Student must be an active paid member of NABSW during the year of application in order to be eligible. Applicant MUS be an Undergraduate! "raduate! or #octoral level student during the 2$1%&2$1' academic school year. Student must submit a t)o to three page! double&spaced! type)ritten *statement of purpose+ letter. he follo)ing must be included, -rofessional .nterests /uture Social Wor0 Aspirations -revious Social Wor0 12periences 34olunteer and -rofessional5 6onors and Achievements 3Academic and 7ommunity Service5 8esearch .nterests )ithin the blac0 community 3Masters and #octoral Students5. Student must submit t)o letters of recommendations, One le er of re!o""en#$ %on "&' (e !o")le e# (* +e ' &#en ,' C+$) er A#-%'or of NABSW .or C+$) er Pre'%#en %f $ff%l%$ e# /% + $ !o""&n% * !+$) er01 and the other can be completed by a professor! field instructor! or a prestigious community&based leader. An official letter from the school registrar officer verifying that the student is attending and in 9good standing9 )ith the university or college and include the student:s dates of enrollment. An official! current! academic transcript from the school. /irst year MSW students must present their official undergraduate transcript if a current academic transcript is not yet available. When elected to the -residency of the National Association of Blac0 Social Wor0ers in 1B<$! STELLA 6: BROWNE BOOK SCHOLARSHIP - 315 A)ard of ?2'$.$$ Stella M. Bro)ne )as a -ioneer of the National Association of Blac0 Social Wor0ers. She Doined the Atlanta 7hapter of NABSW in 1B<2 and served as Steering 7ommittee 8epresentative. Stella )as a dedicated and faithful member of NABSW and volunteered her service and time unselfishly to improve condition in the Blac0 community. She traveled the )orld e2tensively )hile developing alliances )ith other social )or0ers and establishing catalyst for social change. Stella M. Bro)ne )as dedicated to empo)ering others through education and mentorship. he Stella M.
