New & Better Solution

CSS A elastic and stress-absorbing compound called Elasturan is cast into the entire length and diameter of the conductor/caisson guide. CSS entirely replace the traditional need for centering and chocking solutions. CSS extend the life of conductors & caissons. CSS allow vertical movement of conductor/caisson

Traditional vs. CSS

Traditional Methods
Steel against steel solutions

CSS
Steel against stress-absorbent material

Need to perfectly align centering guide

Chocking solution

No need for centering guide

Do not require maintenance

Traditional vs. CSS

Traditional Methods
Not applied to entire conductor guide Requires corrosion protection Customized solution

CSS
Uses 100% of conductor guide Applicable material data & specifications Adaptable & scalable solution Eliminating point stress loads.

Advantages with the CSS:

First installed in 1999, at the Sleipner platform. No maintenance has been required on this CSS installation. Easy & safe installation. Equipment for installation can be used in classified areas. Dynamic loads are reduced,
Stress loads are distributed over a wider area, thus point stress loads are eliminated. Installation is performed with use of rope access technique, no need for scaffold. Subsea application available. Performed 100 % with ROV. No divers.

3 step installation process

Topside installation of CSS are performed with rope access technique, hence no scaffold is required. The Oceaneering personnel have the necessary experience and knowledge for anchor point rigging and setting barriers.

Removal of steel centralizers are performed by experienced rope access technicians.

1. Lower conductor tube

Wax the lower part of the guide Mount the waxed cast form Fill up the cast with Elasturan

10

2. Middle conductor tube

Fill the middle with Elasturan Remove the steel centering

11

3. Top conductor tube

Wax the upper part of the guide Fill the top with Elasturan Remove the cast form
