Buyer Development Mail This is the beginning of any buying process and starts with the starting of communications

between buyer and the buying house. The buyer requests a development sample from the details already provided by him. Buyer likes and dislikes The buyer states his choice of the garment , his designs his likes and dislikes and presents a clear idea of the design in his mind. Different types of Samples The different types of samples prepared afterwards are : proto sample first fit sample preproduction sample shipment sample

Production Merchandising Process Flow Sample approval After the different samples are made they are sent for approval of the buyer. Only after the approval of the buyer will the next step be taken. Costing of garments In order to achieve perfect garment costing, one must know about all the activities including purchase of fabrics, sewing, packing, transport, overheads, etc and also about their costs, procedures, advantages and risk factors. To find out the costing of a garment, the following things should things be calcuated:

Fabric consumption. Gross weight of other components of garment. Fabric cost per kg. Fabric cost per garment. Other charges (print, embroidery, etc). Cost of trims (labels, tags, badges, twill tapes, buttons, bows, etc). CMT charges.

Cost of accessories (hangers, inner boards, polybags, cartons, etc). Cost of a garment. Price of a garment.

Price Quotation for buyers Based on the the costing of the garment and evaluation of the charges to be incurred a price is quoted to the buyers.

Order confirmation and documentation After the order gets confirmed , the buyer sends to the buying house Basic Ordering Agreement , Purchase order and document of credit( a document issued by a financial institution to make payments secure in domestic and international grade.) Fit cycle Fit samples are made in base size, by using actual materials - fabric, trims, and accessories. Fabric ordering The garments manufactured in many sizes to fit for everybody. Generally they are in sizes Small (S), Medium (M), Large (L), Extra large (XL) and Double Extra Large (XXL).
Fabric consumption =(Body length + Sleeve length + allowance) * (Chest + allowance) * 2 * GSM 10000

Based on the the calculation of fabric consumption the quantity of fabric is ordered. Audit Checking and evaluation is carried out to ensure high standards.

Trim ordering The accessories which are attached to the garments are called Trims. According to the requirement of he trims the order is placed. Detailed time and action

Preproduction meeting Just before the production starts, a meeting is held to discuss about how to proceed and everything is chalked out also buffer or backup plans are kept ready. Pilot run Pilot run is the first run of the production and only after this is carried out they proceed for bulk production. Bulk production The mass production of the garments is the prime focus of the industry. Audit Audits are carried out , acceptance quality level is decided and the the garments are inspected. Delivery Finally the goods are delivered to the asked location.
