of illness and disability and in the restoration of health, with the integration in the intensive management of critically ill client in all settings and apply previous concepts learned. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of 24 hours RLE, the students will be able to: 1. Establish rapport with the Clinical Instructor and Co-nursing students; Health Center Personnel; 2. Pay courtesy call to the Barangay Officials; 3. Orient themselves in the health centers physical set-up, organization chart and schedule of activities; 4. Participate in Pre and Post-Conference; 5. Relate theory to the clinical area; 6. Identify family care using IDB; 7. Assist in the Health Centers activities, consultation; 8. Perform nursing procedures such as; a. Assessment of client b. Vital signs taking c. Oral and Parenteral medications d. Leopolds Maneuver e. Newborn care/Cord care f. Infant bath g. Bag technique h. Sputum collection 9. Review the following incidental teachings; a. Program of DOH b. Drug calculations c. Stages of labor d. Pre and Post-natal care e. Newborn care f. Immunization g. Nutrition 10. Manage or assist in deliveries and cord care 11. Apply leadership and management role 12. Apply the role of Practice Clinical Instructor
