The Law of Confession

Creflo Dollar God has given us a powerful method to obtain His promises, and it is up to us to use it. That method is confession. Confession, as it pertains to the Bible, is when you speak the Word of God out loud. Words are spiritual containers that release either fear or faith. Every time you speak, you are activating spiritual forces that will affect your life. This is why it is so important to be mindful of the words we speak and to make sure we are only saying what God has said in His Word. Similar to the law of gravity, the law of confession will work for anyone who will get involved with it. Many Christians who have been defeated in life are defeated because they believe and confess the wrong things. They dont realize that their words are activating a spiritual law that is working against them. We must understand the law of confession if we want things to work for us. We have been given access to the power of God through our words, which are weapons against the enemy. Satan is constantly applying pressure to our minds in order to get us to quit in these last days; however, we do not have to allow hard times or pressure to defeat us. We can use the Word of God as a weapon against the enemy, and win. In order to be victorious over the attacks of the enemy, we must think, believe, and speak in line with Gods Word. In fact, believing the Word in our hearts is the prerequisite for our confessions having a significant impact in our lives. Mark 9:23 says, Jesus said unto him, I f thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Faith is the force that must be in operation in order for our confessions to come to pass. Sometimes people confess Gods Word religiously, mechanically, and out of fear; however, these types of confessions dont accomplish anything. We must believe that the things we confess from the Bible are coming to pass as we pray and speak them. We can look to God as an example of how faith-filled words cause things to manifest in the natural realm. In the biblical account of how God created the earth, the Word says that He spoke and whatever He spoke came into existence (Genesis 1). Gods words are full of faith, which is what caused them to become actual physical substance. The things we see in this earth today, from the sky to the trees, are the result of words that were spoken by God. The same creative power that God possesses has been invested in us. As spiritual beings who possess the nature of God, we have the ability to speak things into existence just like God did. This isnt some mystical, New Age idea; it is scriptural. When Jesus walked the earth, He imitated His Father by speaking what the Father spoke. As a result, He saw results everywhere He went. Likewise, we must be imitators of God, who think, act, and speak like Him. When we speak His Words, we release His creative ability into the earth, and something always happens. When we believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that the words we speak will come to pass, we will see what we are speaking (Mark 11:22-23).

The Bible says that all things are possible for those who believe. Confessing Gods Word is so powerful because every time we hear ourselves speaking the Scriptures, we are actually planting faith in our hearts. The more we become established on the Word of God through speaking it on a consistent basis, the more our faith will grow. And faith, when acted upon, will always produce the desired results. There shouldnt be a day that passes that the Believer does not speak the Word of God. I t is the Word that strengthens our faith, and releases the power of God into our situations and circumstances. By making daily confessions, we frame our worlds with the Word of God, shut the devil out of our lives, and plant faith in our hearts. It is the key to victory and supernatural manifestation.

Have you ever known someone who had a poverty mentality? You can usually tell by the words he or she speaks. It is an attitude that never expects anything above and beyond its current reality. People with a poverty mind-set are content and satisfied with lack and insufficiency, even when it is clearly destroying their lives. Their surroundings, attitude, words, and decisions reflect a way of thinking that does not trust God for provision. As a result, they continue to experience poverty in many areas of their lives. Poverty involves lack, and it is not limited to the financial realm. Anytime we are lacking something in an area of our lives, poverty is present. A person can be poor where his or her relationships are concerned, or even mentally and emotionally. If people are lacking good health, they are poor where their physical condition is concerned. You see, poverty is designed to affect and infect all aspects of the human experience, which is why the enemy wants to keep people in the dark about what God has made available to them through His Word. Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge. What we dont know can hurt us, which is why we must read the Bible and obtain knowledge from Gods Word that can be applied to our everyday lives. As it pertains to lack and poverty, God has a lot to say. He wants us to live an abundant life that lacks nothing! Not sure abundance is really His will or not? Take a look at what the Bible has to say. In John 10:10 Jesus says, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. The abundant life, which covers the spirit, soul, and body (or physical realm) is the reason why Jesus came to the earth! He wants us to be whole in our finances, health, relationships, and emotions. For us to be a part of Gods kingdom and be in lack means there is something we dont understand or are not executing from Gods Word. Since poverty is a curse, and a curse doesnt come without a cause, we must examine our lives for sin and determine whether we are renewing our minds with the Word of God in specific areas. When lack and poverty govern the way we think, our outer circumstances will reflect that inward state of being, and we will make choices that only push us further into poverty. Third John 2 says that as our spirit and soul are prospering, our physical condition will prosper as well. The key to a life of prosperity is to develop an inner image of it, which only comes by way of the Word of God. When we take the Word and

meditate on it constantly, it becomes rooted in our spirits, and the result is a changed mind-set. When the Word is the absolute governing force in our lives, the abundant life will be seen in our outward circumstances. There will be no doubt in anyones mind that we are living the blessed life. Gods desire for us to prosper and not be in lack is not just so we can live th e good life. He wants us to be so filled and overflowing with abundant life that we have a surplus of blessings to bestow upon others. Whether it is financial and material resources, wisdom, love, healing, or deliverance, we can impact others more effectively when our lives are free from poverty. Take some time to examine your life and locate areas where poverty has gotten a foothold. Change your thinking by renewing your mind with Gods Word. As your thinking changes, your feelings, decisions, and actions will follow suit. As your soul prospers, so will your life!

