Before you install

Welcome to Sibelius 7 from Avid. This Quick Start Guide documents how to install and authorize your Sibelius software on Windows and Mac systems. For detailed information on how to use Sibelius, see the comprehensive Sibelius 7 Reference Guide, available from within the software as an on-screen PDF from the File Help page, or as a printed book, available for separate purchase from Avids online store or your authorized Avid reseller. Check box contents Before you start installing Sibelius, check the contents of the Sibelius 7 box. In addition to this Quick Start Guide you should find a cardboard disc wallet containing four DVD-ROMs, labeled Program Disc, Content 1, Content 2 and Content 3. You should also find a small card with some important instructions on it. The specific card depends on the kind of license you have purchased:
Single-user professional licenses contain a white card with the heading Activating Sibelius, with a label showing the System ID and Activation ID for your copy of
Sibelius stuck to it. If you bought this kind of license, you can proceed right along to installing, activating and registering your new copy of Sibelius 7. Single-user licenses bought by teachers/institutions or students at an academic discount contain a green card with the heading Education Eligibility Verification see below Single-user competitive crossgrades contain a yellow card with the heading Crossgrade Eligibility Verification see below Single-user upgrades contain a blue card with the heading Upgrade Eligibility Verification see below. Before you install 5
Multi-user licenses and upgrades bought by educational institutions do not contain a card: you should have received your System ID and Activation ID on a separate entitlement certificate supplied to you along with your box. Likewise, if you bought Sibelius from Avids online store as a download, and also ordered a Media Pack so that you would have a set of physical discs to reinstall from in future, your box will not contain a card. To retrieve your System ID and Activation ID or verification code, go to https://account.avid.com and sign in using the email address and password you used to make your purchase from the online store. Once you have signed in, click Your Products, and youll find the download links together with your System ID and Activation ID or verification code on that page. Education eligibility verification To qualify for the academic discount for Sibelius, you must complete a simple eligibility verification process before you receive the serial number that will allow you to permanently activate and register your software. On the green card included in your box you will find a verification code that allows you to begin the online eligibility checking process through Avids partner, Identit-E, as follows:
First, make sure you have one acceptable form of proof of your academic status.
Acceptable forms include: a unique, valid email address associated with an educational entity (e.g. ending in .edu or .ac.uk); school photo identification (including a date validating current status); or a letter from the institution confirming current academic status together with a valid photo ID. The letter must be on the schools letterhead and signed by a faculty/staff member if you are a student, or signed by a colleague (including contact details) if you are faculty/staff. 6 Before you install
Next, visit the eligibility verification portal at www.identit-e.com/avid Follow the steps provided in the verification portal. You will be prompted to enter your
verification code, which is printed on a label on the green card in your Sibelius box. You will then be presented with options to enter your academic email address, upload a scan of your proof, or email or fax your proof. You will normally receive your System ID and Activation ID within two business days, during which time you can use Sibelius in its fully-functional trial mode. Once you receive your System ID and Activation ID, you can proceed to activate and register your copy of Sibelius see Activating and registering Sibelius on page 12. If you have any questions about the verification process, please visit www.identit-e.com/ avid and click Contact us. For further information about education eligibility, please visit www.avid.com/education. Competitive crossgrade eligibility verification To qualify for the competitive crossgrade discount for Sibelius, you must complete a simple eligibility verification process before you can activate and register your software. On the yellow card in your box you will find a verification code and instructions to visit www.sibelius.com/verify. You must complete a simple online form and provide proof of qualification in the form of a valid serial number for the qualifying product. Verification normally takes no longer than 2-3 working days, during which time you can use Sibelius in its fully-functional trial mode. Once you receive your System ID and Activation ID by email, you can activate and register your copy of Sibelius see Activating and registering Sibelius on page 12.
Before you install
