Durood Taj

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Salim, the author of Durood-e-Taj, composed this Durood out of immense love for the Beloved Messenger of Allah. Since then, it has become renowned throughout the world, loved for its stunning melodic style and its beautiful humility in addressing the Beloved Messenger through his honourable attributes. Throughout the ages, great saints and scholars have reserved a special place in their hearts for this treasure, which has been so deservedly named Durood-e-Taj or Salutation of the Crown. One such saint is our beloved Khwaja Ghaznavi (of Darbar Nerian Sharif), who was extremely fond of this Durood during his blessed lifetime. The spiritual effects of Durood-e-Taj have been felt and experienced by many, all of whom have recited it with utmost sincerity (ikhlas) and certainty (yaqeen). In cherishing their devotion and love for the Beloved Messenger of Allah, those who recite this Durood are blessed with great solace, protection, support and guidance in their lives. Like all forms of Durood, it brings one closer to the Beloved Messenger of Allah, a truly esteemed status - though Durood-e-Taj has special strength due to the power of its unique wording. Recently, objections have been raised regarding its authenticity. In regards to this, one who loves the Beloved Messenger with true honour must ask themselves: when the 'authenticity' of a Salutation upon the Beloved of Allah is questioned, where does this all end? The constant requirements for proofs and references by the corrupt sects and the Wahabis is clear evidence of their weakness in faith, especially when it comes to love for the Beloved Messenger. It seems they will raise outcries and objections the moment his praise is mentioned. Truly, Allah knows the hearts and the intentions of the people. Wallahu aalam (and Allah knows best).

ENGLISH TEXT Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin Saahibit-taaji wal miraji wal buraaqi wal alam daafi il balaai wal wa baai wal qahti wal maradi wal alam ismuhu maktubun marfuun mashfuun manqu shun fil-lawhi wal qalam, Sayyidil arabi wal ajam jismuhu muqaddasun muattarun mutahharun munawwarun fil bayti wal haram. Shamsid-duha badrid-duja sadrilula nuril huda kahfil wara misbahi zulam jameel-ishiyam shafiil umam Sahibil juudi wal karam. Wallahu aasimuhu wa jibrilu khadimuhu wal buraqu markabuhu wal miraju safaruhu wa sidratul muntaha maqaamuhu wa qaaba qawsayni matlubuhu wal matlubu maqsuduhu wal maqsudu mawjuduhu. Sayyidil mursaleen khatamin-nabiyyeen shafiil muznibeen aneesil gharibeen rahmatal lil alameen raahatil aashiqeen muraadil mushtaqeen shamsil arifeen sirajis-saalikeen misbahil muqarrabeen muhibbil fuqaraa-i wal ghurabaai wal masakeen. Sayyidith-thaqalayn nabiyyil haramayn imamil qiblatayn wasilatina fid-darayn, Sahibi qaba qawsayn, Mahbuubi Rabbil mashriqayni wal maghribayn, jaddil Hasani wal Husayn mawlana wa mawlath-thaqalayn Abil Qasimi Muhammad ibni Abdillah Nurim-min nurillah ya ayyuhal mushtaquna bi nuri jamaalihi, sallu alayhi wa alihi wa ashabihi wa sallimu taslima. Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammadiw wa ala aali Sayyidina Muhammadiw wa baarik wa sallim. ENGLISH TRANSLATION O Allah, send peace & blessings upon our Master & Patron Muhammad, the Owner of the Crown & the Ascent & the Buraq & the Standard; the Repeller of Affliction, Disease, Drought, Illness & Pain. His Name is written up high, served and engraved in the Tablet & the Pen, the Leader of All, Arabs and non-Arabs, whose body is sanctified, fragrant, and pure, illumined in the House and the Sanctuary; the Sun of Brightness, the Full Moon in Darkness, the Foremost One in the Highest Fields, the Light of Guidance, the Cave of Refuge for Mortals, the Lamp That Dispels the Night, the Best-Natured One, the Intercessor of Nations, the Owner of Munificence and Generosity. Allah is his Protector, Gabriel is his servant (khaadim). The Buraq is his mount, the Ascent (al Miraj) is his voyage, the Lote-Tree of the Furthermost Boundary (sidrat al muntaha) is his Station, two bow-lengths or nearer is his Desire, his Desire is his Goal, and he has found his Goal. The Master of the Messengers, the Seal of the Prophets, the intercessor of sinners, the friend of the strangers, the Mercy for the Worlds (rahmatal lil aalameen), the respite of those who burn with love, the goal of those who yearn, the sun of Knowers (aarifeen), the lamp of travellers, the light of those brought Near, the friend of the poor and destitute, the Master of humans and jinn, the Prophet of the Two Sanctuaries, The Imam of the Two Qiblas, Our Means in the Two Abodes, the Owner of the Station of Two Bows' Length (qaba qawsayn), the Beloved of the Lord of the Two Easts and the Two Wests (mashriqayni wal maghribayn), the grandfather of al-Hasan and al-Husayn, our Patron and the Patron of humans and jinn; Abu alQasim Muhammad Son of Abdullah, Light from the Light of Allah! you who yearn for the light of his beauty, send blessings and utmost greetings of peace upon him and upon his family. May Allahs peace and blessings be upon our Master Muhammad and upon his Family. ***
