GPS Safety

Do not program the GPS while driving. Always stop your vehicle when programming or changing the settings on tfre GPS. Programming the GPS while driving can cause you to take your eyes off the road and could result in an accident. Only glance at the display monilor while driving. Prolonged periods of viewing while driving could result in an accident. The GPS is used only as a navigation aid. lt is not for precise measurement of direction, distance, speed, time or location. The user must follow all traffic signs and local regulations. Do not rely on the navigation system to route you to the closest emergency services. Not all emergency services are in the database. Make sure the volume is set to a level that still allows you to hear outside traffic and emergency vehicles. Regardless of how and where the navigation system directs you, it is your responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe and legal manner. GPS satellite signals cannot pass through some materials. When you are inside a tunnel or a building, the GPS signal may not be available.

The GPS is a navigation device that receives information from GPS satellites and then will display a map on the screen for you to follow. Simply Vpe in your destination and it will ploi the course for you. lt also can find points of interests such as gas stations, restaurants, airports, local sites, businesses and many more thinos.

Install the mounting bracket onto the suction mounting arm by slipping it over the tabs and then it to lock into place. Find a smooth mounting surface inside the vehicle for the display monitor where it can be easily seen, but not in a position where it can obstruct your vision when driving. NOTE:To maximize the effectiveness of the suction mount, the mounting location surface temperature should be between 70' and 100"F (21" and 38'C); avoid application below 50'F (10'C). Do not perform application in direct sunlight.

Clean and dry the mounting surface.

Only use the charging adapter that was provided with the GPS. Use of other chargers or adapters may void any warranty, cause damage to the GPS, increase risk of fire and/or result in personal injury. Do not submerge the charging adapter in water or any liquid. Keep it dry and free of dirVdust at all times. Do not overheat or overcharge the battery.

NOTE:These steps will give you a brief introduction on how to use the GPS. For a more detailed procedure, see "Exploring the Screens" on page 10.

Make sure the battery is fully charged. The light on the front of the unit will be green when fully charged.When using in a vehicle, it is recommended that you leave the GPS plugged in. Press and hold the power button for several seconds to turn the GPS on. From the "Main Menu", press the "Navigation" icon. When the GPS is started for the first time, this screen will appear. Press the "Accept" button to continue to the navigation screen. lf you press the "Decline" button, it will exit the navigation application.

Press the suction mount against the mounting surlace and push the suc{ion iocK lever down. Make sure it is attached securely. NOTE: After mounting, protect the mounting surface from direct sunlrght for 24 rours Place the display monitor on the mounting bracket and push on the top of the rnonitor to snap it in olace. Plug in the 12-volt DC power adapter/charger into a cigarette lighter/accessory socket. When there is power, the green light will be lit. NOTE:The power adapter plug must be plugged into an unswitched cigarette lrghter accessory socket or the key switch must be on. Check your vehicle's owner's manual to determine what your vehicle has. Route and secure all wires as needed.

It may take a few seconds for the next screen to load. Once the screen is loaded, you will be at the "Navi Map" screen. Press the "Menu" button.

When entering the "Navigation" system for the first time, the "System Attention" screen will appear.

Traveling Direction - Indicates direction of vehicle movement' Current Position - Displays your current position on the map. Next Road - Displays the name of the next road along your route' Volume Button - Press the button to change the volume of the voice navigation. Read the statement and press the'Accept" button to enter the "Navigation" system or the "Decline button to exit the system. Checking the box and then pressing "Accept" will skip this screen upon subsequent entrances into the Navigation system. The welcome screen will appear, and will automatically take you to the "Navi Map" screen.

To choose a new location:

Press the Yellow button containing the current state. NOTE: Many functions in the "Navigation" system can be selected in multiple ways: a. By pressing the desired item to highlight it, and then pressing the "Next" or "OK" button. b. By quickly doubletapping the desired item. Hereafter, the term "select" will be used. Scroll to your desired state using the up and down arrows and select it.

The "Name entry" keyboard will appear. Start to enter the name of the city.

Besides the three main buttons on this screen ("Go to", "Map Options" and "Settings"), you can also press:

"Main Menu". NOTE: Before using the navigation system for the first time, you may want to adjust the settings for your personal preferences. See "Settings" on page 20.

Pressing the "Go to" button from the "Navi Menu" takes you to the "Search Menu", where you can

specify start point or end destination.

Address
The "CityiPostcode" screen appears after pressing the'Address" icon. Select your desired city.