Upgrade eligibility verification When you purchase a single-user Sibelius upgrade, you must complete a simple eligibility verification process before you can activate and register your software. On the blue card in your box you will find an upgrade redemption code and instructions to visit account.avid.com/activation. You must provide the redemption code from your blue card and your Sibelius serial number (beginning SC or SW), which you received when you purchased your first version of Sibelius. You will then be given a new System ID and Activation ID for Sibelius 7. If you encounter any problems with redeeming your upgrade, you can continue to use Sibelius 7 in its fully-functional trial mode in the meantime. Once you have activated your upgrade, you can proceed to register your upgrade see Activating and registering Sibelius on page 12. Problems? If you do not have the appropriate eligibility verification card in your box, please contact the reseller from whom you purchased your copy of Sibelius 7. If you encounter problems with educational eligibility verification, please contact Identit-E by visiting www.identit-e.com/avid and clicking Contact Us. Installing Sibelius 7
System requirements Before you install, check that your computer meets the system requirements:
Windows: Windows Vista SP2 with the Platform Update Pack or later, Windows 7 SP1
32-bit or 64-bit or later; Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) or faster; 1GB RAM (4GB+ recommended); 750MB hard disk space for Sibelius alone (40GB for Sibelius plus Sibelius 7 Sounds), fast hard disk recommended; DVD-ROM drive; ASIO-compatible sound card recommended; printer, scanner, microphone, MIDI keyboard required for some features. Mac: Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, Mac OS X 10.7.2 or later; Intel Core 2 Duo or faster; 1GB RAM (4GB+ recommended); 750MB hard disk space for Sibelius alone (40GB for Sibelius plus Sibelius 7 Sounds), fast hard disk recommended; printer, scanner, microphone, MIDI keyboard required for some features. Administrator privileges You must install Sibelius using a user account on your computer with administrator privileges. In order to register Sibelius after installing it, you must either be using an administrator user account, or be able to provide an administrator username and password when prompted. Therefore we recommend that you install Sibelius, then after installing it, launch it and register it as an administrator user. After having registered the software, we recommend that you run Sibelius (like all other applications) as a non-privileged user, to increase the security of your system.
Installing Sibelius 7 Sibelius 7 is supplied on four DVD-ROM discs. To install Sibelius itself, insert the disc labeled Program Disc. On Windows, a pretty menu will appear with various options. On Mac, a window will appear with a number of different installer icons. To install Sibelius 7, click (or double-click on Mac) Install Sibelius 7, and follow the onscreen instructions. If you have purchased a network multi-user license, you should install and activate the Sibelius Licence Server before you install Sibelius on any of the client machines on your network. Refer to the separate Sibelius Licence Server User Guide, which you will find inside the Network Licence Users Only folder on your Sibelius 7 program DVD-ROM. Installing Sibelius 7 Sounds The included Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library will occupy around 40GB space on your hard disk, so be sure that you have sufficient space on the destination drive before you begin installation. The library is split across all four DVD-ROM discs, starting on Program Disc and continuing on Content 1, Content 2 and Content 3. It doesnt matter in which order you install the discs, but do ensure that you install the content from all four discs, otherwise when Sibelius later tries to load the sounds, you will see lots of errors. To start installation, insert Program Disc, then click Install Sibelius 7 Sounds in the pretty menu on Windows, or double-click Install Sibelius 7 Sounds on Mac. Once the first installer has completed, to continue installation, insert Content 1. On Windows, after a few moments, the installer will run automatically. On Mac, a window will appear: double-click Install Sibelius 7 Sounds to continue.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. The first installer you run will ask you to specify the location where the samples should be installed, but when you insert the other discs, you will not be asked: the installer will simply continue in the same location as before. Once the first installer has completed, insert Content 2 and repeat the process again. Be aware that installation may take several hours, due to the very large size of the sample files. Installing other applications Your Sibelius 7 DVD-ROM includes several other useful applications, which you can install by clicking (or double-clicking on Mac) the following:
Install PhotoScore Lite: music scanning software, which can turn printed sheet
music into editable files that you can transpose, play back, modify and print out, as if you had inputted it into Sibelius yourself. Install this unless you have purchased PhotoScore Ultimate along with your copy of Sibelius, in which case you should install that from its own separate disc. Install AudioScore Lite: music transcription software, which can turn music played on an acoustic instrument into a microphone, or even simple CD audio tracks, and help you to transcribe it into notation that you can edit in Sibelius. Install this unless you have purchased AudioScore Ultimate along with your copy of Sibelius, in which case you should install that from its own separate disc. Install Scorch: browser plug-in, for viewing Sibelius scores directly in your browser.

