OBJETO
Esta gua presenta tablas con las propiedades geomtricas de zapatas
octogonales para el diseo de fundaciones para equipos y estructuras de
instalaciones petroleras y petroqumicas.

ALCANCE
Se incluyen las propiedades geomtricas necesarias para el clculo y verificacin
de esfuerzos en el terreno y la zapata, as como para la estimacin de pesos y
cantidades de obra.

PROPIEDADES GEOMETRICAS
A continuacin, se indican las propiedades geomtricas ms tiles para el
dimensionamiento, diseo y cuantificacin de cantidades de obra para la zapata
de una fundacin octogonal.

distancia entre lados opuestos, en unidades de longitud

a:

lado del octgono, en unidades de longitud

b:

proyeccin del lado del octgono, en unidades de longitud

A:

rea del octgono, en unidades de longitud al cuadrado

W:

peso de la zapata de concreto por metro de profundidad [t/m]. Se supone

que el peso especfico del concreto reforzado es 2,4 t/m3.

Ixx: momento de inercia respecto al eje xx, en unidades de longitud a la cuarta

potencia.
Iyy: momento de inercia respecto al eje yy, en unidades de longitud a la cuarta
potencia.
Sxx: mdulo de seccin respecto al eje xx, en unidades de longitud a la tercera
potencia.
