Presentation Verb Simple Time: 10 minutes Past Tense

Choral Reading Activity Story : Goldilock And The Three Bears 1. Teacher provides each student with a copy of the story. (In
the beginning paragraph of the story, there are some highlighted word verbs - which are in past form.)

Teacher shows students the correct way of reading a story (indirectly)

Introduce students to the Verb in Simple Past Tense form.

2. Teacher reads the story and students

will read along. 3. Teacher introduces simple past tenses in the first paragraph of the story (past form of regular verbs only). 4. Teacher asks students to read the sentences once and to spell the past form of regular verbs twice. Practice Time: 13 minutes Verb Simple Past Tense Verbs - Simple Past Tense 1. Using the story, teacher provides other examples of regular verbs that are in past form. 2. Teacher writes the sentences on the whiteboard and students are asked to read 2 times for each example given. 3. Teacher asks the students to identify other verbs and list it down in the exercise book. Students are also required to write the verbs base form. . Students gets to practise their new knowledge To enforce memory on learning.

Pair Work : Complete Me 1. Teacher distributes worksheets to the pairs in the classroom. 2. Task 1 of the

T&L Materials: Worksheets (containing task 1,2 & 3) Assessment : Checking students

worksheets - require work and give them to identify at least 4 verbs (past form) from the story. 3. Task 2 of the worksheets requires students to match (underline) the verbs in past form to its base form. 4. Teacher then asks students to write two general simple past tenses using any past form verbs learned from the story. Teacher asks few students to read their sentences aloud. 5. Teacher collects the students works and then checks it. Closure Time: 2 minutes Verb Simple Past Tense 1. Teacher asks students about what they have learned. feedback.

Moral Values

2. Teacher emphasizes the moral value of the story to the students. Its really not right to get inside a strangers house. Goldilocks should have waited the owner of the house and not just entered in it, have eaten and ruin everything.