Activating and registering Sibelius

When you first install Sibelius 7, it runs as a fully-functional 30-day trial. You can activate your software at any time during or after the trial period has expired. Once the trial period expires, you will not be able to save any scores until you complete the activation process. Activation is quick and easy, and can be done either directly using the Internet connection on the computer on which Sibelius is installed, or indirectly using a web browser on another computer. How to activate Sibelius Each time you run Sibelius, you will be reminded how many days remain in your trial period and given the chance to activate. To proceed, you will need your System ID (which is 11 digits long) and Activation ID (which consists of four groups of four letters and numbers). Please refer to Before you install on page 5 for assistance with locating your System ID and Activation ID. To begin activation, click the Activate button in the Try Sibelius dialog that appears each time you run Sibelius, or go to File Help and click the Activate Sibelius 7 button. In either case, a separate application called Avid License Control (otherwise known as ALC) will run. On the first page, you will see a list of installed Avid products, including Sibelius 7. Click the Activate button to the right to proceed (or click Done at the bottom right-hand corner to leave ALC without activating your software). On the next page you are asked to choose between using the Internet connection on the computer on which Sibelius is running, or using the Internet connection on another computer (if the computer on which Sibelius is installed is not connected to the Internet). 12 Activating and registering Sibelius
If possible, choose This computers Internet connection and click Next. On the next page, enter your System ID and Activation ID, and click Activate. After a few moments you will be told that activation was successful, and you can click Done to leave ALC and return to Sibelius. You will then be prompted to register your copy of Sibelius, which you should do as soon as possible: see Benefits of registration below. If you choose not to register now, you will be reminded periodically. If you choose Another computers Internet connection and click Next, you will be shown instructions for how to obtain a license file using another computer, which must be transferred back to the computer on which Sibelius is installed (e.g. using a USB flash drive). You will also need to register your copy of Sibelius using your Internet connection on another computer, by visiting www.sibelius.com/register in your web browser. Benefits of registration After activating your copy of Sibelius, you should also register the software with Avid. When you register, you will receive an Avid Support Code (ASC) that provides you with access to assisted support from our experts for 90 days from the date of registration, either through the online Avid support web site, or by telephone. If you require assisted support beyond the first 90 days, you can purchase additional support, either on a per-incident basis or for a period of a year. Full details for how to contact Avid support is provided in the email sent to you upon successful registration, so be sure to check that the email address you provide is correct. In some countries, where assisted support is provided by local distributors, you will not receive an Avid Support Code when you register: instead, you should contact your distributor for support. Unlimited free support is available 24/7 from the online knowledge base and the user-touser forum at www.sibelius.com/support. Activating and registering Sibelius 13
Activating a second copy Single-user licenses and upgrades for Sibelius 7 permit the use of the software on two computers for your own personal use. Simply install Sibelius on your second computer, then activate it following the instructions in How to activate Sibelius above. Moving a copy of Sibelius To move an activation from one computer to another for example, because you have bought a new notebook and want to transfer the activation from your old notebook to your new one you should deactivate the copy of Sibelius on your old computer, informing our servers that Sibelius is no longer in use on that computer (thus freeing up one of your activations), and then register on your new computer (thus reusing that activation). To do this, on your old computer choose File Help, then on the right-hand side under Product activated, click Deactivate Sibelius 7. Avid License Control (ALC) will run: click the Deactivate button corresponding to Sibelius 7 in the list of installed products, and follow the on-screen instructions. Note that you can only deactivate your copy of Sibelius if the computer on which Sibelius is installed can connect to the Internet. Now install Sibelius on your new computer, and activate that copy following the instructions in How to activate Sibelius above. Problems? Vrification d'ligibilit ducation Pour bnficier d'un prix spcial scolaire sur Sibelius, vous devez effectuer un processus de vrification d'ligibilit simple, avant de recevoir le numro de srie qui vous permettra d'activer et d'enregistrer votre logiciel de faon permanente. Privilges dadministrateur Vous devez installer Sibelius en utilisant un compte utilisateur avec des privilges dadministrateur. Pour pouvoir enregistrer Sibelius aprs lavoir install, vous devez soit utiliser un compte d'utilisateur administrateur, soit pouvoir fournir un nom d'utilisateur et un mot de passe administrateur lorsqu'ils vous seront demands. Par consquent, nous vous recommandons dinstaller Sibelius, et une fois linstallation termine, de le lancer et de l'enregistrer en tant quutilisateur administrateur. Installer Sibelius7 Sibelius7 est fourni sur quatre disques DVD-ROM. Pour installer Sibelius lui-mme, insrez le disque tiquet Program Disc. Sous Windows, un menu apparatra, prsentant diverses options. Sur Mac, une fentre apparatra, avec une srie d'icnes d'installation diffrentes. Pour installer Sibelius7, cliquez (ou double-cliquez, sur Mac) sur Installer Sibelius7, et suivez les instructions l'cran. Si vous avez achet une licence multi-utilisateur rseau, vous devez installer et activer le serveur de licences Sibelius avant d'installer Sibelius sur les postes client de votre rseau. Consultez le Guide de l'utilisateur du serveur de licences Sibelius, que vous trouverez dans le dossier Network Licence Users Only de votre DVD-ROM Sibelius7. Installer Sibelius7 Sounds La bibliothque incluse d'chantillons sonores Sibelius7 Sounds occupera environ 40Go d'espace sur votre disque dur, assurez-vous donc de disposer d'assez d'espace sur le disque de destination avant de dmarrer l'installation. Les fichiers d'installation de la bibliothque sont rpartis sur les quatre DVD-ROM, en commenant par le disque Program Disc, puis en continuant avec les disques Content 1, Content 2 et Content 3. L'ordre dans lequel vous procdez l'installation des disques n'a pas d'importance; cependant, assurez-vous de bien installer le contenu des quatre disques, sous peine de rencontrer toute une srie d'erreurs lorsque Sibelius tentera de charger les sons. Pour commencer l'installation, insrez le disque Program Disc, puis cliquez sur Installer Sibelius7 Sounds partir du menu sous Windows, ou double-cliquez sur Installer Sibelius7 Sounds sur Mac. Suivez les instructions l'cran pour terminer l'installation. Le premier programme d'installation que vous lancerez vous invitera spcifier l'endroit o les chantillons devront tre installs. Cette question n'apparatra plus lorsque vous insrerez les autres disques: l'installation se poursuivra l'emplacement spcifi. Une fois l'installation du premier disque termine, insrez le disque Content 2 et rptez l'opration. Soyez conscient du fait que l'installation prendra plusieurs heures, en raison de la taille trs importante des fichiers chantillons. Installer d'autres applications Votre DVD-ROM Sibelius7 comprend plusieurs autres applications fort utiles, que vous pouvez installer en cliquant (ou en double-cliquant, sur Mac) sur les choix suivants:

