Intent to Register Ph.D.

Students

Spring 2014

Submit to Dr. Boisverts office by Friday, September 13th, 2013 or earlier if possible (electronic copies are acceptable) Dear PhD Students, Please review the list of courses tentatively scheduled for the Spring semester. Confirm the courses for which you will enroll. Course descriptions and degree requirements may be viewed at http://www.shsu.edu/gradcat/cocj.html Keep a copy of the completed form below for your records. Please submit your completed form to the College of Criminal Justice Graduate Office (Dr. Boisvert or Mrs. Pratt). IMPORTANT: Your response commits you to enroll in the course(s) that you specify within the College of Criminal Justice. This form does not register you for the course. You are responsible for registering during the enrollment period determined by the university. Deviations may be granted upon written request by the Graduate Director given exigent circumstances. If an insufficient number of students indicate their intent to register for a course, that course may be cancelled. Purpose of this document: Significant planning is required in scheduling courses that meet the needs and interests of students, availability of faculty, and allow for the fulfillment of degree requirements in a timely manner. As per University policy, a minimum number of students must be enrolled in a course for that class to be offered. When an insufficient number of students register for a course, that class must be cancelled. Course cancellation adversely affects those students who did enroll, is an inefficient use of faculty time spent preparing for a course that did not make, and presents last minute scheduling issues for both students and faculty. This document is intended to facilitate a greater variety of course offerings scheduled in a manner that minimizes class time conflicts.