NOTE:After using the unit, it will store the last state entered, as well as a list of cities in that state that have been searched. From that screen, you can select a city previously searched, or click in the white "City I Postcode" bar and enter the city name or zip code.

The syslem defaults to the last city and state entered.

Press the "Click here and search road." bar to enter the name of the road in the same manner as entering the city. Select your desired road.You can also press the "On Map" button to view the location on the map.

You can press the "On Map" button to verify the location entered, or press the "OK" button to entet the "Route Plan" screen.

Press the "Click here and search house number." bar and enter the house nurnber of your destination in the same manner you entered the city and road. You can press the "ABC" button if the house number contains letters.

Point Of Interest
You can search destinations by categories of interest through the "Point Of Interest Menu" using the "Near Current Position", 'Around AddreSS" and "POl Search by Phone" functions.

same manner vou entered the initial road. Near Current Position Pressing the "Near Current Position" icon brings up a point of interest category list consisting of 22 categories.

Select your desired category. A list of results matching your category, including their address and distance from your current location, will appear, arranged from closest to farthest. From the points of interest list, you can scroll and select your desired item, click in the white "Name" bar to enter the name of the point of interest or press the "On Map" button to show the points of interest on the map.

Point on Map
Press the "Point on Map" icon to display the "Point on Map" screen. In this screen, you can press on streets or on point of interest icons to highlight and display information about the item. Press the "OK" button to select the item and enter the "Route Plan" screen, with the selected location as your destination.

Around Address Pressing the'Around Address" icon allows you to enter a city and state in which to search points of interest. Enter the city and state as described in'Address" on page 11.
Select your desired category. A list of results matching your category, including their address, will appear, arranged in alphabetical order. Proceed as described in "Near Current Position" on page 14.

POI Search by Phone


Pressing the "POl Search by Phone" icon allows of interest by complete or partial phone number. page 1 1 . Address Book
Press the'Address Book" icon to display a list of saved addresses. Selecting the desired address takes you to the "Route Plan" screen, with the selected address as your destination.

Coordinates
Press the "Coordinates" icon to display the "Coordinates" screen. Here, you can enter the coordinates of your desired destination. Press the "Format" button to switch between degree and digital format. Degree format requires cardinal directions (E or W, N or S) to be entered, and digitat format requires that at least one value (longitude or latitude) have a "-" before it' Press "OK" to take you to the "Route Plan" screen, with the selected location as your destination.

Recent Destinations
Press the "Recent Destinations" icon to display a list of destinations recently entered. Selecting the desired destination takes you to the "Route Plan" screen, with the selected location as your end point.

Go Home Press the "Home" icon to take you to the "Route Plan" screen, with your home address as your destination. lf you have not entered your desired home address, follow the on-screen directions to set up your home address.

Navigating Route PIan From the "Route Plan" screen, you have several options.

Press the'Add" or "Delete" bar to add waypoints to or remove waypoints from your route.You can add up to two waypoints to your route. Press the up and down arrow buttons to change the order of your route. Press the "On Map" button to view the highlighted location on a map. Press the "Simulate" button to simulate the route you will take. Press the "Options" button to enter the "Route Options" screen.

Press "OK" to save settings and take you to the "Route Plan" screen. Press "Go" to begin navigation.

13. Current Speed - Shows the current speed that you are traveling.

Route Options During navigation, press the "Menu" button to enter the "Navi Menu".

Route Plan Press the "Route Plan" icon to take you back to the "Route Plan" screen. Cancel Route Pressing "Cancel Route" will end the current navigation and take you back to the "Navi Menu".

Route lnformation
The "Route Information" screen provides you with details about your route including starting point, destination point, distance, and all turns and roads you will take (including distance between turns). Use the small arrow buttons to scroll through waypoints, if applicable, and use the large arrow buttons to scroll through the route to your destination.

Settings
Press the "settings" icon to access the "Settings" menu.

Language pressing the "Language" icon allows you to choose the language of the text in the Navigation screens and the language spoken during navigation. Press the "OK" button to confirm. Map Options The "Map Options" icon will take you to the "Map Options" screen. See "Map Options" on page 19. Settings
The "Settings" icon will take you to the "Settings" screen. See "Settings" on page 20. Go to Press the "Go to" icon to add a waypoint(s) to your route. This will take you to the "Search Menu". See "Go to" on page 11.

Map Options
Press the "Map Options" icon to access the "Map Options" menu.

About
To access the "About" icon, press the right arrow button in the main "Settings" menu. The "About" screen provides information about the unit.