Installez ce logiciel, moins d'avoir achet AudioScore Ultimate avec votre copie de Sibelius, auquel cas vous devez l'installer partir de son propre disque. Lorsque vous installez Sibelius7 pour la premire fois, il fonctionne en tant que version d'valuation de 30jours, entirement fonctionnelle. Vous pouvez activer votre logiciel tout moment, avant ou aprs l'expiration de la priode d'valuation. Aprs expiration de la priode d'valuation, vous ne pourrez plus sauvegarder vos partitions tant que vous n'aurez pas activ votre logiciel. La procdure d'activation est simple et rapide, et peut tre effectue soit directement en utilisant la connexion Internet de l'ordinateur sur lequel Sibelius est install, soit indirectement en utilisant un navigateur Web sur un autre ordinateur. Comment activer Sibelius chaque ouverture de Sibelius, le nombre de jours restant pour votre priode d'valuation est affich, et vous avez la possibilit d'activer votre logiciel. Pour cela, vous aurez besoin de votre ID systme (comprenant 11caractres) et de votre ID d'activation (form de quatre groupes de quatre lettres et chiffres). Consultez Avant dinstaller le programme la page 17 pour obtenir de l'aide permettant de localiser vos ID systme et ID d'activation. Pour lancer la procdure d'activation, cliquez sur le bouton Activer de la bote de dialogue Essayer Sibelius qui s'ouvre chaque fois que vous lancez Sibelius, ou allez sur la page Fichier Aide et cliquez sur le bouton Activer Sibelius7. Sur la page suivante, vous devrez choisir une mthode d'activation: en utilisant la connexion Internet de l'ordinateur sur lequel Sibelius est install, ou la connexion Internet d'un autre ordinateur (si l'ordinateur sur lequel Sibelius est install n'est pas connect Internet). Si possible, slectionnez la connexion Internet de cet ordinateur et cliquez sur Suivant. Sur la page suivante, saisissez vos ID systme et ID d'activation, puis cliquez sur Activer. Aprs quelques instants, un message vous informera de la russite de l'activation. Vous pouvez ensuite cliquer sur Effectu pour quitter ALC et revenir dans Sibelius. Si vous choisissez de reporter l'enregistrement, un message de rappel s'affichera rgulirement. En slectionnant l'option la connexion Internet d'un autre ordinateur puis en cliquant sur Suivant, des instructions s'afficheront pour vous permettre d'obtenir un fichier de licence sur un autre ordinateur. Vous devrez ensuite transfrer ce fichier sur l'ordinateur sur lequel Sibelius est install ( l'aide d'une cl USB par exemple). Vous devrez galement enregistrer votre copie de Sibelius en utilisant la connexion Internet d'un autre ordinateur, en vous rendant sur le site www.sibelius.com/register. Avantages de l'enregistrement Aprs avoir activ votre copie de Sibelius, il est conseill d'enregistrer votre logiciel auprs d'Avid. Lors de l'enregistrement, vous recevrez un code de support Avid (Avid Support Code ou ASC), qui vous permet de bnficier d'une assistance de nos experts pendant 90jours partir de la date d'enregistrement, soit via le site Web de support en ligne Avid, soit par tlphone. Si vous avez besoin d'assistance au-del de ces premiers 90jours, vous avez la possibilit d'acheter une formule de support supplmentaire, soit pour un incident ponctuel, soit pour une priode d'une anne. Dplacer une copie de Sibelius Pour dplacer une activation d'un ordinateur un autre (par exemple, lorsque vous avez achet un nouveau portable, et que vous souhaitez transfrer l'activation de votre ancien portable vers le nouveau), vous devez dsactiver la copie de Sibelius sur votre ancien ordinateur. Cette procdure informe nos serveurs que Sibelius n'est plus utilis sur ce poste (et libre ainsi l'une de vos activations). Per questo vi consigliamo prima di installare Sibelius e quindi eseguirlo e registrarlo come utente amministratore. Installare Sibelius 7 Sibelius 7 diviso su 4 dischi DVD-ROM. Per installare Sibelius vero e proprio, inserite il disco Disco di programma. Su Windows, apparir un accattivante menu con diverse opzioni. Su Mac, apparir una finestra con diverse icone di istallazione. Per installare Sibelius 7, fate clic (o clic due volte su Mac) su Installa Sibelius 7 e seguite le istruzioni su schermo. Se avete acquistato una licenza multi-utente di rete, dovreste installare e attivare il Server delle licenze di Sibelius prima di installare Sibelius su qualsiasi altro client della vostra rete. Consultate il Manuale dell'utente del Server delle licenze di Sibelius separato che troverete nella cartella Solo licenze utenti di rete che troverete nel DVD-ROM di programma di Sibelius 7. Installare Sibelius 7 Sounds La libreria di campioni inclusa Sibelius 7 Sounds sample occuper circa 40GB di spazio su disco, assicuratevi di avere spazio a sufficienza sul disco di destinazione prima di iniziare l'installazione. La libreria suddivisa tra tutti e quattro i dischi DVD-ROM a partire dal Disco di programma e proseguendo con Contenuti 1, Contenuti 2 e Contenuti 3. Non importa l'ordine in cui installate i dischi, ma assicuratevi di installare il contenuto di tutti e quattro i dischi, altrimenti quando Sibelius dopo cercher di caricare tutti i suoni si verificheranno molti errori. Per iniziare l'installazione, inserite il Disco di programma, quindi fate clic su Installa Sibelius 7 Sounds nel menu di Windows, oppure fate doppio clic su Installa Sibelius 7 Sounds su Mac. Il primo software di installazione vi chieder di specificare la posizione dove volete installare i campioni, ma quando inserite gli altri dischi, non vi verr richiesto: il software di installazione continuer semplicemente nella stessa posizione di prima. Una volta terminata la prima installazione, inserite Contenuti 2 e ripetete nuovamente la procedura. Tenete presente che l'installazione durer diverse ore, date le grandi dimensioni dei campioni. Installare altre applicazioni Il vostro DVD-ROM di Sibelius 7 contiene altre utili applicazioni che potete installare facendo clic (o doppio clic su Mac) sulle seguenti voci:
Installa PhotoScore Lite: software di scansione musicale che pu trasformare spartiti
in file modificabili che potete trasporre, riprodurre, modificare e stampare, come se li aveste inseriti voi stessi in Sibelius. Installatelo a meno che non abbiate acquistato PhotoScore Ultimate insieme alla vostra copia di Sibelius, in qual caso dovreste installarlo dal suo disco apposito. Installa AudioScore Lite: software di trascrizione musicale che pu catturare la musica suonata da uno strumento acustico tramite un microfono, o anche semplici tracce CD audio e aiutarvi a trasformarle in notazione modificabile tramite Sibelius. Installatelo a meno che non abbiate acquistato AudioScore Ultimate insieme alla vostra copia di Sibelius, in qual caso dovreste installarlo dal suo disco apposito. Installa Scorch: plug-in per browser internet, per vedere le partiture di Sibelius direttamente nel browser.

