Amantran" - A Value for money , Bengali Food Joint situated just opposite to Hyderabad Ramakrishna Mission at domalguda.

Had been there quite a number of times, and must say you gonna get the flavor of a real, authentic, typical home made Bengali food. They serve wide array of all kinds of Bengali foods. I recently had Chicken Kosha - extremely tasty, the gravy was cooked and had right amount of spices, was thick. Chicken was tender, juicy and the masala went inside the chicken pieces so nicely that u can feel the flavour in each and every bite, one of the best Chicken Kosha I ever had. Mocha (Preparation made of banana leaf)- excellent. Fish Curry- Typical home made rohu fish curry, u gonna love it for sure. Apart from all these , when you sit and dine, their Veg Thalis are also worth of money, with a good amount of rice/ dal/ one fry/ sabzi. Among their other items, one must try - Muri Ghonto/ Posto/ and different varieties of fish curries/ Mutton Kosha. In sweet dishes- Yummy Rosogollas, Pantua. I big thumbs up for all these. VALUE FOR MONEY. GO FOR IT FOODIES.... :)

This is your friendly neighborhood Bengali restaurant. About 4 tables, little ambiance, but food can be awesome at times. The place is situated in the ground floor of Hyderabad Bangalee Samity, one of the major Bengali associations of Hyderabad. It is next door to the famous Ramakrishna Mutt opposite Indira Park at Domalguda. You have a rich collection of Kolkata street food if you go there in the evening. The ubiquitous rolls, veg and non veg chops, cutlets, singaras (the Bengali version of samosa), moglai parotas. At times it is a bit oily but the food generally tastes good. You can also try the luchi-alur dom or luchi mangsho. For dinner they have standard Bengali thalis with options of fish, chicken. I love the Kosha Magsho (a Bengali preparation of mutton here). They also have special dishes like mochar ghonto (banana flower), ichhor (raw jackfruit curry) during seasons. Among sweets, they are one of the few places in Hyderabad who can make proper Bengali sweet curd or Mishti doi. They also serve Nolen Gurer Rasagolla or Rasgullas made with date jaggery syrup. It may be extremely difficult to get a table here especially during the weekend evenings.. there is normally a queue of people waiting outside. If you like Bong food, the restaurant definitely provides a value for money option. Look out for the specials which they list on their white board.

I visited this place twice as of now. Well,experience-wise it is mind-blowing. We had aloo bhaja, daal, aloo posto, masala fish fry, bhetki paturi, chutney and mishti doi. My friend took kosha mangsho instead of bhetki paturi. Who cares about the ambiance when you get authentic bengali food so delectable and finger-licking here! Believe me,it won't burn a hole in your pocket.A must visit for every bongs staying out here in Hyderabad.I can assure you that this small joint will not disappoint you in case you're a die-hard "khadyoroshik" dying to eat bengali food.

BANG FOR THE BONGS Highly Recommended for those who have been longing to eat Bengali Food.... I ordered Fish Meal (MuriGhonto, Patla Dal, Rice) which was simple yet delicious, Aloo Posto was little oily but tasted just perfect, Mutton Curry (Half) too little portion but the flavours were good, Aloo Bhaja (Potato) Fry)was crispy, The ROSSOGULLAS are AWESOME, one cannot miss to taste it... Bongs are known to be warm and cordial & you will find the staff to be the same....They do make you feel at home :) Overall, the food is tasty (like Ghar Ka Khana). With Value for Money Price List and Variety in the Menu; It's definitely a TREAT...