North Up vs. Heading Up screen rotation NOTE: North Up is only available when 2D is selected. Birds-eye vs.2D style maps Day vs. Night mode Highway SignPost on/off Voice Guidance at each turn on/off Auto Zoom onlott -When on, the unit automatically adjusts map view to speed. Simulation Speed - Choose between 35 - 210 mph or km/h, in increments of 35, using the right and left arrow buttons.

Trace Record The "Trace Record" function allows you to record and trace your routes on a map. The "Trace Record' screen shows a list of all traced routes. To enable tracing, "Record On" must selected' Pressing "show" with a route highlighted will allow you to view that route. You can also delete routes from this screen.

Day/Night Mode This screen allows you to choose between automatic and manual setting of "Day/Night" mode,

GPS Status This icon allows you to view information about the unit, including whether the unit is active (fixed position) or inactive (no fixed position), the date/time, vehicle speed, altitude, HDOB the number and position of satellites ihe unit detects, and the current latitude and longitude.You can also access this screen by pressing the satellite dish icon when in the "Navi Map" or "Route Navi Map" screens.

The map will have different color schemes in these two modes.

Press the "Mile" icon to change the speed display to kilometres per hour (km/h). Press the "Kilometre' icon to switch back to miles per hour (mph).

Volume The speaker volume cannot be accessed in the "settings" menu; you must press the speaker icon from fhe "Navi Map" or "Route Navi Map" screen. From the "Volume" screen, use the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to adjust the speaker volume, or press the speaker icon to alternate between Night
mute and sound.

Day

With "Manually" highlighted, you can switch between "Night" and "Day" modes by pressing the arrow buttons. With "Automatic" highlighted, you can set the time period during which "Day" mode will operate. Set the start and end times using the arrows, and press "OK." Set Home Address Press this icon to enter the "Search Menu". From there, choose one of the icons to enter or find the location you want to set as your home address. See "Go to" on page 1 '1.

Ebook
From the "Main Menu", the "Ebook" function allows you to view and read text files (TXT format) from a micro SD card. Insert your memory card into the micro SD card slot. From the "Main Menu", press the "Ebook" icon.

Photo
The "Photo" function allows you to view photos (JPG and BMP format) from a micro SD card.

Press the "File Selection" button to choose a different document. Press the "Go To Page" button to choose a specific page in the document to skip to, and press the "Skip" button to go to the page.

The "System" function allows you to adjust system information.

Date and Time

Date Volume Press the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to adjust the speaker volume. Check the "Enable sounds for
taps" button for sound when pressing the screen or leave it unchecked for silence. Press the "Date" button or the bar containing the date to accessthe "Date" screen. From the "Date" screen, use the left and right arrows to adjust the year, month and day.

Time Power
The "Power" screen shows you the current battery level and indicates when the unit is charging (scrolling power bar). Press the "Time" button or the bar containing the time to access the "Time" screen. From the "Time" screen, use the left and right arrows to adjust the hour and the minute.You can also choose between 12H and 24H format.

Backlight
Press the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to adjust the brightness of the backlight. Checking the 'Auto-Brightness" button will allow the unit to automatically adjust the backlight brightness and will disable manual adjustment.

Time Zone

Press the "Time Zone" button or the bar containing the time zone to access the "Time Zone" screen. From the "Time Zone" screen, use the left and right arrows to adjust the time zone.You can also turn or or off automatic time adjustment for daylight savings.

Language

This screen allows you to recalibrate the touch screen.

With the stylus, firmly tap the center of the crosslines. The crosslines will move around the screen; continue piessing the center of the crosslines. The screen will close automatically when the touch screen is calibrated.

This screen allows you to select how the unit connects to the PC, using MS Activesync or acting as Mass Storage. lt is not recommended to alter the data stored in the internal memory. lt may damage the map data and render the unit non-functional. To add or upgrade the map, go to www.peakauto.com/gps:

1. Select and download the maps to a PC. 2. Copy the map to a micro SD card (2GB or larger depending on the map). 3. Insefi the micro SD card with the new map in the card slot. 4. You will receive an Activation Code by email; enter this Activation Code when you use this new
map for the.first time to activate it.

Storage
Store this GPS in a cool, dry area and keep it away from direct sunlight, heat, excessive humidity and dampness.

Cleaning
Do not clean or wipe the GPS with solvents or chemical materials. lf necessary, remove dirt or stains using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.

Move the vehicle awav from structures. System will work the best when there is an open view to the sky. Move to where there are no obstructions.