Attivare e registrare Sibelius

Quando installate Sibelius 7 per la prima volta, si avvia per un periodo di prova completa per 30 giorni. Potete attivare il software in qualsiasi momento durante il periodo di prova oppure dopo che scaduto. Una volta concluso il periodo di prova, non potrete pi salvare le partiture a meno che non completiate il processo di attivazione. L'attivazione facile e veloce, e pu essere fatta direttamente tramite Internet dal computer sul quale installato Sibelius, oppure indirettamente utilizzando un browser internet di un altro computer. Come attivare Sibelius Ogni volta che avviate Sibelius, vi verr ricordato quanti giorni mancano al termine del periodo di prova e vi verr offerta la possibilit di attivare. Per procedere saranno necessari l'ID di sistema (lungo 11 caratteri) e l'ID attivazione (composto di quattro gruppi di quattro lettere e numeri). Consultate Prima dellinstallazione a pagina 31 se necessitate di assistenza per individuare l'ID di sistema e l'ID attivazione. Per iniziare l'attivazione, fate clic sul pulsante Attiva nel riquadro Prova Sibelius che appare ogni volta che avviate Sibelius, oppure andate su File Aiuto e fate clic sul pulsante Attiva Sibelius 7. In entrambi i casi, verr avviata un'applicazione separata chiamata Controllo Licenze Avid (Avid License Control, ALC). Nella prima pagina, vedrete un elenco di prodotti Avid installati, tra cui Sibelius 7. Fate clic sul pulsante Attiva sulla destra per procedere (oppure fate clic su Fatto nell'angolo in basso a destra per abbandonare ALC senza attivare il software).

Nella pagina successiva vi verr chiesto di scegliere tra utilizzare la connessione a Internet del computer sul quale in esecuzione Sibelius, oppure la connessione Internet di un altro computer (se il computer sul quale installato Sibelius non connesso a Internet). Se possibile, selezionate Connessione Internet di questo computer e fate clic su Successivo. Nella pagina seguente, inserite il vostro ID di sistema e il vostro ID attivazione e fare clic su Attiva. Dopo pochi istanti vi verr comunicato che l'attivazione stata completata con successo, e potete fare clic su Fatto per abbandonare ALC e tornare a Sibelius. Vi verr quindi chiesto di registrare la vostra copia di Sibelius, cosa che dovreste fare il prima possibile: v. Benefici della registrazione sotto. Se scegliete di non registrare subito, vi verr ricordato periodicamente. Se selezionate Connessione Internet di un altro computer e fate clic su Successivo, vi verranno mostrate le istruzioni per ottenere un file licenza utilizzando un altro computer; questo file deve essere quindi trasferito nel computer sul quale installato Sibelius (ad es. utilizzando una chiavetta USB). Dovrete inoltre registrare la vostra copia di Sibelius utilizzando la connessione Internet di un altro computer visitando www.sibelius.com/register nel vostro browser.

Benefici della registrazione Dopo aver attivato la vostra copia di Sibelius, dovreste anche registrare il software presso Avid. Installation von Sibelius 7 Sibelius 7 wird auf vier DVDs geliefert. Um Sibelius an sich zu installieren, legen Sie die DVD namens ProgramDisc ein. In Windows erscheint ein hbsches Men mit verschiedenen Optionen. Auf dem Mac erscheint ein Fenster mit einer Reihe unterschiedlicher Installationssymbole. Um Sibelius7 zu installieren, klicken Sie (oder doppelklicken Sie auf dem Mac) auf Install Sibelius7 und folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm. Wenn Sie eine Mehrbenutzer-Netzwerk-Lizenz gekauft haben, sollten Sie zuerst den SibeliusLizenzserver installieren und aktivieren, bevor Sie Sibelius auf einem Client oder im Netzwerk installieren. Um mit der Installation zu beginnen, legen Sie die DVD ProgramDisc ein und klicken Sie im Windows-Men auf Install Sibelius7Sounds; auf dem Mac doppelklicken Sie auf die gleichnamige Option. Install PhotoScore Lite: Notenscan-Software, mit der Sie gedruckte Noten in Dateien
umwandeln knnen, die Sie bearbeiten, transponieren, abspielen, modifizieren und ausdrucken knnen, so, als htten Sie selbst sie in Sibelius eingegeben. Installieren Sie dieses Programm, es sei denn, Sie haben zusammen mit Ihrer Sibelius-Kopie PhotoScore Ultimate gekauft; in diesem Fall sollten Sie die Software von der separaten Disk installieren. Install AudioScore Lite: Notentranskriptions-Software, die Ihnen bei der Transkription von auf einem akustischen Instrument in ein Mikrofon gespielten Noten oder sogar von einfachen CD-Tracks hilft, damit Sie diese in Sibelius weiterbearbeiten knnen. Installieren Sie dieses Programm, es sei denn, Sie haben zusammen mit Ihrer Sibelius-Kopie AudioScoreUltimate gekauft; in diesem Fall sollten Sie die Software von der separaten Disk installieren. Sibelius aktivieren und registrieren

