Dear Parents and Guardians, Thank you for your participation in our recent Ground Breaking Ceremony The Ground Breaking Ceremony held last Saturday, 22nd May 2010 at Permai Village was a success despite of the intermittent rainfall. The event would not have been made possible without the contributions from students and staff with the co-operation of parents. The performances by our students were marvellous and helpers did very well. For all of you who have participated in the event in one way or another, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks. Dear Parents New School Uniforms The announcement on the introduction of new school uniforms was made in our most recent Newsletter in May 2010. The new school uniforms will be the same for both International and National Schools students. The school uniforms for Tenby International School will take effect in September 2010 and Sekolah Sri Pinang (Junior and Senior) in January 2011. The change aims to project common identity across Tenby Schools Malaysia and for a positive and smart image to our students of both the International and National Schools. However, students will still be allowed to wear the existing uniforms until July 2011 for Tenby International School and December 2011 for Sri Pinang Schools. The photos below show the new uniforms for the Primary and Secondary boys and girls.

Primary Secondary Students are reminded that they are expected to wear their uniform correctly. We would appreciate if parents could help us to reinforce the correct expectations. Students should wear the shirts properly tucked into skirts, shorts or trousers, shirt buttons fastened to the top button, white socks of ankle length and appropriate black shoes, not sneakers, slippers or trainers. The prices of the new uniforms are shown as below. Prices are correct at date of printing and may be subject to change. The new uniforms will be available for purchase beginning July 2010 from the school office. Those who wish to place order can do so now at the school office. Full payment must be made on order. Speed limit in the School Compound (SPJ/TT) Gentle Reminder to all parents - Please drive carefully and slowly in the school compound. Watch out for students crossing from the school building into the field. Traffic Flow in the School Compound (SPJ/TT) To facilitate smooth traffic flow before the start of every school day and during dismissal time parents are reminded not to block the flow of traffic when dropping off their children. Please park your cars in the proper places that have been allocated for this purpose. Your cooperation on this matter is very much appreciated. Ground- Breaking Ceremony 22nd May 2010

The ground breaking ceremony for our new campus was held on the 22nd May 2010. It was officiated by YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang. Also present were officials from BSG/Property and Tenby Schools. The ceremony was well attended by parents and well wishers. The students made us proud by giving a marvellous performance. Thank you one and all for making the occasion a success.

Teachers Day 2010(SPJ)

Sri Pinang Junior celebrated Teachers Day on the 21st May 2010. The celebration started with a formal assembly. During the assembly the message for Teachers Day 2010 by the Minister of Education Malaysia was read out. A few selected students then recited poems in honour of the teachers. Lesson went on as usual after the assembly until co-curriculum time. During the co-curriculum time the students played Captain Ball with the teachers. During this time the classes had their parties and lunch was served. The celebration was a great success due to the support of the parents. Thank You parents, teachers and students for making Teachers Day celebration a success.

Teachers Day 2010 (SPS) Sri Tenby Senior School has conducted Bahasa Malaysia and English essay writing and poster drawing competitions in May in conjunction with Teachers Day celebrations. The Teachers Day assembly for both Tenby International School and Sri Tenby Senior School will be held on 25 June 2010.

Enrichment extra classes (SPS) From 10 June 2010 onwards all Forms 3 & 5 students have to attend Enrichment Extra Classes from 1:50 3:00 pm every Thursday and Friday. These classes will be conducted by our hardworking and dedicated teachers for the purpose of helping students achieve better academic results in PMR / SPM. Study Pathway Talk (SPS) On 17 June 2010 (Thursday) from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm, there will be a Study Pathway Talk by a representative from Disted-Stamford College Penang for Sri Tenby Senior School Form 5 students. The purpose of this talk is to generally broaden the outlook of Form 5 students as to what are the academic requirements and routes for further studies after their SPM examination. Parent Teacher Meeting (SPS) The mid-year examinations were held from 24th May to 4th June 2010. All parents / guardians are cordially invited to collect their child/wards academic progress report and to meet the teachers during the Teachers-Meet-Parents Day on the Saturday, 26th June 2010, 8.30am to 12.30pm.

There will be a short Parents Meeting during the first session on that morning to elect two representatives from Sri Tenby Senior School to the Tenby Schools Penang Parents Association. After the first session the teachers will meet the parents / guardians to discuss the academic performance, learning attitude and behaviour of their child / ward.

Cross-Country (TIS/SPS/SPJ) Tenby Schools Penang will hold The Annual Cross-Country Run on 6 July 2010 (Tuesday) at The Botanical Gardens. All the students are required to participate in the cross-country run. Concert 2010 (SPJ) The title for this year concert is When the Rivers Meet This a musical play about the Malacca sultanate. The cost of costumes is RM90 per student. Kindly pay to the respective class teachers. Thank You for your support. Trip to Cameron Highland (SPJ) The annual trip for the Junior 5 and Junior 6 is a 3days/2nights Educational tour to Cameron Highlands. The tour price is RM350/ per student which is inclusive of transportation, board and lodging and entrance fees. The trip will be on 24th June 2010 to 26th June 2010. Thank you, Parents (TT) We had a great time with our children on Teachers Day. Thank you for all your support and kindness. We had received some flowers, sweets, cake, doughnuts and gifts. Celebration of Fathers Day (TT) We would like to invite our fathers and grandfathers to join us on Friday, June 18th at 11:30a.m.. You will have a fun time with your child.
