S.NO 1 TITLE Effect of Process Parameters on Delamination,Thrust force and Torque in Drilling of Carbon Fiber Epoxy Composite YEAR AUTHOR ABSTRACT The drilling tests are carried on Bi-directional carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite laminate by using high speed steel drill at different feed rate and spindle speed. August Natraja,Mervin A (2013) herbert,Divakara Shetty,Raviraj Shetty,B Shivamurthy TESTING \ METHODOLOGY HSS drill of 6 mm Microhardness diameter with 118 tip testing,UTM (Tensile angle & Interlaminar Shear Strength),3-Point Bending(Flextural),V MC(for drilling),High Resolution Scanner (visualizing) Uni directional 5 mm diameter Carbid CNC Machining Hemp fiber drill bit center,Tool Makers Polyester resin Microscope WORK MATERIAL BCFREC TOOLS USED REMARKS Composite damage is bigger for higher cutting speed and feed. There is no effect on thrust force and torque due to spindle speed. The lower feed rate has to be used for higher spindle speed in HSS drill to reduce the delamination damage Optimal Parameters for the minimum peel up,minimum push down delamination based on s\n ratio is obtained for the given input cutting paratemeters

Spindle speed is inversly propotional to the Thrust force.Cutting torque is influenced by drill diameter. Both thrust force and cutting torque increase with the increase in feeed rate and thickness. The material experimental investigation indicates that the Sic filled glass epoxy composites provides better machinability compared to glass epoxy composites without the addition of filler. The Proposed machinability models were then utilized with SA to select the optimal parameteres such as spindle speed and feed, which results in minimal thrust force, hole surface roughness and specific cutting coefficients It is found that Zhirov point drill and multifacet drill could be used at high spindle speed which generates less less thrust force.Surface finish of the drilled hole could be achieved to 26.1m High cutting speed and low feed rate favor the minimum delamination on milling of all four different FRC.Among all HEMP fiber reinforced composites promote less damage than the other FRC.(the delamination factor and surface roughness are small The erosion wear performance of these composites improves by reinforcing bamboo fibers.Increasing the fiber wt more than 30 % the void contents starts decresing. In future,Hybrid composites using potenial fillers good properties can be obtained

S.Jayabal,U.Natarajan A drill bit diameter of 6mm,spindle speed of 600 rpm and feed rate of 0.3 mm\rev gave the minimum value of thrust force, torque and tool wear in drilling analysis. To ensure the quality of drilled holes chip formation is also considered

TaguchiMethod, Design of Experiments,Regressi on analysis

1.Drill bit diameter of 6mm is best suitable one for minimum drilling forced and tool wear in the range of 6 to 10 mm drill bit diameters. 2.Spindle speed of 600 rpm and feed rate of .30 mm\rev may be preferred in drilling of coir-fiber reinforced composite Feed rate is the most dominat cutting parameter,Which has the greater influence on the delamination factor for four drills.Among the four different drills, step drill produces less delamination the GFRP composites (entrance and exit) than three drills.