Wenn Sie Sibelius zum ersten Mal installieren, luft es 30 Tage lang im voll funktionsfhigen Testmodus. Sie knnen Ihre Software whrend oder nach der Testperiode jederzeit aktivieren. Wenn die Testdauer abgelaufen ist, knnen Sie keine Partituren mehr speichern, bis Sie die Software aktiviert haben. Die Aktivierung geht schnell und einfach und kann entweder direkt ber die Internetverbindung des Computers, auf dem Sibelius installiert ist, oder indirekt ber einen Webbrowser auf einem anderen Computer vorgenommen werden. Wie Sibelius aktiviert wird Jedes Mal, wenn Sie Sibelius ausfhren, werden Sie daran erinnert, wie viele Testtage Sie noch brig haben, und erhalten die Gelegenheit, die Software zu aktivieren. Dazu bentigen Sie die System-ID (11Zeichen) und die Aktivierungs-ID (4Gruppen, bestehend aus je vier Buchstaben und Ziffern). Wo Sie System-ID und Aktivierungs-ID finden, erfahren Sie unter Bevor Sie installieren (Seite 45). Um den Aktivierungsvorgang zu beginnen, klicken Sie im Dialogfeld Sibelius ausprobieren, das bei jedem Start von Sibelius erscheint, auf die Schaltflche Aktivieren. Oder gehen Sie zu Datei Hilfe und klicken Sie auf Sibelius7 aktivieren. In beiden Fllen wird eine separate Anwendung namens Avid License Control (ALC) aufgerufen. Auf der nchsten Seite whlen Sie zwischen der Aktivierung ber eine Internetverbindung auf dem Computer, auf dem sich Sibelius befindet, oder auf einem anderen Computer (falls der Sibelius-Computer nicht mit dem Internet verbunden ist). Wenn mglich, whlen Sie die Option Internetverbindung dieses Computers und klicken Sie zum Fortfahren auf Next. Geben Sie auf der nchsten Seite Ihre System-ID und Aktivierungs-ID ein und klicken Sie auf Aktivieren. Nach kurzer Zeit wird Ihnen mitgeteilt, dass die Aktivierung erfolgreich war, und Sie knnen auf Fertig klicken, um ALC zu beenden und zu Sibelius zurckzukehren. Sie werden dann aufgefordert, Ihre SibeliusKopie zu registrieren, was Sie sobald wie mglich erledigen sollten: siehe Vorteile der Registrierung weiter unten. Wenn Sie in ALC die Option Internetverbindung eines anderen Computers whlen und auf Weiter klicken, werden Ihnen Anweisungen zum Erhalt einer Lizenzdatei auf einem anderen Computer angezeigt. Eine Sibelius-Kopie bertragen Um die Aktivierung von einem Computer auf einen anderen zu bertragen wenn Sie beispielsweise ein neues Notebook gekauft haben und die Aktivierung von Ihrem alten auf das neue Notebook transferieren mchten, sollten Sie Ihre Sibelius-Kopie auf Ihrem alten Computer deaktivieren und somit unseren Servern mitteilen, dass Sibelius auf diesem Gert nicht mehr in Gebrauch ist (wodurch eine Ihrer Aktivierungen frei wird), und dann auf dem neuen Computer aktivieren (wodurch die frei gewordene Aktivierung wieder verwendet wird). Whlen Sie dazu auf Ihrem alten Computer Datei Hilfe, klicken Sie dann auf der rechten Seite unter Produkt aktiviert auf Sibelius7 deaktivieren. Antes de instalar Sibelius

Te damos la bienvenida a Sibelius7 de Avid. Esta Gua de inicio rpido (Quick Start Guide) te informa sobre cmo instalar y autorizar tu programa Sibelius en sistemas Windows y Mac. Para obtener informacin detallada sobre el uso de Sibelius, consulta la completa Gua de referencia de Sibelius7, disponible desde el programa como archivo PDF al ejecutar Archivo Ayuda, o como libro impreso, disponible para su compra por separado en la Tienda Avid online o en tu distribuidor de Avid autorizado. Comprueba el contenido de la caja Antes de comenzar a instalar Sibelius, comprueba el contenido de la caja de Sibelius7. Las licencias multiusuario y las actualizaciones compradas por instituciones educativas no contienen tarjeta: deberas haber recibido tu ID de sistema y tu ID de activacin en un certificado separado que se suministra junto con la caja. Del mismo modo, si compraste Sibelius en la Tienda Avid online a travs de descarga y tambin pediste un Media Pack para tener un conjunto de discos fsicos desde donde volver a instalar en el futuro, la caja no contendr una tarjeta. Para obtener el ID de sistema, el ID de activacin o el cdigo de verificacin, ve a https://account.avid.com e inicia sesin con la direccin de correo electrnico y la contrasea que utilizaste para hacer tu compra en la tienda online. Una vez que te hayas conectado, haz clic en Tus Productos y en esa pgina encontrars los enlaces de descarga junto con el ID de sistema, el ID de activacin o el cdigo de verificacin. Comprobacin de requisitos para descuento educativo Para cumplir los requisitos del descuento acadmico de Sibelius, debes completar un sencillo proceso de verificacin de elegibilidad antes de recibir el nmero de serie que permitir activar y registrar permanentemente tu software. Primero, asegrate de tener un justificante apropiado de tu situacin acadmica. Las
formas aceptables incluyen: una direccin de correo electrnico vlida y exclusiva vinculada a una entidad educativa (por ejemplo, acabada en .edu o .edu.es); identificacin escolar con foto (con una fecha que valide su vigencia); o

