DEVELOPING A TEAM ATTITUDE

When the Apostle Paul spoke to the early church, he shared a design from the Lord regarding how people should work together. He referred to the early church as the body. Romans 12:4-5 reads, For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not Some of Our Team Players the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and 2 bus drivers every one members one of another. Mia Hamm is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, as well as a gold medalist with Team USA at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She said, I am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion. The power of a unified team cannot be underestimated and the weakness of a divided team cannot be overstated. An individual may have a tendency to develop a mindset that believes he is the only person working for the common good of the church. People tend to feel this way when they are discouraged. They might also feel this way when they are frustrated. Life sometimes can leave people feeling overwhelmed. Guard your attitude toward the local church. Take time to realize the amount of work that is accomplished behind the scenes. Rally the membership to get involved by your example and attitude. One of the fascinating things about geese is that they normally fly in a Vformation. By flying in a V-formation, the whole flock gets 71% greater flying range than if each goose flew on its own. The geese in the rear of the formation are the ones who do the honking. Its their way of announcing that theyre following, and everythings going well. The repeated honks encourage those in front to stay at it.

The New Testament Baptist Church is blessed with many volunteers who serve well. Our church is also blessed with many individuals and families who pray and contribute financially. At this time of the Thanksgiving season, this is something we all can be thankful for! Our church family will observe the Lords Supper on Sunday, November 24, during the Sunday Morning service. This is a time to remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ for our salvation. The Lords Supper is NOT a means of obtaining Gods grace. It is a church ordinance that pictures how we receive His forgiveness of sinthrough the shed & applied blood of Jesus Christ. Its an appropriate time to reflect upon our own lives, and repent of any sin. Prepare your heart for this heart-warming service!

TAKE FIVE!
During the Fall & Winter months when our church does not have organized soul winning, our church family is encouraged to TAKE FIVE Gospel tracts and distribute them throughout the week.

BUILDING PROJECT NEED

After a recent inspection of our roof, it was apparent that the churchs roof needed work. There are some areas of our roof that need immediate attention. Our church will need approximately $22,000 to re-roof the church (not the new addition). Funds have already been received in the amount of $10,000 for this project. We need to raise the remaining $12,000 by the end of December. You can designate your financial gift on our giving envelopes by using the BUILDING FUND box.

Thank you for choosing to worship at the New Testament Baptist Church of Butler. Our prayer is that your heart will be stirred for the eternal as we sing songs & hymns that direct your heart toward Christ and challenge you through the preaching of Gods Word. There are friendly people at our Welcome Center in the lobby who will gladly assist you with any questions you may have during your visit. Allow us to make you feel at home during your visit. Firsttime adult visitors and families are asked to visit our Welcome Center to receive a hospitality bag with a gift card to Chick-fil-A.