What would be your answer if asked, Do you have a heart for God? A heart for God is one that is concerned only with pleasing Him. It describes a person who puts Gods Word and will above all else. Whatever is most important to you will show in all you do. What drives and motivates you from day to day? Is it the accumulation of material wealth or are you truly seeking to become what God has purposed you to be? The heart of a man is his spirit. It is the place where your life force exists. Just like the life of an oak tree is housed in its roots, your spirit, or heart, houses your life and determines what comes out of you (Proverbs 4:23). Matthew 6:21 declares, For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Locate what you treasure and you will discover what has become the focus of your life. If your house, car and monetary wealth are your treasures, then youve located what is most important to you. If God is your treasure; if He is your prime focus and desire, then your heart is with Him. When you keep Him first in your life, everything else will follow (Matthew 6:33). What I want you to understand is, it doesnt matter how religious you act; what is in your heart will be revealed through every word you speak and action you take. Peoples lives are touched when you demonstrate Gods love and obey His Word. Shouts of Hallelujah dont mean a thing if you are harboring unforgiveness and strife. God doesn't judge a man by what is on the outside; He looks at the inner man. First Chronicles 28:9 reveals Gods relationship with man and his heart, And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts... There are a lot of Christians who boldly say God i s the head of their lives, but when you examine their hearts, the truth is far from that confession. In fact, I can tell where a mans heart is just by looking at his checkbook and calendar; because where he spends his money and time will tell me everything I need to know about his relationship with God.

Do you want to develop a heart for God? You can by first examining yourself and honestly locating what has become your focus. Prioritize the issues in your life according to Gods Word. This takes a conscio us decision on your part. Ask God to make you sensitive to His plans and purpose for your life. Meditate on the Word, so His promises can take root on the inside of you. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and make the choice to make God your priority. When you seek the things of God, eventually your thoughts and desires will align with His. Focus on the Father and His Kingdom. When He becomes the center of your life, you will have every good thing He promises you. Think about what is most important in your life. Dont allow the things of this world to overshadow God or His Word. He knows all hearts, including yours; and when He begins to search you, the question is what will He find? What will He find sitting on the throne of your heart, which was intended for Him alone? Have you replaced Him with other things such as material wealth, selfish ambitions or relationships with people? Decide today to make a mark on this world by maintaining a heart that is focused on pleasing God only.

The issue is, are we pursuing the promises of God so they can materialize in our lives? There is no such thing as microwave results in the kingdom of God. If we want to experience the manifestation of Gods promises, we must do our part. By diligently doing the following steps, everything God promised us will become a reality. 1. ods promises are eternal, and what He has said in His Word cannot be altered in any way (Psalm 119:89). Locate the promise in the Word of God. Whatever God says is the final authority. Whether it deals with healing, finances, or deliverance, if God said it, you can bank on it. The first step to obtaining the promise is to find as many scriptures as you can in the Bible that deal with that particular issue. When you find them, begin sowing them in your heart, just as a farmer sows seed (Mark 4:14). 2. Believe. When it comes to faith, doubt is an enemy to your manifestation. You must believe what God says, understanding that it is a settled issue (Psalm 119:89). If you believe and refuse to let doubt in your heart, the promise will be yours. 3. Settle that the promise is the will of God for you. Sometimes we believe God can and will do things, just not for us! It is Gods will for all people to obtain His promises. 4. Ask God according to John 14:13, 14. The Lord says if we ask the Father for anything, in the name of Jesus, He will answer our prayers. We know that anything that is found in the Bible is the will of God, so when we ask for these things, with the right motives in our hearts, God is faithful to answer us. 5. Meditate on the promise daily. Joshua 1:8 says that we are to meditate on the Word of God day and night. Daily and nightly meditation, through studying, pondering, and speaking Gods Word aloud will buil d faith into our hearts. 6. Cultivate faith, love, and patience.

Nothing in the kingdom of God operates without faith. Faith works by love and patiencewhich is remaining the same in the face of challenges, and must be employed in order to see the final outcome. 7. 8. Confess the Word of God. Employ your angels. Dont let a day go by without declaring the promise several times. Angels are sent to minister to the heirs of salvation. They hearken to the voice of the Word, so keep speaking the Scriptures and put your angels to work! 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. Call those things that are not as though they were. Dont speak anything contrary to the Word concerning the matter (Proverbs 18:21). Forgive. Believe youve received the promise. Live in the fear of the Lord.

If your mouth doesnt change, your fruit wont chan ge! You will not see manifestation if you are in unforgiveness (Mark 11:24).

A lifestyle of purity, holiness, and absolute obedience is the key to the blessing flowing in your life (Proverbs 19:23; Psalm 37:7-9). 14. 15. Remain consistent. Prayer, fasting, and obedience are critical. The reason most Christians dont see the results they are expecting is because one or more of these steps have not been implemented. I encourage you to go down the line and identify which of these areas you need to put to work. When our faith meets corresponding action, manifestation is inevitable. Dont just sit back and wait for something to happen. Pursue the promises of God so you can obtain whats rightfully yours! Consistency is the key to the breakthrough.