Comprobacin de requisitos para migracin competitiva Para cumplir las condiciones del descuento de migracin competitiva de Sibelius, debes completar un sencillo proceso de comprobacin de requisitos antes de poder activar y registrar tu software. En la tarjeta amarilla de la caja encontrars un cdigo de verificacin e instrucciones para visitar www.sibelius.com/verify. Debes completar un sencillo formulario online y demostrar que cumples con los requisitos mediante un nmero de serie vlido del otro producto que poseas. La verificacin no suele llevar ms de dos o tres das laborables. Durante ese tiempo puedes seguir usando Sibelius en su modo de prueba totalmente funcional. Una vez que recibas por correo electrnico el ID de sistema y el ID de activacin, puedes activar y registrar tu copia de Sibelius consulta Activacin y registro de Sibelius en la pgina 67. Comprobacin de requisitos para actualizacin Cuando adquieras una actualizacin de Sibelius para usuario individual, debes completar un sencillo proceso de verificacin de elegibilidad antes de activar y registrar tu software. Instalacin de Sibelius7
Requisitos del sistema Antes de la instalacin, comprueba que tu ordenador cumple con los requisitos del sistema:

de 32 bits o 64 bits o posterior; Intel Core 2 Duo (o equivalente) o ms rpido; 1 GB de RAM (se recomiendan 4 GB o ms); 750 MB de espacio en disco duro solo para Sibelius (40 GB para Sibelius ms Sibelius7 Sounds), disco duro rpido recomendado; unidad de DVD-ROM; tarjeta de sonido compatible con ASIO recomendada; impresora, escner, micrfono, teclado MIDI requeridos para ciertas funciones. Mac: Mac OS X 10.6.8 o posterior, Mac OS X 10.7.2 o posterior; Intel Core 2 Duo o ms rpido; 1 GB de RAM (se recomiendan 4 GB o ms); 750 MB de espacio en disco duro solo para Sibelius (40 GB para Sibelius ms Sibelius7 Sounds), disco duro rpido recomendado; impresora, escner, micrfono, teclado MIDI requeridos para algunas funciones. Privilegios de administrador Para instalar Sibelius debes utilizar una cuenta de usuario con privilegios de administrador. Para registrar Sibelius despus de haberlo instalado debes utilizar una cuenta de usuario de administrador o estar en posesin de un nombre de usuario y contrasea de administrador. Por tanto, te recomendamos que instales Sibelius y despus de instalarlo, lo inicies y lo registres en calidad de usuario administrador. Una vez registrado el software, es aconsejable ejecutar Sibelius (y todas las dems aplicaciones) como usuario sin privilegios para aumentar la seguridad del sistema.

Instalacin de Sibelius7 Sibelius7 se suministra en cuatro discos DVD-ROM. Para instalar Sibelius, introduce el disco etiquetado como Program Disc. En Windows, aparecer un bonito men con varias opciones. En Mac, aparecer una ventana con varios iconos de instalador. Para instalar Sibelius7, haz clic (o doble clic en Mac) en Install Sibelius7, y sigue las instrucciones en pantalla. Si has adquirido una licencia multiusuario en red, debes instalarla y activar el Servidor de licencias de Sibelius antes de instalar Sibelius en cualquiera de los equipos cliente de tu red. Consulta la Gua de usuario del Servidor de licencias de Sibelius, que encontrars en la carpeta Network Licence Users Only del DVD-ROM del programa Sibelius7. Instalacin de Sibelius7 Sounds La biblioteca de muestras de sonido Sibelius7 Sounds ocupar alrededor de 40 GB de espacio en tu disco duro, as que debes asegurarte de tener suficiente espacio en la unidad de destino antes de empezar la instalacin. La biblioteca se divide en cuatro discos DVD-ROM, etiquetados Program Disc, Content 1, Content 2 y Content 3. No importa el orden en que instales los discos, pero debes asegurarte de instalar los cuatro, porque de lo contrario, cuando Sibelius intente despus cargar los sonidos, aparecern muchsimos errores. Para comenzar la instalacin, inserta el disco Program Disc y haz clic en Install Sibelius 7 Sounds en el bonito men que se mostrar en Windows, o haz doble clic en Install Sibelius 7 Sounds en Mac. Cuando el primer instalador haya concluido, inserta el disco Content 1 para seguir con la instalacin. Tras unos instantes, el instalador se ejecutar automticamente en Windows. En Mac, aparecer una ventana: haz doble clic en Install Sibelius7 Sounds para continuar.

