Admission Essay Like any other sports which can be very unpredictable, life in the same way can

be full of ups and downs. These ups and downs color our lives, define us and eventually create the persons we are today. I may be perhaps an exception to see life even more exciting when these ups and downs suddenly turn things complicated. These complications in a way for me are rather opportunities than discouragements. Thus, I consider every part of life significant no matter how they may look bad at first. In every down part, I believe that I can do something to change it to make it better. Ever since in childhood, I always tried to sway away from convention. My parents can testify it. I rather do something that is odd than ordinarily do what is expected. Back then, I always see life full of excitement. I even tricked the neighborhoods son and rode his bike for fun once, which I was alleged for its damages after. I did same little crazy things that afforded me undeserving punishments. However, notwithstanding what surrounding people believed at me, I see myself as only clever that somehow they had misinterpreted me. Hence, instead of getting things restrained, I began to develop a personality that was assertive and creative. One of the serious changes in life that I encountered is when I got in high school. It was the time when I turned on to friends to find time and company. With them, I developed great interest in some extra-curricular activities like playing basketball, soccer and scuba diving. I really enjoyed these activities specially the scuba diving. Although my mother became aloof with me when I spent a great deal of my time practicing and talking about it, I considered it rather as a challenge to think that I can maintain both. I assured her always that sports or recreations could not ruin my academic progress, much more my life. Indeed, I have proven her that I was right.

With being indulged to extra-curricular affairs, I began to develop a new perspective that is more of extrovert type. This led me to become more aware of the present situations which are happening around me and the society. I was elected as the president of the student council. It was this time I felt fulfilled to serve others and extend arms to the needy. We had this mission that helped the orphans in building their water wells. This simple act of kindness was indeed so worthy experience to share with. My inclination in terms of the academic aptitude particularly belongs to chemical engineering. I believe that this one of the fields today that needs to be greatly restructured. Our engineering today needs bright ideas that defy from the usual. People look for new things always, and I believe I can provide them so by my peculiar views to transform every typical thing into unique one. With the knowledge in the particular subject, I stand to a belief that I could instrument my ideas in more effective and compatible means. Focused and motivated these are the two qualities which I believe are innate in me, and are the key strengths that can make me stand out amid the competitive academic world. Time tells that I am actually inclined in chemical engineering. With the circumstances I have in life, I feel like that no other place can suit my inclination but numbers. The way I see the field is the same how I see my life metamorphosed in these early years. From the day I failed in a math competition, one thing bangs my mind all over again, and it is if I only know numbers better. Verily, I am a person not likely to let go opportunities that seem advantageous in some ways. It was for this reason that I sought to be called for this supposed profession. In line of my desire to see everyone living comfortably, I believe that my ability to confront unfair treatment, and deal with problem solving circumstances can beneficially guide me as I course through this whole subject.
