Dear Friends, “The Lord abhors dishonest scales,

Recently I read on a blog that young adults will
volunteer and lead when: (1) they know that their time
is going to be spent wisely, (2) they know that their
actions are going to have an impact on their families,
or (3) they know that their actions are going to have an
impact on the world. If this is so, which do you think is
more important for you?
I have started to read The Tribal Church (by Rev. Carol
Merritt) which addresses issues for young adults who
are both within the church and those who are not
attending anywhere. The book suggests that the local
church can address needs of young adults while
remaining flexible in what ministries they would like to
offer. I am curious about how this applies to SHPC. I
would like to invite you to share honestly what new
ministry that you think Sequoyah Church could offer.
Be creative! We’d love to hear your ideas and it would
be interesting to learn of a ministry we have never
heard of.
As you share ideas about new opportunities for growth,
may God use it to edify each of us who are part of His
church.