Sigue las instrucciones en pantalla para completar la instalacin. El primer instalador que ejecutes te pedir que indiques la ubicacin donde deben instalarse las muestras, pero cuando introduzcas los otros discos, no te preguntar; el instalador sencillamente continuar en la misma ubicacin de antes. Una vez que se haya completado el primer instalador, inserta Content 2 y repite el proceso. Te advertimos que la instalacin llevar varias horas, debido al enorme tamao de los archivos de muestra. Instalacin de otras aplicaciones Tu DVD-ROM de Sibelius7 incorpora otras aplicaciones tiles, que puedes instalar haciendo clic (o doble clic en Mac) en las opciones siguientes:
Install PhotoScore Lite: software de escaneo de msica que puede convertir partituras
impresas en archivos editables que se pueden transportar, reproducir, modificar e imprimir, como si las hubieras introducido en Sibelius t mismo. Instlalo, salvo que hayas adquirido PhotoScore Ultimate junto con tu copia de Sibelius, en cuyo caso deberas instalarlo desde su propio disco. Install AudioScore Lite: software de transcripcin de msica que puede convertir la msica interpretada en un instrumento acstico frente a un micrfono o incluso pistas sencillas de CD de audio, y ayudarte a transcribir esa msica a notacin editable en Sibelius. Instlalo, salvo que hayas adquirido AudioScore Ultimate junto con tu copia de Sibelius, en cuyo caso deberas instalarlo desde su propio disco. Install Scorch: plug-in del navegador, para visualizar las partituras de Sibelius directamente en tu navegador.

Activacin y registro de Sibelius

Cuando instalas Sibelius7 por primera vez, se ejecutar en un modo de prueba de 30 das totalmente funcional. Puedes activar el software en todo momento durante el tiempo de prueba o despus de que este haya caducado. Al terminar el perodo de prueba, no podrs guardar ms partituras hasta que completes el proceso de activacin. La activacin es rpida y fcil, y puede hacerse directamente con una conexin a Internet en el ordenador en que Sibelius est instalado, o indirectamente con un navegador de Internet en otro ordenador. Cmo activar Sibelius Cada vez que ejecutes Sibelius, se te recordar cuntos das quedan del perodo de prueba y podrs activar el software. Para proceder, debers introducir el ID de sistema (11 dgitos) y el ID de activacin (que consiste en cuatro grupos de cuatro letras y nmeros). Consulta Antes de instalar Sibelius en la pgina 59 si necesitas ayuda para encontrar el ID de sistema y el ID de activacin. Para comenzar el proceso de activacin, haz clic en el botn Activar en el cuadro de dilogo Probar Sibelius, que aparece cada vez que inicias Sibelius; o ve a Archivo Ayuda y haz clic en el botn Activar Sibelius 7. Se abrir una aplicacin aparte llamada Avid License Control (tambin conocida como ALC). En la primera pgina vers una lista de productos de Avid instalados, incluido Sibelius7. Haz clic en el botn Activar de la derecha para seguir adelante (o haz clic en Listo en la esquina inferior derecha para salir de ALC sin activar el software).

En la siguiente pgina debes elegir entre usar la conexin a Internet del ordenador en el que se ejecuta Sibelius o la conexin a Internet de otro ordenador (si el equipo en el que est instalado Sibelius no tiene conexin a Internet). Si es posible, elige Conexin a Internet de este ordenador y haz clic en Siguiente. En la siguiente pgina, introduce el ID de sistema y el ID de activacin y haz clic en Activar. Tras unos momentos se te comunicar que la activacin se ha completado con xito. Haz clic en Listo para salir de ALC y volver a Sibelius. Se te pedir entonces que registres tu copia de Sibelius. Debes hacerlo lo antes posible; consulta Ventajas del registro a continuacin. Si eliges no registrar la copia en ese momento, se te recordar de forma peridica. Si eliges la opcin Conexin a Internet de otro ordenador y haces clic en Siguiente, se mostrarn instrucciones para obtener un archivo de licencia desde otro ordenador. Debes transferir este archivo al ordenador en el que est instalado Sibelius (utilizando una unidad flash USB, por ejemplo). Tambin tendrs que registrar tu copia de Sibelius desde el ordenador con conexin a Internet: escribe www.sibelius.com/register en el navegador web. Ventajas del registro Tras activar tu copia de Sibelius, deberas registrar el software con Avid. Al hacerlo, recibirs un Cdigo de Soporte Avid (ASC) que te da acceso a soporte asistido de nuestros especialistas durante los 90 das siguientes a la fecha de registro, mediante la pgina web de soporte online de Avid o por telfono. Si necesitas soporte asistido despus de los primeros 90 das, puedes adquirir soporte adicional, bien de pago por cada incidente o bien por un perodo de un ao. Se te proporcionarn ms detalles sobre cmo establecer contacto con el soporte de Avid en el correo electrnico que se te enviar al registrarte, as que asegrate de comprobar que la direccin de correo electrnico que facilites sea correcta.

Activacin de una segunda copia Las licencias y actualizaciones de usuario individual para Sibelius7 permiten activar el software en dos ordenadores para tu propio uso personal. Trasferir una copia de Sibelius Para transferir una activacin de un ordenador a otro (por ejemplo, porque te has comprado un nuevo porttil y deseas pasar la activacin del porttil antiguo al nuevo) debes desactivar la copia de Sibelius en tu ordenador antiguo, informando a nuestros servidores de que Sibelius ya no est en uso en ese ordenador (por lo que se libera una de tus activaciones), y registrar el producto en tu nuevo ordenador (utilizando esa misma activacin). Para hacerlo, en tu antiguo ordenador escoge Archivo Ayuda, y en el lado derecho debajo de Producto autorizado, haz clic en Desactivar Sibelius7. Se ejecutar Avid License Control (ALC). Haz clic en el botn Desactivar correspondiente a Sibelius 7 en la lista de productos instalados y sigue las instrucciones en pantalla.
