Reflecting on Preliminary Work

How does your prelim represent particular social groups? My prelim represents the college social group, so school students that attend the college and possibly their parents or school staff eg. Governors. This represents the social groups of certain social groups within the college such as a fashion interested social group within the college. Who would be the intended audience for your product? The magazine would target a wide audience because it includes various different topics which are interesting for the students such as the careers that other students are taking upon and fashion which attracts certain students who care about the clothing style. The main target audience would be students who have an interest within what is happening in the school. Parents may also be target audience as they are interested in what is happening within their son/daughters college. How did you attract/ address your audience? I attracted the sport audience by adding cover lines which includes information related to sport such as Olympian. There is also a large main image of a sportsman with trainers hanging around his neck and a sports headband on. I also attracted the governors and parents by including the school name within my mast head: LCE, Lutterworth College Exposed. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I have learnt some new techniques using Photoshop such as the lasso which lets me cut the background of the image out and place the object on the image straight onto the background layer. I have also had some attempts at using the AVS set up, which is the white back screen, camera, standing lights and camera stand. I used the lights at certain angles to ensure I didnt get any shadows on my image and that the camera was at a certain height to get the correct amount of model in the image.
